Review of literature:includes information from each reference that provides the context for how the author or authors used the concept but the emphasis is on the

antecedents, criteria, and consequences that you identified
Organize your review by disciplines or bodies of literature. End each section with a summary of common antecedents, criteria, and consequences from that discipline
Write a summary of your review that compares what you found out about the concept across the disciplines
ANTECEDENT, CRITERIA, AND CONSEQUENCE TABLE: provide a 3column table with your final list of antecedent, criteria, and consequences that you have synthesized and

condensed from your review. A word or phrase can only be in one column. The condensed list can be single words or short phrases. (5-6of each) the words or phrases must

describe the concept across the disciplines.
RATIONALE: the rationale for selection section is where you explain how you got to your final list. Discuss why you chose the specific antecedents, criteria, and

consequences listed in the above columns. This is very important because it helps explain the process of synthesis that went into this activity. Discuss how you did

this and give rationale for what you included and what you did not.
My original list was:
ANTECEDENT: disengagement, job dis satisfaction, stress, overwhelmed, resignation, burnout
CRITERIA: organizational commitment, support, time, educational opportunities, interest, motivation
CONSEQUENCE:nurse retention, job satisfaction, empowerment, avoid cost of new employee orientation, confidence, trust
(I don’t think I understood the idea of criteria when I made this list in week 1 which I had to turn in )

THEORETICAL DEFINITION: of the concept comprised of your criteria linked together in a sentence. This should include all of the criteria. If you find you have to use

other descriptive words to make the definition make sense, consider the possibility that these words may be criteria. This definition should flow from and be the

culmination of the work you have done in the analysis. Be sure the definition tells what the concept is.

OPERATIONAL DEFINITION: provide an operational definition of the concept with empirical indicators. This definition should be congruent with the theoretical definition

but will be much narrower and only true in specific situations. The definition is how you can see the criteria of the concept in a specific clinical situation or

measure the concept in a research study. It may not be applicable for all uses of the concept.

CONCLUSION: concludes the paper with a summary that focuses on the conclusions you have drawn from the concept analysis. Specifically talk about the questions or

issues it raised. Elaborate on what you have learned about this concept that you will be able to use in your practice. Describe specifically what you have learned that

you can apply in practice by providing an example of your concept in clinical practice.

GRADING:
INTRODUCTION: states topic and previews structure of paper. Rationale clearly ties concept to plans. Includes multiple supporting details and/or examples.
REVIEW OF LITERATURE BREADTH &DEPTH: includes different uses of the concepts from at least 5 or more areas of the literature. Includes multiple supporting details

and/or examples. Reviewed at least 4 different sources for each discipline with at least 6 for nursing.
REVIEW OF LITERATURE ANALYSIS & LOGIC: train of thought is clear and has an obvious emphasis. There is clear evidence the writer has analyzed sources. Terms are

reported logically and accurately. Terms clearly flow out of the literature.
SUMMARY AND TABLE: effectively compares and contrasts terms from disciplines. Table formatted correctly. The list is logical and reflects references.
RATIONALE FOR SELECTION: rationale clearly supports selection of term. Clearly supports exclusion of characteristics. Clearly and succinctly explains characteristics.

Reflects thorough analysis and accurate synthesis.
DEFINITIONS OF CONCEPT: Theoretical definition is clear and concise. All criteria are evident in definition. Operational definition includes empirical indicators and

is congruent with theoretical definition.
SUMMARY: clearly defines implications of concept to nursing practice. Makes a strong connection between learning and practice. The summary is strong and succinct.
APA: no mistakes in format. All sources credible and cited correctly.

I had chosen management discipline and education as my 2nd discipline and how if affects nurse mentoring. Now I’m thinking maybe I should use physicians as my 2nd

discipline and how they also can influence the mentoring of the nurse by being supportive, engaging and mentoring or should I go with mentoring in the health field?

Mentoring not just nurses but leaders and doctors in addition to nurses?
I’ve been all over the place with this concept and cannot grasp it!!

