Scenario: Imagine that you are the vice president of operations at a production or service organization. You have noticed that your organization’s current operations strategy is not supporting the challenges that the organization is presently facing. In order to maintain a competitive edge, you must address these challenges with your Chief Executive Officer immediately.

Select an existing production organization. Analyze the organization’s current vision, mission, business strategy, operation strategy, supply chain, total quality management, just-in-time philosophy, forecasting method, statistical technique, facility location, work design, project life cycle, and project management. Note: You will need this information in order to complete this and subsequent assignments.

As you collect the information for Assignment 1 and Assignment 2, remember that in Assignment 3 you must prepare a presentation for your Chief Executive Officer.

Write a three to five (3-5) page paper in which you:

Evaluate key elements of the selected production or service organization’s operational efficiency with its operational strategy. Determine three (3) tasks that do not align with the operational strategy. Determine the weaknesses that are evident in each task. Formulate a new operations strategy for the selected organization based on the four (4) competitive priorities (i.e., cost, quality, time, and flexibility). Analyze both the structure of the competitive priorities and infrastructure of the production process. Develop three (3) new enablers that are aligned with the long-term plan of the selected organization. Evaluate three (3) pros and three (3) cons of the new enablers. Part C Recommendations (40 points) 1. Make two (2) recommendations for increasing your corporation’s shareholder wealth in the future. This includes ensuring long term survival as well as meeting and exceeding your shareholders expectations for the generation of their wealth in the short term and the long term. 2. Your two (2) recommendations should be well supported by information contained in your written analysis and your supporting information should be specifically identified in this section to justify your recommendations. 3. Your two (2) recommendations should be accompanied by your expectations for your corporation and its industry if your recommendations were adopted. Your expectations should include the impact to the industry structure, the likely response of competitors, and both positive and negative consequence should be identified.

In your conclusion, suggest other statistical approaches that could have been used and, if appropriate, suggest alternative interpretations of the results. This process will allow you to apply the concepts learned throughout the course in the interpretation of actual scientific research. Your critique must include the following sections:

Introduction: This section will include a general introduction of the quantitative study from a peer-reviewed source published within the last 10 years. The research questions and/or hypothesis(es) as well as the purpose of the study should be clearly defined. Methods: Describe and evaluate the procedures and methods of data collection, measures/instruments used, the participants and how they were selected, and the statistical techniques used. Results: In this section describe and critique the results presented in the study. Discussion: Discuss and evaluate the efficacy of the results presented in the study. Address, the strengths, weaknesses, and limitations of the study, and suggest future research directions. Include additional forms of statistical analyses as part of the suggestions for future research. The Research Study Critique:

Welcome to the world of New York. all the toy companies display their products. It is also where the major trade shows and competitions are held. Buyers frequently come to the showroom to preview new and exciting products.

For Briggs (fictitious company for school assignment), maintaining the right image is critical. Most of their marketing people are in New York for that reason. However, the marketers are also on the road a lot. Therefore, the receptionist at the showroom may need to show clients around when the marketers are not present. Evaluate your model utilizing the general criteria provided in the text. You are required to use at least two outside sources to support your position.

Develop a three to five page APA style paper in which you research and discuss one of the major civil rights initiatives of the last century. The focus of your paper should be on the initiative’s impact on current and future public policies. How have these initiatives and policies affected the average American citizen?

You are required to use at least two outside sources to support your analysis.

Week 6 Due 15th

The Capstone Paper should demonstrate understanding of the reading as well as the implications of new knowledge. The ten to fifteen page paper should integrate readings, class discussions, field research, and literature review into proposed solution. It may include explanation and examples from previous experiences as well as implications for future applications.

Your capstone paper should focus on a topic selected which was done in Week Two. In this project, you will examine a specific political or social issue. Topics may include general issues such as poverty, crime, homelessness, economic development, homeland security, corporate social responsibility, ecological/environmental projects, etc. or a specific issue in your city, community, local, state, or federal governmental, etc. You will: •Develop a public policy to address the issue.
