You will develop an analytical framework containing three to five categories that you deem important to successful leadership based upon the various historical leadership models we have read about in Weeks 1-3. An analytic framework can be considered a process chart that allows you to visualize how proposed model components fit together, that is, the elements or categories that comprise and operate within the model. One category must be the leader/follower exchange, how the leader and followers interact. Other categories will be selected based on the specific model(s) that you choose.
You will then apply your analytical framework to a current leadership scenario based upon your personal/professional experience.
Evaluation is a combination of drawing on available elements and using critical thinking to reach conclusions. In evaluating leadership, you might look at who will use the model, why they would use the model, and what the goals might be.
Write a 1,050- to 1,400-word paper critically analyzing and evaluating a leadership scenario based on your analytical framework developed from our Week 1-3 readings and any additional research obtained from the University Library resources.
Include the following in your paper:
Explore the historical similarities and differences of the leadership philosophies reviewed in the Week 3 readings.
Develop and describe your analytical framework.
Evaluate a current leadership scenario using your analytical framework.
Describe the conclusion you drew from your critical analysis and critical evaluation of the readings.
Relate your conclusions to your personal leadership practices.
Use unbiased language to avoid, perpetuate, or reinforce stereotypes
Use a minimum of five references to support the criteria, assumptions, or context of your evaluation. References should be peer-reviewed articles, journals, and scholarly literature located in the University Library.
Format your paper consistent with APA guidelines.

Information for the person writing the letter of invitation
Writing a letter of invitation does not mean you are legally responsible for the visitor once he or she gets to Canada. You should still write the letter in good faith. You must tell the truth and plan to keep the promises you make in the letter.

Send your letter (notarized, if the visa office asks for that) to the person you are inviting to Canada. The person must then send this letter to the Canadian embassy or consulate outside of Canada when he or she applies for a temporary resident visa.

You must include this information about the person you are inviting:

complete name,
date of birth,
address and telephone number,
your relationship to the person,
the purpose of the trip,
how long the person plans to stay in Canada,
where the person will stay, and how he or she will pay for things, and
when the person plans to leave Canada.
You must include this information about yourself:

complete name,
date of birth,
address and telephone number in Canada,
job title,
whether you are a Canadian citizen or permanent resident,
a photocopy of a document proving your status in Canada, such as
a Canadian birth certificate, if you were born in Canada,
a Canadian citizenship card, if you are a naturalized citizen, or
a copy of your PR card or your IMM 1000 proof of landing, if you are a permanent resident,
details of your family, such as names and dates of birth of your spouse and dependants (this is mandatory for the parent and grandparent super visa), and
the total number of people living in your household, including people you sponsored whose sponsorship is still in effect (this is mandatory for the parent and grandparent super visa).

Assignment:

Develop an idea for a product (or service) and imagine that you are the business owner trying to convince a local retail outlet to carry (or use) it. Use the Internet and other resources if necessary to gather information about similar products or services. For example: If you’re interested in marketing a new energy drink, research existing companies for ideas to make your product realistic. Do NOT use an existing brand for your product/service; be creative and come up with your own idea.

Your task is to write an unsolicited informal sales proposal in letter format to the owner (or manager) of the business proposing that the item be stocked or that your service be used.
[In Ch 11 pay close attention to the section “Planning Proposal.” Note the discussion of unsolicited proposals.]

Use the information you gathered to describe some of the product’s (or service’s) features and benefits to the business. Then make up some reasonable figures, highlighting what the item costs, what it can be sold for, and what services your company provides (return of unsold items, free replacement of unsatisfactory items, necessary repairs, and related issues). If you’re proposing a specific service also provide figures and contract terms.

Remember the specific purpose of your proposal is to convince a business to carry a particular product or use a particular service. To do this, you will want to consider the interests and concerns of your audience. Although your audience may not have an initial interest in your product, they are interested in marketing products that sell in sufficient volume and with sufficient markup to contribute to the store’s profit. If you’re proposing a service, then the audience will want to know how it will benefit their business in specific ways.

Prepare your proposal carefully. If readers approve the proposal, it forms the basis of a contract, so be certain to spell out precisely what your company will provide under specific terms and conditions.

Develop a product or service idea that you are truly interested in since your passion for what you have to offer will be apparent in your proposal. Proposing something that you really care about will make it both more enjoyable to write and more convincing to your audience.

The completed proposal should range from 3-4 pages in length in letter format, using single-spaced block paragraphs with double-spacing between each paragraph; also use subheadings to guide your reader through the proposal. This assignment is considered an informal proposal and so should NOT include prefatory or supplementary materials (title page, executive summary, appendices, etc.).

Different organizations require different approaches to training based on organizational type, mission, and structure; the target group; and specific training objectives. For this reason, a template and specific organizational information are not provided. You are encouraged to determine training needs and to design a training plan and structure that fit your chosen organization (one with which you are familiar).

Focus on a particular issue, goal, and target group (managers, specific department, new employees) so that the authentic assessment will be manageable in the eight-week timeframe. Your scope may be that of an entire training program or that of a single workshop. Note that a comprehensive training plan for a single workshop is better for the purposes of this course than a less perfect plan of larger scope.

Position yourself as a developer, instructional designer, or director of training for the organization of your choice, real or fictitious. The assignments will guide you in the sequential development of a specific training plan for your chosen organization, and will follow the sequence in the textbook, discussions, and readings.

PAPER 1 INSTRUCTIONS
The Foundation of Orthodoxy and the Canon

As you have seen and will continue to see in your readings, there were key areas of dispute in the early church on essential matters such as the nature, humanity, and deity of Christ. Also, groups such as the Gnostics brought in an entirely new set of presupposed beliefs to the faith that came alongside the faith and, in sum, compromised tenets of the faith, which were based upon the truth of Christ’s teachings as conveyed to his followers. Given this, there was a need to clarify what were the true writings that conveyed this truth in light of the fact that many times the heretical parties involved would present texts and teach them as being the writing of the Apostles.

In light of this, write a 5-page research paper (12-point Times New Roman font, 1-inch margins on all sides, double-spaced) focusing on the key events and movements that were influential in the recognition of the canonical books. In addition, look at the methodology employed by the applicable individuals and councils that deemed books as the inspired word of God.

Use 5 scholarly sources. Your textbook does not count. You may use scholarly websites, but also use at least 2 scholarly articles and/or books. You can find scholarly articles through the Liberty University Library (which you used in the research exercise). If you need help finding scholarly books, you can use books.google.com. Be careful to choose scholarly sources; do not use Wikipedia or blogs. If you are uncertain if a source is scholarly, feel free to send an email with the source information to your instructor; he will let you know. Use current Turabian reference styling when preparing your references.

Submit your completed paper as an attachment through SafeAssign by 11:59 p.m. (ET) on Monday of Module/Week 3. Also upload your paper to the proper Discussion Board Forum at the same time.
