Generally, in the beginning stages of therapy, patients? imagery is much angrier, due to their changing behavior and inability to healthily communicate their emotions. As therapy progresses and the clients begin to recover, there is a notable difference in the mood of their art. It will be evident that they are becoming happier and more comfortable with their new, improved selves.
If the therapist does not see progress in the mood of the art (not the quality) it will be very easy to identify. At this time the therapist can reevaluate the patient?s therapy plan and will adjust the therapy to achieve the desired results. For example, success in abseiling down a cliff, climbing a rock face, or traversing a high rope ladder may have a highly positive impact on a person who suffers from low self- esteem, and the memories of his or her achievement may help to maintain that gain in everyday life situations.

Automatic drawing: Automatic drawing provides an excellent way for the patient/client to let down their guards and thus is a good starting point for therapy. Free Drawing: This technique is useful because the images that the patient/client creates are often mirrors into the person?s present problems, strengths and weaknesses. Often at the end of free drawing, the patient/client is asked to share and explain what they drew about. Three wishes: Responses to this exercise reflect maturity level, degree of egocentricity and so on. Discussion that follows this exercise focuses on the strength of the wish and whether or not these goals/wishes are attainable. Adventure therapy: is typically an outdoors-based experience that pulls you out of your comfort zone and challenges you to grow and mature. People undergoing adventure therapy often feel trapped in their addiction and as if they can find no way out. Adding a little adventure to their lives helps expand their horizons and expectations. Typical adventure therapy activities include: hiking, fishing, camping, group survival activities, zip lining. Exploring the world in this way is designed to activate your sense of adventure and the joy of life. Being immersed in nature and breathing in fresh air will clear your mind and challenge your body and give you the focus and strength of character you need to beat your addiction for good.
Adventure therapy particularly emphasizes the use of physical and psychological challenge (Ray 2005; Richards and Smith 2003).
In the field of outdoor education, an alternative perspective has been
developed and is exemplified by the assertion that people change for positive
reasons, within the context of supportive communities (Mitten, 1999;
Warren, 1999). This approach discusses the importance of creating a
healthy, supportive community in which people can act on their positive
strivings. Communities are created when there is an emergence of conditions
such as: working with nature, experiencing the outdoors because of
an appreciation of the environment, and safety and sharing with a focus on
group members? strengths (Berman, 2005).

Drug and alcohol addiction can be a painful process. It?s not easy for everyone to discuss or even articulate what they are feeling. Application Case Salary Inequities at AstraZeneca
More than 50 years after passage of the Equal Pay Act, women in America still earn about 80 cents for every dollar
earned by a man. That adds up to a loss for the average female worker of about $380,000 over a lifetime.
Recently, the U.S. Department of Labor?s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) entered into an
agreement with AstraZeneca, a large international pharmaceuticals firm, for the company to pay some of its female sales
associates a total of $250,000. 137 AstraZeneca had a contract valued at over $2 billion with the U.S. Department of
Veterans Affairs to provide drugs to hospitals around the country. That made it subject to Executive Order 11246, which
aims to ensure that employees of U.S. contractors and subcontractors with federal contracts pay their employees fairly
without regard to sex, race, color, religion, and national origin.
After conducting a compliance review, the OFCCP concluded that AstraZeneca violated Executive Order 11246 by failing
to ensure certain women employees were paid fairly. According to the OFCCP lawsuit, an AstraZeneca Business Center
had routinely paid some of its female ?primary care? and ?specialty care? level III pharmaceutical sales specialists an
average of $1,700 less than men with the same positions. Because of the company?s pay secrecy policies, many of the
women didn?t know they were being paid less. In addition to the financial settlement, AstraZeneca and OFCCP will review
records of the firm?s female employees in 14 states. If they find additional statistical evidence of wage discrimination, the
company must remedy it.

our women sales reps on average earned less than men. If so, what are they?

?Moral Relativity? suggests that right and wrong are a matter of personal opinion, and because everyone is entitled to his or her own opinion, there really is nothing that is truly right or truly wrong; the best that a Moral Relativist can do is find enough people who have similar opinions and then make laws based on a majority consensus. But, even the majority opinion might change in a few years, and then the Moral Relativists running the government would have to revise the laws of accepted behavior. In practice, a Moral Relativists goal is to persuade the majority to agree with a certain opinion or view, even if others hold a different initial opinion (since right and wrong are not hard and fast). On the other side, people who believe that some things are definitely right and some things are definitely wrong (according to Moral Relativists) should be regarded as narrow-minded ?fanatics.?
Choose one (1) of the two scenarios below and explain your position.
Scenario #1:
Suppose that you lived in a society in which the population was doubling every fifty years, but the food production was increasing by only 80% during the same time period–meaning that in a few generations, the population would grossly exceed the amount of available food.

Keeping in mind that a Moral Relativist would say that our notions of killing people or even just letting them starve are neither right or wrong (since those are just ?opinions?), how would you resolve this over-population and lack of resources problem? If the idea of killing people or letting them die is too far outside your realm of thinking, we have an alternative scenario. You are the Presidential Advisor of Carbonated Beverages, and the Supreme Court has declared that only one carbonated beverage can be considered the official soft drink of the United States. NATURALLY, everyone has an opinion about which one is ?the best? soda?whether it is Coke, Pepsi, Mountain Dew, A&W Root Beer, and so forth. You have two choices: (1) you can go back to the Supreme Court and make the argument that no one should be forced to choose single soft drink for the whole country and that all opinions should be valid (and provide a lot of good reasons for why there is no right or wrong ?best? soda), or (2) you could pick one soft drink and explain why you are forcing the entire nation to comply with your particular choice (which, incidentally, would be the definition of ?fanaticism,? according to the Moral Relativists).
? So, which choice would you make, and how would you defend it?
Incidentally, this looks like the easiest scenario of the two choices, but it is not, since ?different kinds of soda? is actually a euphemism for ?ways to die? as we reduce the population numbers from the first scenario.