RUBRIC
A – The “A” writing assignment contains the following qualities of good writing.
1. Careful construction and organization of sentences and paragraphs.
2. Careful choice of effective words and phrases.
3. Concentration on a main purpose.
4. Adequate development of that main purpose through the use of specific details and
Rhetorical devices.
5. Careful proofreading reflected in correct grammar and spelling.
6. A style, tone and approach clearly and successfully directed toward a specific
Audience.
7. Originality of thought and style.
8. Correct usage of the form, structure and language of that particular type of business
communication.
B: The “B” writing assignment contains the same elements of an “A” assignment. It’s
ideas are clear because it contains positive qualities of good writing. It is comparatively
free of errors in the use of English. Although indicating competence, the “B” assignment
lacks the originality of thoughts and style that characterizes the “A” paper.
C: The “C” writing assignment has a reasonably clear central purpose which receives
fairly adequate development. It is satisfactorily organized and avoids serious errors in the use of English. It may, in fact, have few correction marks on it, but it lacks the thought and expression which would entitle it to an above-average rating. It may be lacking in any number of the above qualities of an A paper.
D: A “D” grade indicates below-average achievement in expressing ideas correctly and effectively. It usually contains some serious errors in the use of English and does not
Present a central idea with sufficient clarity and completeness.
F: A grade of “F” usually indicates failure to state and develop a main idea. It also indicates failure in structuring the assignment and failure to avoid serious errors in grammar, spelling, sentence structure and diction. Note, if a paper does not conform to the assignment, though it might otherwise deserve an “A” or other grade, it will receive an “F.”

Moral decision making
Write a 3 pages reflection about the story upload below;make it 4 pages by rewrite it again with the same ideas.
Moral decision making;

Competitions are always of bringing together the very best in any field, which in most cases elicits different reactions among participants. Kevin a gifted NFL player always at his highest level, which earns him an enemy from within Art, takes upon himself to overlook ethics and instead makes a decision to ruin Kevin’s career in a morally destructive way. The reflection is a critical analysis of the events that unfolded and how they relate to everyday ethics. The reflection will also look at alternative ethical routes that could have been taken to avoid the resultant undesirable consequences.
Art has well calculated his moves in a way that will appear like a normal accident and no blame will be placed on his hand. When at the second quarter he falls over Kelvin with his helmet snapping at his neck, it is the hit that changes everything. Kelvin is changed for a lifetime as he is reduced to paralysis and can no longer shine as a player again. However, he would be rightful to sue in a court of law the bad publicity and fears of bankruptcy may ruin his life. Lack of morality is displayed through Art malicious and jealous behavior, which reduces Kelvin to a wheel chair in the end. Art fails to look at how his decisions will affect others and only looks at how he will personally benefit, which is a reflection of lack of moral principles. Art decision making could have been different if he looked at the consequences of his actions in both the short terms and the long term. Art is only concerned about the instant fame he gets from the book he writes about Kelvin and the press that follows him. Other than Kelvin losing out to ever becoming a player again, his team also loses a great deal the benefit of having a talented player in its camp. The family that Kelvin took care of education needs and the society as a whole loses a great deal of his moral and financial support. Looking at the high losses because of Art hit and the tragedy, it is a morally wrong decision.
After what Art did, a chance to talk to him would with an effort to help him become a better person who respects the rules of ethics other than holding on extreme feelings such as greediness. I would ask Art to come out clear and admit what he did was wrong as this would help in making him a better human being who is able to acknowledge mistakes. Every human being may sometimes be overcome by emotions and sometimes do unpleasant things. I would ask Art to review his inner self and tell if what he did would add value in his life and whether it would make him live a happy life’s would talk to him the benefits of moral behavior and its contribution to fair outcome. Although he may rake in millions from the tragedy, I would talk to him about the suffering that Kelvin and his loved ones will be subjected to because of disability. Although money derives satisfaction, it may not result to happiness especially when earned in such crude means.
Although Art acts as if he does not care, he feels terrible about his actions. Art may have intended to put out Kelvin with an injury for only a few games and not a lifetime. His refusal to apologies is driven by his guilt feelings about his actions. His actions of not looking at Kelvin when he lay motionless on the field and failure to visit him in hospital are an indication of guilt feelings.
Justice is an important part of moral decision making where consequences are involved. The actions of Art resulted to a tragedy in Kelvin life, which was dealt with through an unjust way from all parties involved. Yes, it is possible for Kelvin to gain justice, which will begin through his suing been backed by his club and the league as a whole. Although there is a promise to take care of his expenses, this appears uncertain and commitment should be indicated through a fair hearing for his tragedy. Social control should be put in place to help in preventing undesirable things from further happening in Kelvin’s life. Art should be tried for his actions, which seem rather open as indicated by the title of his book. Efforts to seek justice should not be seen as bad publicity for the game but should be treated as an open warning to future players of malicious practices and instill discipline on Art.
In conclusion, a Kelvin talent is what is wasted through the tragedy but his life remains intact as he can gain advantage in other healthy ways. There should be efforts by the league to support Kelvin in achieving justice, as they are the ones who hold fate of the direction that the case will take. Through analyzing the consequences, a morally inspired decision will be made which will result to justice to all parties involved. Kelvin and his loved ones can make good out of the tragedy by using it as a platform to rally for future justice and talk about it through writing and talk shows.

