Question
The Discussion Board (DB) is part of the core of online learning. Classroom discussion in an online environment requires the active participation of students and the instructor to create robust interaction and dialogue. Every student is expected to create an original response to the open-ended DB question as well as engage in dialogue by responding to posts created by others throughout the week. At the end of each unit, DB participation will be assessed based on both level of engagement and the quality of the contribution to the discussion.

At a minimum, each student will be expected to post an original and thoughtful response to the DB question and contribute to the weekly dialogue by responding to at least two other posts from students. The first contribution must be posted before midnight (Central Time) on Wednesday of each week. Two additional responses are required after Wednesday of each week. Students are highly encouraged to engage on the Discussion Board early and often, as that is the primary way the university tracks class attendance and participation.

The purpose of the Discussion Board is to allow students to learn through sharing ideas and experiences as they relate to course content and the DB question. Because it is not possible to engage in two-way dialogue after a conversation has ended, no posts to the DB will be accepted after the end of each unit.

Prepare a 4?6-paragraph response to the following questions:

What role does the concept of exclusionary rule play in our criminal justice system?
To what extent might one argue that the exclusionary rule has gone too far in protecting civil liberties at the expense of fighting crime?
Further Guidelines

The provision contained in the Bill of Rights should be discussed as well as how it relates to criminal proceedings.
Incorporate in your discussion some of the shifts in the U.S. Supreme Court’s position relating to the application of the exclusionary rule in more recent cases.
Be sure to reference all sources using APA style. For more information on APA, please visit the APASTYLE Lab.
In your own words, please post a response to the Discussion Board and comment on at least two other postings. You will be graded on the quality of your postings.

For assistance with your assignment, please use your text, Web resources, and all course materials.

Now that you have completed the policies, processes, and procedures for Dr. Fellows, it’s time to consider staffing, compliance, and legal issues. Through the analyzing stage of the project, you found that Dr. Fellows did not have adequate staff, and it was unclear if any staff were certified, with the exception of the lead RN. You also discovered that most of the staff are unfamiliar with modern medical EMR/EHR technologies. Additionally, office staff have not been using the proper consent to treat forms, release of information forms and OSHA standards were not being followed. You want Dr. Fellows and his staff to understand how running a clinic is a service industry and how important state and federal regulatory compliance along with customer satisfaction and delivering quality care is to the future success of the practice. You have proposed the following staffing levels for the clinic: Licensed staff: 1 RN 3 certified medical assistants 4 certified medical administrative office assistants Nurse practitioner or physician’s assistant Non-licensed staff: 1 office manager You have now been tasked with presenting your staffing proposal to Dr. Fellows. Create a 9-slide Microsoft? PowerPoint? presentation with detailed speaker notes in which you discuss the following: Describe the importance of health care as a service business. Describe the challenges caused by advances in technology. Identify the effects of regulations on the health care office. Compare licensing requirements for health care workers using the staffing proposal mentioned above. Explain the importance of monitoring compliance in the health care office. Cite 2 peer-reviewed, scholarly, or similar references to support your presentation. Cite any graphics from other sources used in your slides. Format your presentation according to APA guidelines.

You are part of a research team that is studying academic motivation in high school students. A question has arisen regarding the strength of the relationship between academic motivation and achievement. Some members of the team believe there is a strong positive relationship between academic motivation and achievement, while others don?t think the two variables are related much, if at all.

To provide some information relevant to this discussion, a small study was designed. A random sample of 50 high school seniors from the local school district agreed to participate. Each student filled out a measure of academic motivation and released his/her SAT-math scores to the researchers. The data for this study are provided on the following page.

The measure of academic motivation was the Peabody Academic Motivation Scale (PAMS). Studies of the reliability and validity of scores obtained from using this instrument have been favorable when the instrument was used with high school students. The possible scores range from 0 to 100. The SAT-math scores can range from 200 to 800 and have also been shown to be reasonably reliable and valid in previous studies.

For this project you should:

1. Analyze each of the variables individually (mean, SD, skewness, kurtosis)
2. Analyze the relationship between the two variables (scatterplot and correlation)
3. Write a one or two paragraph summary of the results

Please turn in (1) the summary, (2) the program, and (3) the output.

