Using the CSU Online

Library and other disciplinary resources, research how quantitative research

is used in your discipline. Using this information, write an essay that describes how quantitative research tools can be used to aid in decision making within your field. Be sure your essay addresses the following questions/topics:

1.Describe specific quantitative methods and tools that could be used within your discipline to gather data. Include your rationale.

2.Evaluate their effectiveness with respect to certain areas within your discipline.

3.Include company or organizational examples within your essay, as relevant.

4.In your opinion, what is the future of quantitative research both within your discipline and in general?

Your APA-formatted response must be a minimum of three pages (not including the title page and the reference page)

and must include an introduction, a thesis statement (concise summary of the main point of the paper), and a clear discussion of the questions/topics above. Your response must include a minimum of two credible references. All sources

used must be referenced; paraphrased and quoted material must have accompanying citations.

Assignment: Financial Plan

In order to retire and live comfortably, you must make plans for the future. It is important for you to start saving early in life for your retirement.

Your Discussion postings should be written in standard edited English and should follow APA guidelines. Be sure tosupport your work with specific in-text citations from this week’s Learning Resources and additional scholarly sources such as those found in the Library. Refer to the Pocket Guide to APA Style to ensure that your in-text citations and reference list are correct. Initial postings must be 250–350 words (not including references).

Post your answer to one of the following topic questions (one post answer) by Saturday, then respond to two or more fellow classmates (two posts) by Tuesday that are thoughtful and advance the discussion. Student responses postings must be 100–150 words (not including references).These required posts (totaling three) should be completed on three or more separate days.

Choose one of the following:

1. Consider an organization with which you are familiar. Do you know how it reports its financial condition? How does it compare to another organization of a different size, with a different ownership structure, that provides different services, and/or in a different market?
2. Consider a healthcare organization with which you are familiar, review it financial statements and apply the different financial ratios presented in the textbook. What do the different groups of ratios tell you about an organization’s financial condition and position?
3. What is the key difference between financial statement analysis and operating indicator analysis? How are these types of analyses useful to healthcare managers and investors? Consider a healthcare organization with which you are familiar and discuss what are some of the problems or challenges inherent in financial statement analysis?

Case Study

Introduction
The purpose of this case study is to take the learning from concept to application. We will visit this case study in each module. You as the learner will identify your actions as the consultant for the client. As you formulate your responses, please feel free to reference the text. In addition please support your points with credible sources (professional or academic) external to the course. The university library database is an excellent place to start and use of tuition funds. Other good start places for research are:

Write a 700-1000 word paper considering the following: Destructive communication takes many forms. This is vividly depicted in the film, The 33.

• Describe a work interaction in which you witnessed or experienced one-upping, withdrawing, bottling negative emotions, lashing out unexpectedly, engaging in personal insult rather than addressing a problem, or insistence on handling issues alone.  Be sure to define the term(s) you are using for this example.
• Explain the response this behavior created in the interaction and how you or the other person reacted in turn.

NOTE: If you cannot think of a personal work situation where one of these events occurred, you might want to view The 33 and use an example from the film.

• Given what you have learned in this chapter, discuss what you would have done differently in that interaction and what advice would you give others in a similar situation.  If you choose to use the film, discuss what did the miners did to resolve their communication and work through group conflict.