THE QUESTION:
Arendt concludes that the whole trial (and maybe the whole horrible history of the events that
made the trial necessary) was a long course in the word and thought defying banality of evil.
What do you think she meant by this? In what way or ways might evil be banal? Does “banality of
evil” seem to you to be a plausible explanation of how crimes against humanity are perpetrated?
Are you drawn toward Arendt’s point of view or do you have problems with it?CLICK HERE TO ORDER THIS ESSAY!!!!
SOME THINGS YOU MIGHT THINK ABOUT AS YOU PREPARE TO ANSWER THE QUESTION (These are not
questions you are expected to answer. Think of the items below as a sort of study guide to help  you think about your answer):
To what extent (if any) does Arendt’s “banality of evil” thesis explain Eichmann’s role in the  Holocaust or how he came to be a perpetrator of mass murder and crimes against humanity?
To what extent (if any) does Arendt’s “banality of evil” thesis explain the complicity and  cooperation of ordinary people not only in Germany but also in occupied countries with Nazi  mass murder and crimes against humanity?
To what extent (if any) does Arendt’s “banality of evil” thesis explain the behavior of victims  and especially the leaders of victim communities?
There are also examples in Arendt’s book of times, places and people whose behavior broke with  the general pattern of complicity with Nazi crimes. To what extent (if any) might Arendt’s  “banality of evil” thesis be contradicted or supported by acts of resistance?
In what way or ways is Arendt critical of the Eichmann trial and/or policies of the Israeli  government? To what extent (if any) does she seem to suggest that banal (everyday, ordinary,  bureaucratic, political) evil can appear among any people, even those who have been victims?
To what extent (if any) does Arendt think the “banality of evil” thesis relates to the current  moral position of the Germans?CLICK HERE TO ORDER THIS ESSAY!!!!

Project description
Business Statistics – Capstone Project
Fall Semester 2013
Theme: Confidence Intervals

Project Objective:

The objective of this capstone project is to provide you with an opportunity to employ in practice the statistical tools and concepts you have learned in this statistics course and to further help in cementing these ideas into part of your skill set as a successful business manager.

Like all real world applications, it is not expected that through the completion of this project you will have utilized every statistical technique that you have learned in this class. Rather, an objective of the assignment will be for you to determine which of the statistical tools and techniques are appropriate to employ for the situation you have selected. However, in this particular case you will be utilizing things like descriptive statistics, computing a confidence interval (at confidence level of your choosing) and then conducting an appropriate hypothesis test (at alpha level of your choice).

Project Description:

You are to estimate the population mean (or proportion) of your choosing and then verifying the same result with an appropriate hypothesis test. You can choose any area of your interest to do this.

For example, if I were interested in estimating the average age of University students, I would collect a random sample (preferably a large sample of 100+ students) by asking them about their age. Then I will input this data in Excel and make histogram to check for the shape of distribution, compute sample average, sample standard deviation, standard error and so forth. Then I will compute a confidence interval at a specific confidence level and perhaps do a hypothesis tests at a suitable alpha level to verify my results.