Contemporary culture seems obsessed with celebrities, as evidenced by the popularity of magazines, tabloids, television programs, and Internet sites that track the slightest comings and goings of actors, musicians, models, and even those who are famous simply for being famous. Write an essay in which you speculate about the cause of this obsession with celebrities. What is it about the lives of ordinary people that makes them so interested in the lives of famous people? You may draw on outside evidence if you feel it is necessary. Remember that any time you draw on outside evidence, you must cite your sources with an in-text citation and a works cited entry. Outside evidence ought to take the form of verifiable, credible, current sources. You will be held accountable for the veracity of the sources you choose to employ. Good Luck! How will your essay be scored? See the following guidelines: Your essay should address the assignment parameters in a clear, concise, and engaging fashion. For full details, look at the essay prompt. Your essay should have an identifiable, clean structure. It should have an introduction with an appropriate attention-grabber and a clear thesis. It should have several body paragraphs of appropriate length. It should have a conclusion. Your body paragraphs should make use of cited evidence as necessary (from credible sources, of course). The cited evidence should be properly introduced and analyzed. Your essay should be free of grammatical and mechanical errors. Your essay should be in impeccable MLA document format and impeccable MLA citation format.

You can and should complete this assignment using the materials in Chapters 6, 7 and 10 of the text book. You do not need to consult other sources to complete the work, and will receive no additional credit if you do. Louie?s & Bob?s Italian Autoparts Louie owns an auto supply store in Downey; it is very specialized and carries only parts for Italian cars. The business was Louie?s father?s before he died, when Louie took it over. Louie?s good friend Bob has worked for him for more than 10 years, and 5 years ago they changed the name from ?Louie?s Motor Parts? to ?Louie & Bob?s Italian Autoparts? even though Bob was not an owner. Louie, as the owner, worked only part time at the store, and put a lot of trust in Bob, who ran the day to day aspects of the business. Bob did all of the books, ordered the inventory, signed company checks, and was there every day to see the customers. Recently Louie and Bob had been discussing how Bob could become a partner in the business. The store had inventory worth more than $250,000, and Louie wanted Bob to ?buy-in? to the business by paying him $100,000 for a 1/3 share, but Bob did not have anything close to that amount. When Bob went on a two-week vacation Louie worked every day at the store. Louie had not looked at the banking records for several months, and decided to go through the recent bank statements. Louie saw to his horror that Bob had been writing bad checks on the account to their suppliers; the bank was threatening to close the checking account and some suppliers had started to ship parts on a ?COD? (cash on delivery) basis. Louie decided to hire an investigator to see what was going on. The investigator discovered that Bob had been taking most of the cash out of the register during his shifts and had started a competing business selling auto parts at local swap meets. The investigator also observed Bob taking inventory from Louie & Bob?s Italian Autoparts and selling it at the swap meets. Please answer the following three (3) questions: (1) Can Louie sue Bob in tort for his actions? If so, what torts do you think he committed? (Limit yourself to the torts described in the textbook). (2) Can Bob be criminally prosecuted for his actions? If so, what crimes do you think he committed? (Limit yourself to the crimes described in the textbook). (3) Explain the differences in the procedures that take place in (1) a civil lawsuit filed by Louie against Bob to recover damages for Bob?s conduct, and (2) a criminal prosecution of Bob for the same conduct.

