Promotion

This section will provide a comprehensive look at the promotional strategies of your organization. Begin with a look at the promotional objectives or themes used by your company. From there, review the promotional mix, this should include a preliminary discussion of the importance of IMC to your company. Promotion methods such as personal selling mass selling (advertising and publicity) and sales promotion should all be addressed in detail.

Competitive Advantage

Competitive advantage is an important goal of every company, so address whether your company has a competitive advantage WITH RESPECT TO PROMOTION. The idea is to discuss whether your company has a competitive advantage with respect to how they promote their products. Again, this section should only discuss whether your company has a competitive advantage with respect to promotion (product, price and place are discussed in other sections). Once you have stated your position, remember to include your rationale. BBA

-Consideration of a proposal to create a political party that shall run candidates advocating the immediate abolition of slavery throughout these States.

-Consideration of a proposal that we support a movement sponsored by one Henry David Thoreau to cease paying our taxes to this Government of Slave Owners, even if we must go to jail as a consequence.

-Consideration of proposal that our organization fight for the emancipation of the enslaved – Negro and Women – with equal vigor and immediacy.

-Consideration of a proposal that the Northern free states secede from the Union because the U.S. Constitution has been from its inception a pro-slavery document.

-Consideration of a proposal sent to us in secret by a free Negro who is currently planning to seize a federal arsenal in an unspecified border state by armed force.  His intentions are to create a general slave uprising within that state which will free that state.  He wishes to know if we will:  A)Send him money to aid his cause.  B) Send him men among you ready to fight.

After consideration of these proposals and a vote on the same, the meeting shall be adjourned.

Write a 1,050- to 1,400-word paper answering the following question:
How do poetry and fiction written in the decades between World War I and World War II relate? As you work on this primary question, you may find it useful to consider the following related questions:
o Did poetry and fiction address the same concerns in the decades between the wars?
o Do they reflect the same issues?
o Are they influenced by the same trends and outside forces?
o Does environment influence one set of writers more than another?
o Is poetry more heavily influenced by other art forms, such as jazz? What is your evidence? o Is fiction more heavily influenced by other forms of prose, like the essay? What is your evidence? Support your claims with evidence from the works assigned. No sources beyond the textbook are required, but you may use such sources if you choose.

Format your paper consistent with APA guidelines.

Due Week 10 and worth 100 points

As a way of experiencing the Humanities beyond your classroom, computer, and textbook, you are asked to do a certain type of “cultural activity” that fits well with our course and then report on your experience. Your instructor will require you to propose an activity and get instructor approval before you do it and report on it (students should look for any instructions in that respect). Every effort should be made to ensure that this is a hands-on experience (not a virtual one), that this activity fits the HUM 111 class well, and that the activity is of sufficient quality for this university course. The two (2) key types of activities are a museum visit or a performance. Note: This must not be a report on the same activity (and certainly not the same report) as done for another class, like HUM 112. For instance, one might go to the same museum as done for HUM 112, but this HUM 111 report will focus on entirely different works and displays.

Situational Leadership Theory and Organizational Leadership

As the new top-level executive of a medium-sized corporation, you have noticed that the leadership culture in the organization has been ineffective, which has lowered employee morale. To change the leadership culture you have decided to discuss this issue with all the managers and supervisors in the organization. Prior to meeting with all the managers and supervisors, you have decided that you need to develop a how-to guide on effective leadership.
In a four- to five-page paper (excluding the title and references pages), explain why situational leadership theory is useful and relevant in developing an effective leadership culture. Describe the three theories of situational leadership and what you consider to be the strengths and weaknesses of each theory when leading staff in the organizational environment.

The written assignment should include at least three scholarly sources, in addition to the text, and be formatted according to APA style as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center.

Frederick Winslow Taylor (1856-1915) utilized a “scientific management” system that enabled his clients (and those who would soon indirectly apply his methods) to perform at a more profitable and productive rate. Taylor, who was a self-proclaimed progressive, demonstrated to those who sought out his services exactly  “how to cut waste and increase productivity…by breaking down work activities…into a sequence of mechanical steps and using stopwatches to measure the time it took each worker to perform each step in a task.” Furthermore “Taylor established detailed performance standards” such as a monetary incentive “for each job classification, specifying how fast people doing each job should work and when they should rest.” According to Taylor such a system needed to be implanted due to man’s natural sluggishness without incentives, “Men will not do an extraordinary day’s work for an ordinary day’s pay.” He also maintained that, with such a system in place, strikes would be eliminated.

10,000 gallons per day of wastewater enters a 1500 gallon activated sludge tank.  The raw wastewater has a SS = 200 ppm and a BOD = 230 ppm.  The MLSS needs to be 2800 ppm and the effluent SS should be less than 10 ppm.  The total wasted sludge has a Q of 5 GPD with a SS concentration of 6000 ppm.

  1. Calculate the recycle flow, Qr, required. (8710 GPD)
  2. Calculate the F/M ratio in lbs BOD/lbs SS – day (0.55  lb BOD/lb SS-day)
  3. Calculate the BOD Loading in lbs BOD/day – 1000 ft3(95.6)

  1. Based on these calculations, is the activated sludge tank over designed or under designed?  What could you do to remedy this situation?

Q2)   Colloidal gold has been released into the water supply from an electronics manufacturing plant.  These particles are 0.1 mm in size with a specific gravity of 19.3.  Your water treatment plant has 3 clarifiers each with a volume of 0.3 million gallons and a height of 6 ft. The total flow going into all 3 clarifiers is 5 MGD.