You can work in teams of up to four individuals and collect data and submit this report. You cannot do this project about estimating age as I have presented in the example above but choose a different subject. Remember, that it can also be about estimating population proportion for example, what proportion of students are Hispanics, or what proportion of women are over 5 6 tall, or what proportion of male students weigh more than 170 lbs., etc. Be creative.

Guidelines for Selecting a Project:

The following points will constitute critical success factors for your project. Please pay close attention to these points as they will be used as guidelines for grading your project. The final report should be presented in a professional format using the style and format prescribed below.

Creativity of the Project:

Choosing a project topic is a challenge for most students. You should choose a topic related to your work or your area of study in the Business School about which data can easily be collected from various business classes. You can collect data from any of the OIS-2340 sections.

You need to collect data (preferably from other students by asking them a question(s) or using a survey no downloads are allowed.

Use Excel to conduct your analysis for computing descriptive statistics, confidence intervals, hypothesis testing, p-values etc., but make sure to describe it in English as to what is going on and what the output means.

Report Writing (your project should be submitted in the following format):

Your report needs to leave a professional business impression in both writing quality and its physical appearance. Do not try to make it unnecessary long by leaving lots of white space or large font size. At the same time you must not leave out vital information from it. Most of all it should be:

Free of spelling and grammar errors.
Single space with a 12-point font size
You should have a cover page with your name(s) and relevant class information and the title of your project.
You should have a page of Executive Summary in which you briefly describe what you were trying to accomplish, what you did, how you did it, what you found and what your recommendations and conclusions are.
You should have an analysis section with Excel output and description in English what you are doing, which equations you used and why and most importantly what do the answers imply.
You should have a conclusion page describing what your results mean and if any inferences should be drawn from them.
Please attach all raw data in an appendix at the end.

The following guidelines will be used in grading your Capstone Project:

5 points for presentation this means that the cover page should have the right names and section numbers and stapled at the top. The name of the Project, the class number, name of your instructor, correct grammar and free of spelling errors.

20 points for the Executive Summary this should describe what the project was all about, how you collected data, (actual data or surveys should be attached in an appendix) what methods were used and why, what the results mean and if any inferences can be made as a consequence. This page is usually written after the project is completed but is placed as the first page for executives (in this case your TAs) to gain the essence of your work. Having read this page, a person should know all about your project. Be brief but concise.

50 points for analysis this should include Excel output and a detail written description (preferably in English) of what all the numbers from Excel output mean and what should be inferred from them. It should describe in English what this analysis is all about, which hypothesis are getting tested and why. Which confidence intervals are getting computed and what they mean. What confidence level was chosen and why, what alpha level was chosen and why, what type of hypothesis was done i.e., lower tail, upper tail, or two tail and why.

5 points for Summary It describes once again the results and what they imply and any recommendations you may have as a consequence of having gone through the analysis. What would you do differently if you had more resources, etcetera?

20 points for using:
o superior writing quality and correct grammar
o free of spelling errors
o 12 point single space font
o addressing ethical issues if any
o descriptive in nature

.Put yourself in the position of marketing manager for the restaurant organization. ◦You will need to gather some information before writing. You should also look into the secondary literature regarding current information in restaurant sales.

Distribution •Identify the most effective methods for getting products/services to customers in the target market. •Identify need for warehousing of products and for distribution channels if not sold direct to buyer.

http://retiredlecturers.com

Pricing •Review the following four-step process for setting a price. ◦Establishing pricing goals ◦Estimate demand, costs, and profits ◦Choose a price strategy ◦Fine-tune with pricing tactics ◦Enter values into table

•Be sure all products/services carry their share of expenses plus provide for profit. •Compare prices for your products/services with similar products/services in the industry. ◦If your prices will be higher, they need to provide the necessary “added value” to justify. ◦If your prices are lower, explain why in terms of your marketing strategy.

Website Sales •What price would you sell your products on your web-site? •What would be the profit for each pie you sell online? ◦(Be sure to include a discussion of other costs, such as the website, shipping and packaging).

•What marketing strategy would affect your decision?