Guidelines for Review Essay This handout contains guidelines for the review essay of the book below. Recall that this essay is worth 15 percent of your total course grade. Spahn, Brenda and Irene Zutell. 2014. Miss Brenda and the Loveladies. Waterbook Press. ISBN: 9780307732170. These guidelines should be followed closely. Failure to follow them will result in a significant deduction of points. Each essay should contain 4-6 double-spaced pages of text (reference list not included in this total) and should include three elements. First, provide a summary of the book. Focus on the most important information without trying to summarize every single detail. Second, provide a 1-2 paragraph critique of the book. Topics for critique might include the organization of chapters, authors? writing style, authors? ability to summarize material, authors? ability to make an argument, and overall impact of the book. Be sure that you give specific examples in your critique. Third, pick three (3) of our course readings and explain how what you learned from those readings relates to content from the Spahn and Zutell book. Each chapter in the Johnson and Kerley books counts as one reading, and all of the research articles count as one reading. You will need to prepare a reference list and include it as the final page of your essay. Formatting Guidelines: ? Type your first and last name in the title of the Microsoft Word document. Do NOT include a title page. ? The first page of text should be numbered page 1. ? Use Times New Roman s?r?pt with a font size of 12 for the entire document. ? Make the entire document double-spaced. ? Tab once at the beginning of each new paragraph. ? Do not include bullets, numbered lists, or drawings in your paper. Use only text. ? Pick one referencing style and use it for in-text citations and for the reference page(s). ? Margins should be at least one inch all around (most programs are preset this way). Substantive Guidelines: ? Be sure to define any major terms, concepts, or theories used in the paper. ? Always use the spellchecker function in your word processing program to check for spelling errors. ? Always proofread your paper because there are many errors that the spellchecker will not catch. For example, if you meant to use the word ?where? but instead typed ?were? the spellchecker would not catch that. ? Do not use contractions. It is better to say ?she does not? than ?she doesn?t.? ? Use only gender-neutral language. Thus, if you do not know the gender of someone, do not use ?his? or ?him.? You can typically avoid this situation by using plural pronouns. 2 ? Possessives, however, are fine to use, but be careful to place the apostrophe in the right place. For example, it is correct to say ?Miner’s article was written in the 1950s.? However, saying ?Miner’s arguing that people should be cultural relativists? is incorrect. In that case ?Miner’s? is not possessive but is an incorrect substitute for ?Miner is.? To provide another example, if you say ?Dr. Kerley?s going to his house? that is incorrect (it should be ?Dr. Kerley is?). However, if you say ?we are going to Dr. Kerley?s class? that is correct. ? Unless asked for your opinion on a particular topic, use first-person terms like ?I? or ?we? only sparingly. ? Pay attention to the length of paragraphs. A paragraph that lasts one full page is too long, while one that is only one sentence is too short. Generally, your paragraphs should not be longer than one-half to three-fourths of a page. ? Watch for grammatical errors in which an incorrect verb tense is used. For example, ?she went to the game? is correct, but ?she had went to the game? is incorrect (it should be ?had gone?). Likewise, ?he was absent? is correct, but ?they was absent? is incorrect (it should be ?they were?). ? Try to avoid using absolute terms like ?always, invariably, truth.? We rarely deal with absolutes, so use qualifiers like ?tends to, may influence, may lead to, or is correlated with.? ? Along this same line, be careful not to make declarative statements for which you do not have empirical support. For example, if you say ?All Florida Gator fans are obnoxious,? you have made a generalization that you cannot support with any empirical evidence. Regardless of how strongly you believe in something, do not make strong and absolute statements unless you have empirical information to support it (the fact that your grandmother told you does not make the statement valid). ? Use direct quotations only sparingly, especially ones that are lengthy. Most of the time, you should be able to paraphrase someone else?s work and still make the same point. ? Try to be as concise and clear as possible when writing. Also, make sure there is a flow to your writing. Each sentence should logically flow into the next and each paragraph should flow to the next.

Autodesk Simulation Moldflow Insight (ASMI) is an advanced software for simulating, analysing, optimising and validating plastics parts and mould design for injection moulding process. The project involves undertaking the warpage and shrinkage analysis of a given plastic part for different cooling channel designs in the mould using the Autodesk Simulation Moldflow Insight (ASMI) 2014 software located in your computer lab.

Select any appropriate plastic part preferably with curved geometry, which can be injection moulded. Select a project partner, and then inform the Unit Convenor about the details of the part and the names of your group partners by e-mail within the first two weeks of the semester.

The project work involves the following main tasks:
(1) Select a small size plastic part which can be injection moulded. Select the material of the part.
(2) Create the CAD model of the selected plastic part using any CAD system.
(3) Using ASMI software, perform the Cool+fill+pack+warp analysis on the part.
(4) Carry out a comparative analysis of effect of cooling system configuration on the warpage and shrinkage of the plastic part, with the aim of determining which cooling configuration will provide minimum cycle time (time to reach ejection temperature) and minimum warpage. You will need to create a few different cooling system configurations for the part including the conformal cooling channel type to compare the results.
(5) Other analyses useful to achieve the objective may include optimum gate location analysis, minimisation of air traps, weld lines, sink marks etc.

Assume all appropriate dimensions of the part of your choice (in SI units), and use appropriate processing conditions for the AMI analysis.

Project Report: The group project report in hard copy and a soft copy should be well documented and submitted by the due date and must include the following information:
