Can you give me your opinion on this: The CFO comes up to you one night and asks you to go out for a drink with her.

She tells you that she is scared out of her mind. She tells you that large amounts of compensation that were paid to the CEO were disguised and not reported properly.

She says that the Board thinks the CEO was paid total compensation of 1.5
million when in fact he really was paid 5 million in compensation, in part through disguised off shore accounts.

She tells you that she was having an “affair” with the CEO at the time and participated in hiding this compensation to the CEO. In return, she tells you, she received a very large but undisguised bonus.

She tells you all was fine until an auditor started asking questions today. After talking with her the auditor walked straight into the office of the Sr. VP for ERM.

She wants your advice. What should she do? Has SOX been violated?

What are the potential penalties? Should she hire a lawyer?

Should she come clean? She want your advice as to what she should do.

What do you say? Do you now have to report this since you both work for the same Company?

From those statements, calculate the financial ratios for Apple for each of the past 5 years, as noted below. 1. Your table should have six columns, each labeled for one year, plus a column for the mean value for the entire period.

Part B Next, review Apple’s stated strategy for each of these years and analyze each Apple ratio from one year to the next during this time period. Be sure to explain what the ratio indicates in general, as well as with respect to the specific period. Discuss whether the ratios support Apple’s strategies or if changes are indicated. Identify any trends that you detect from one year to the next. As an example, let us state, hypothetically, that Apple’s Current Ratio has been declining over several periods. Locke maintained that each of us has the power to decide which religious community to join, if any. Ajax Fuels, Inc., is developing a new additive for airplane fuels. The additive is a mixture of three ingredients: A, B, and C.

For proper performance, the total amount of additive (amount of A + amount of B + amount of C) must be at least 10 ounces per gallon of fuel. However, because of safety reason, the amount of additive must not exceed 15 ounces per gallon of fuel. The mix or blend of the three ingredients is critical. At least 1 ounce of ingredient A must be used for every ounce of ingredient B, and the amount of ingredient C must be greater than or equal to one half the amount of ingredient A.

If the costs per ounce for ingredients A, B, and C are $ 0.10, $0.03 and $ 0.09, respectively, find the minimum-cost mixture of A, B, and C for each gallon of airplane fuel.