Alternate Sales Venues/Price •If you sold 1,000 units (pies) to a convenience store instead of the website, would that change your pricing? Why or why not? •What price would you charge to sell 2,000 pies individually on the street, at a food fair or on eBay? •What marketing strategies would you consider for lowering your costs for alternative sales venues?

Before you start writing—read all of the material for this week’s assignment. As you read, highlight the areas of the text that align to this week’s paper.

Next, take a few minutes to write an outline. This will save you a lot of time if you do this before starting to write. Here is an example of a sample outline for this paper. Your outline will look different—it will have the specifics that you intend to include in your paper.

the Elephant and blind men
Paper instructions:
The parable of the Elephant and blind men has been widely repeated through various religious traditions in India for centuries and more recently throughout the whole world. Read the version of the story found on this Jainist website:

http://www.jainworld.com/literature/story25.htm

A brief version of the parable is also found in the Hick essay in your text on page 636.

http://retiredlecturers.com

As the website notes “The moral of the story is that there may be some truth to what someone says. Sometimes we can see that truth and sometimes not because they may have different perspective which we may not agree too. So, rather than arguing like the blind men, we should say, “Maybe you have your reasons.” This way we don’t get in arguments. In Jainism, it is explained that truth can be stated in seven different ways. So, you can see how broad our religion is. It teaches us to be tolerant towards others for their viewpoints. This allows us to live in harmony with the people of different thinking” Applied to competing views of God, this perspective says even seemingly contradictory views of God can have truth.

Which approach to religious diversity does this perspective most reflect? Assess the validity of this approach to religious diversity and provide reasons to support your position
Each paper should be between 400-500 words (approximately 1.5 to 2 typed pages double spaced). You do not need to do any research for these papers beyond the assigned class readings, but be sure to properly cite the use of any secondary sources. Papers MUST cite specific passages from the course text according to MLA style or APA Style.

Social Media: Argument

Introduction:

. . . think about your own experiences with social media. To what extent have you come to rely on your friend’s profiles status updates, or Twitter feeds to mark events and occurrences in their lives? How much of your social life do you manage in person, and how much do you manage through the devices (cell phones, laptops, netbooks) that increasingly dominate our lives? –Alfano and O’Brien

Assignment Description: Choose one of the following topics:

1.

Criticize or celebrate a form of social media for its effects on culture.

2.

Argue whether or not the self-reflective aspect of Facebook leads to greater happiness, as Clive Thompson concludes in “I’m So Totally, Digitally, Close to You.”

3.

Argue whether or not Twitter or other social media can be an effective tool for social activists (see Evgeny Morozov, “From Slacktivism to Activism”).

In order to earn a C or above, your essay should include the following:

At least two additional, reliable sources that you research on your own.

At least one article from “Social Lives and Social Media” section of Ch. 11 (summaries and paraphrases in your own words and sentence structure, as well as some brief, correctly integrated direct quotations).

A minimum of 4 FULL double-spaced pages (not 3-1/2 or 3-3/4). Every available line should be used.

Do not include a cover page.

12-point Times New Roman font and 1” margins.

An introduction that sets up your argument.

Effectively organized paragraphs with strong topic sentences and transitions.

Proper MLA page headers.

Proper MLA in-text citations for all paraphrases and direct quotations from the article.

A conclusion that does not merely restate your thesis but that leaves the reader with further ‘food for thought.’

A works cited page in correct MLA format (which does NOT count towards your page minimum) since you will be quoting and paraphrasing from at least two sources total.

Additional criteria:

…….

A thesis that puts forth a clear, debatable argument.

Facts, statistics, and/or expert opinions that support your argument. You may include quotes when the language the writer uses either cannot be said any other way, or is so special you want to call attention to it. You should mostly summarize and paraphrase information from the researched articles you have found. Your essay should indicate that you have actually read and learned new information from your sources, not merely found a few things to quote.

When you do quote, the quotes should be properly integrated (no drop quotes) and use MLA style.

Clear and concise writing, with proper vocabulary.

You may use your own experiences and the experiences of others to support your ideas, but most of your support for your thesis should come from outside sources.

…….
