Part One
The course project is a strategic management plan for an organization of your choosing. Now it’s time to select a company that you’d like to use for the course project. It’s important that you choose a company that is easily researched. You’re going to need to find information on their current business practices and makeup. That can be very hard to do with small local businesses, but easier with larger publicly traded companies. It’s also important to choose a company that you’re interested in and want to learn about. This will make the project more engaging.

For the assignment this week, write a paper that’s at least a page in length and completes the following:
Identify a company for which you wish to develop a strategic management plan. You may wish to conduct some preliminary research to help you understand a little more about the company you chose.
Provide a brief description of the company including what they do, what they’re known for, and their reputation within the current business environment.
Provide your reasons for selecting this company. Be thorough and specific with your explanation.

First Draft of a Review Writing Assignment
Write a 750-1,000 word review of a website about ADD or ADHD. You will write this review for the general public, so you might target a particular publication, such as a student or local newspaper or one of the national magazines. This will help you anticipate what your readers already know, what they value, and what criteria they accept as a basis of evaluation. Complete the following:
1. Develop a set of criteria that the general public would see as acceptable for a website about diseases and disorders (like ADHD).
2. Describe the website you have chosen, and then explain how it does (or does not) perform the criteria you established above.
3. Use at least two scholarly sources outside of class texts to augment your understanding and perspective on these facts and elements. Use the GCU library for sources. Include this research in the paper in an appropriate scholarly manner.
Prepare this assignment according to the GCU guidelines found in the GCU Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center.
You are required to submit this assignment to Turnitin. Refer to the directions in the Student Success Center.
The final draft of this assignment uses a rubric. Please review the rubric prior to beginning the assignment to become familiar with the expectations for successful completion of the assignment.
You will receive completion points for the first draft based upon the successful submission of your draft. The points are not an evaluative statement about your draft; be sure to consider all instructor comments as you revise your draft.
In addition to submitting this draft to your instructor, you must also post this draft as an attachment in the Week 4 Peer Review forum by Day 3 of Week 4.

PowerPoint Presentation with Speaker Notes.

Create a business pitch for your business plan in a 20- to 25-slide Microsoft? PowerPoint? presentation that addresses the following:
Company
Headline
Problem Worth Solving
Our Solution
Target Market
Competitive Landscape
Funding Needs
Sales Channels
Marketing Activities
Forecast
Milestones
Team and Key Roles
Partners and Resources
Hints from the Instructor:
For this assignment, i usually suggest that you start by making a case that shows the need. Make it dramatic/attention grabbing if possible. Are there any safety concerns or risks in the current situation? Use news stories from the past year if possible. Then present your vision and mission statements. Focus on the big picture.

Under Problem Worth Solving, be more basic. You are looking at your customer’s needs. e.g. You will not succeed unless you do this!

Then your solution is based on the vision you have presented.

Once you have presented a clear technical view of what you are offering.

Then make the case as to why should the customer investor trust/partner with/believe in you? Why are you better than your competition? Try to hit all the items in the assignment instructions (Company, Headline, Problem Worth Solving, Our Solution, Target Market, Competitive Landscape, Funding Needs, Sales Channels, Marketing Activities, Forecast, Milestones, Team and Key Roles, Partners and Resources)

General Notes: Sides need to be background and mostly titles or short bullet points. Although the text on the slide is not meant to be read, it must be readable. Hit the highlights only and save the details for hand outs or put them in the speaker’s notes. Put citations in the speaker’s notes.

Present financial summaries and projections. Have you accounted for paying yourself? Put the financials last since that is your “ask.”

Make sure to include media (pictures, clip art, text art, etc.)

It all flows from a clear articulation of the problem!

On-screen Graphic: Ethics ? Chapter 4
On-screen Graphic: A few minutes have passed since the HSP?s most recent
meeting with John regarding the status of his visitation rights, and she sits alone
in her office reflecting on her thoughts about the case and, specifically, her
ethical requirements as part of her role as a HSP.
On-screen Visual: The HSP sits alone at the table in the coffee shop and reflects
on her meeting with John.
HSP: (thinking to herself) ? Here I have this client, John, who?s charged with
domestic violence against his boys? mother. Normally I?d consider this a clear
signal of a possible threat.
HSP: (thinking to herself) ? The safety and well-being of the children is always
paramount in any case, but knowing John?s story and circumstances of his
criminal charge and his history as a teacher, coach, and father to these two
young boys, I can?t help but to feel some bit of sympathy for him. He hasn?t had
any previous history of violence or conflicts with law enforcement. The guy just
wants to reconnect with his children after having been away from them for more
than 2 weeks.
HSP: (thinking to herself) ? It seems to me that if John?s wife, Chahana, had a
better handle on her own personal situation all of this could have been avoided. I
mean she was in bed with his cousin. Anybody would be in a fit of rage if they
came home to that.
HSP: (thinking to herself) ? Let?s take step back here. I have enough experience
with this to know there are no simple stories or simple solutions in this field.
That?s one of the challenges I enjoy about this job. Also, I have to make sure
that I am not letting personal values and emotions cloud my professional
judgment.
HSP: (thinking to herself) ? What?s in the best interest of my client and his
family? What can I do in the immediate future to assist this family with their
current situation?

Ethics ? Chapter 4
HSP: (thinking to herself) ? I think a lot of these surrounding variables will be
resolved once it?s clear as to whether John and Chahana decide to work out their
issues or choose to move towards a permanent separation. We probably have
some time until that happens though.

Context
This will be a two part assessment
PART ONE:
When we examine the relationships between variables where two or more variables are characterized by nominal or categorical groups, we may use a chi-square test of significance. The chi-square test examines the statistical significance of the differences between observed and expected frequency count in each cell of the table. The chi-square test tells you only whether a statistical significance of difference exists between groups on some other categorical variable (neither strength nor direction).
