Health Effects of Exposures to Pesticides

Pesticides have a broad application, including their use in occupational and nonoccupational settings. Many pesticides have been linked to adverse health effects, and as a result, have been banned from use.

Using your course textbook, the South University Online Library, and the Internet, research on episodes of exposure to pesticides that caused adverse health outcomes in humans. Choose one episode and respond to the following questions:

• What are the health effects that the pesticide exposure caused in humans?
• What are the steps that could have been taken to prevent the adverse health outcomes from occurring?
• What are the changes required in the existing law that could discourage the reoccurrence of such exposures?
• Apart from law enforcement, what are the other ways to prevent future occurrences of such episodes?

Write a 2- to 3-paragraph (at least 200 words) evaluation of the potential solutions you researched and a recommendation for a policy to handle similar situations.

In your evaluation include the strengths and weaknesses of both solutions. Also include a description of any assumptions you made about the case when evaluating your solutions. Support your evaluation with proper citations from this week’s Learning Resources and at least twoadditional resources from the Internet.

Consider the following scenario:

You have just been promoted to supervise a team of employees. In your previous role, you were responsible for yourself and your individual results. Now you will be in charge of a team of five employees. As a brand new supervisor, you recognize the need to strengthen your skills.

· Identify two skills you would like to strengthen and explain why these areas would help you supervise your new team.
