You have covered a number of theories in child development this term, as well as how these theories help you to understand the developmental process from birth through adolescence. Piaget, Erikson, Vygotsky, Kohlberg, attachment theory, nature versus nurture, the influence of SES, and cultural implications are some of the major theories and concepts.

For this assignment first, select one developmental stage such as infancy — ages birth to 2; early childhood — ages 3 to 6; middle childhood — ages 7 to 12; or adolescence — ages 13 to 18. Explain the physical, social, and cognitive changes that are components of that stage of development.

Second, select and discuss one theory or concept that fits best with the stage of development you are discussing. Describe and explain the theory, list the theorist (if there is any), and how this theory appropriately fits with your selected developmental stage. For example, you might select infancy, and then describe the physical, social and cognitive changes that are part of infant development.

Then select one theory, for example Erikson’s Psychosocial Stages of Development, and explain what this theory says about infancy. This is just an example and you are certainly not limited to this idea. Lastly, discuss the impact that cultural factors could have on your selected stage of development. For example, in the infancy example you could discuss how culture may affect parenting styles.

Be sure to use academic sources such as your textbook or selected research articles from the Kaplan Library. Please use at least one other reference for your project besides the textbook for a total of two references. The Kaplan Library is the best place to find research articles. (I will add an academic source so you only need to add a minimum of 1 reference)

Please type your project using 12-point Times New Roman font and double-space your paper.

This project should be 500 – 800 words in length.

You must refer to the reading resources and provide a citation using the APA format for any sources used in the form of in-text citations.

Remember to include a title page at the start of, and a reference list at the conclusion of, your essay. Please refer to the APA Quick Reference link in the Course Home section of class or consult the Kaplan University Writing Center for assistance.

You can ask your professor or the Kaplan University Writing Center for assistance with APA formatting as well.

I can go back in and add some references from my text and course activities as long as the rest of the paper is done correctly J

In this course, you have been introduced to ethics, social problems, and social policy. This assignment will prompt action from you to help resolve a social issue. You must learn about a problem, find a piece of legislation addressing your concern, and act to help solve the problem.

Using the textbook, the Argosy University online library resources, and the Internet, do the following:

1. Identify the Problem

Select and research denial of same sex marriage (I’m for same sex marriage) (I live in Colorado)

Then, address the following:

  • Define and describe the social issue in detail using a variety of relevant outside sources.
  • Explain the social context of the social issue.
  • Identify and describe ethical concerns related to the social issue.
  • Determine what population is most impacted by the social issue.

2. Find the Legislation

Use credible government sources to find and learn about a piece of legislation related to your chosen social problem or issue.

Then, address the following:

  • Explain how the piece of current legislation relates to the social problem or issue. Make sure you provide a description of the piece of legislation.

3. Write an Advocacy Letter

In order to help resolve the social issue, you must take action. Identify your elected representative(s) and find their contact and e-mail addresses.

Write an advocacy letter regarding the piece of legislation and your support of or opposition to it.

The purpose of an advocacy letter is to support or oppose the legislation that affects a social issue of concern to you. This letter is a way for representatives to stay in touch with the constituents they represent. The letter consists of a brief introduction identifying and addressing the social issue of concern (through personal experience, if applicable), an identification of the piece of current legislation that addresses your chosen issue, and your request advocating your representative to support or oppose the legislation.

Be sure to address the following in your letter:

  • Identify the purpose of your letter.
  • Identify House bill (HR) or Senate bill (S) number of the legislation.
  • Briefly summarize the social problem or issue.
  • Explain the importance of the legislation as it relates to your issue.
  • Advocate for or against the legislation in a knowledgeable and respectful tone. This includes the following:
    • Evaluating the proposed impact of the legislation on target population

You are currently the Internal Controls Director for Twitter, Inc. in San Francisco, CA. It is a gorgeous
Friday afternoon, and you are packing your bags and about to head down to Fisherman’s Wharf to for a
brisk jog, followed by a delicious bowl of seafood chowder. Can it get any better than this?
As you lean over to grab your bag, your iPhone starts buzzing and you see a text message from the CFO
that says “Check your e-mail NOW!” You frantically unpack your laptop and reboot the machine,
discovering the following email from the CFO:
I was just running some reports to prepare the quarterly financial reports when I noticed some unusual items. I need your help as the boss wants everything no later than noon on Sunday (or else, right?). We purchased 3,000 new iPhones this quarter for the new “Tweet Your Heart Out” campaign, but the total dollar value attached to the purchase seems inaccurate. The total in the accounting system is showing as $50,000. That can’t be accurate! I can’t seem to locate any of the underlying records, and to be quite honest, I don’t even know what I’m looking for. Is it possible we didn’t order them yet, or perhaps we didn’t receive them? Maybe it’s none of the above. You know me;
clueless when it comes to these financial issues. Shh, don’t tell the boss that!
Please help! I need to know 1) what source documents I need and why I need them, 2) why the balance in the accounting system could possibly be so low, and 3) how I should go about fixing this problem so it doesn’t happen again.
I need a detailed response by midnight tonight. I’m headed out to that new club downtown tonight. Maybe we can catch up tomorrow sometime. Thanks!
Your heart sinks. There will be no seafood chowder in your near future. You can’t believe the CFO
doesn’t understand basic purchasing procedures and admitted it in an email. Alas, it’s time to stop
pouting and get to work!
Description of Assignment:
You are responsible for preparing a professional memo response to the CFO. Your memo must include, at
a minimum, answers to the 3 questions asked by the CFO in his email. It is the expectation that your
memo will be detailed and thorough. This assignment cannot be completed in just a few short sentences,
and you will need to think through some scenarios of how the recording of the value of the phones could
possibly be so low. There is no minimum length required, but I do not believe students can properly
answer these questions in any less than a single-spaced, 11 point font, full page memo. Most students will
likely need to write even more than that. You must use a business format, which includes proper
grammar and spelling. Please edit your work.
Acceptable file formats for this assignment are .doc, .docx, or pdf ONLY. Submissions not meeting these
stated criteria will be assigned a grade of ‘0’.

Point Value & Associated Rubric:
Evaluation Criteria
Assignment is completed in a business letter format
Letter utilizes proper punctuation, spelling and grammar
Each of the 3 questions posed by the CFO are answered thoroughly and completely

Natalia was incensed that her former boyfriend, Otto, had formed a new relationship with Pamela. She decided to frighten Otto and Pamela, so at midnight she took some petrol and poured it through the letter box of the house where the couple were living, setting fire to it by using a lighted match. Unknown to Natalia, Otto and Pamela had gone to London for the weekend and Ruth, Pamela’s mother, was staying at the house to care for Pamela’s child, Tina.
The resulting fire was very fierce. Ruth and Tina were rescued by Vince, a neighbour, but Ruth was badly burnt and died at the scene. Tina was taken to hospital suffering from serious burns, Vince from breathing difficulties caused by smoke inhalation. Tina was taken to the operating theatre. The anaesthetist failed to notice that the oxygen supply tube had become disconnected and Tina died. Vince died from a previously undiagnosed heart abnormality.
Discuss any criminal liability which arises.

Markets Prices and Strategy
To prepare for the resit test 2, you should go through the cost calculation questions and answers in the seminars. I also provided an additional cost question with answers to help. Remember there is a big cost calculation question with a lot of marks in this test. You should also go through the news story for the case study again and try to work out answers to questions asked about demand, short run average costs, economies of scale and profit in competition as these are all questions in the test.
