Consider using tables, matrices, or other visuals.
Evaluate what leadership traits you need to incorporate in order to lead your diverse department.

Attend a committee meeting in your health care organization. If you are not currently employed in a health care setting, you may elect to attend a committee meeting at another company, a community center, a local school, local chamber of commerce or other professional organization.

In 500 words, describe the function of the committee and the roles of those in attendance. Describe your observations of the interactions between members of the committee and determine whether the process used to arrive at decisions is a form of shared governance.

he terms worldview and philosophy may be confusing, because they are often used interchangeably.  Difference Between gives a simple overview of each.  This explanation may help clarify the concepts.  In addition, philosophy is used in two distinct ways; as a unique discipline and as a set of beliefs of a separate discipline for example nursing.  For a discipline, philosophies represent its beliefs and values and its mindset or worldview.  Nursing philosophy is a statement of foundational and universal assumptions, beliefs, and principles about the nature of knowledge and truth (epistemology) (Reed, 1995).  Whall (2005) defines theory as a group of concepts interrelated via propositional statements which are based upon a group of underlying assumptions (p. 5).  You will find a succinct overview of these concepts at Nursing theories and a philosophy of nursing.  Meleis (2018) discusses the various properties of grand, middle-range, and situation specific theories for your review. Additional background information may be found below the assignment questions.

Review the rubric to make sure you understand the criteria for earning your grade.
