This section should be a 3-4 page personal reflection essay on your entire semester in I101. We want you to hone in on at least 2 general topics/areas that you enjoyed (that you did not write about in your midterm paper).

INTRODUCTION:

What can we look forward to in this paper? Properly introduce the paper as a whole.

BODY:

You can do a mix-and-match of several topics that you enjoyed the most or target a particular lab or lecture that you enjoyed. You can also select a topic and extend on it to real-world examples and the like as you did in weekly lecture checks (although you MAY NOT reuse lecture check material). Your essay should be substantially based on a mix of course lectures, online lectures, and/or labs. You are welcome to use other resources that you research but this is a personal reflection on what YOU have learned in the class.

As mentioned in the “research requirements” listed at the top of this assignment, you should include at least 2 lecture citations FOR THIS SECTION in addition to the other research you have gathered – just find something to use in your essay to support your writing and what you are trying to say. Please use MLA citation (in-line too!)

“Questionnaires,” Interviews with 12 Contemporary Artists, in Art School
(Propositions for the 21st Century). (Steven Madoff, ed., 2009)
“How to Be an Artist by Night,” by Raqs Media Collective, in Art School
(Propositions for the 21st Century). (Steven Madoff, ed., 2009)
ESSAY TOPIC:
Write an essay (600 words, minimum) reflecting on your experience as an art
student. If you are not an art student, adapt this essay to reflect your experience
with whatever degree you are working on.
Step 1: Having considered the multiple perspectives expressed in the above
readings, which of these resonates the most for you (discuss at least 2 specific
examples) – explain why they are of interest to you (do they parallel your own
experiences, do they represent points of view or experiences you had not
previously considered?).
Step 2: Offer your own answers to the questions asked in the Art School
questionnaires that seem relevant to you (you do not have to answer all of them).
Here are some additional questions you may want to consider: Why did you
choose this major? What did you hope to get out of the experience? How is it
going so far? How would you evaluate the program you are in? What do you
hope to be doing in 5 years? In 10 years? How has this program helped to
prepare you to move in that direction?

Read chapter 7 and Answer the following questions:1. Your firm regularly sells to customers in Germany, Poland, Japan, Canada, and Venezuela. How would you evaluate the creditworthiness of firms in each of these countries? How would the credit risk differ in each of these countries? What sources of information would you use? Under what circumstances would you consider selling to firms in these countries without a letter of credit? In which of these countries would you want an American bank to confirm the buyer’s letter of credit? Why? What additional protection does confirming the credit provide?
2. An advising bank presents documents to you for payment. How would you respond to each of the following discrepancies? Explain your answers.

a. The letter of credit calls for an ocean bill of lading. The seller presents a trucker’s bill of lading showing shipment to an ocean port.

b. The sales contract and the letter of credit call for shipment of “Soda Ash Light.” The invoice shows shipment of “Soda Ash Light,” but the bill of lading describes the shipment as “Soda Ash.”
c. The letter of credit calls for shipment of 1,000 kilograms. The invoice shows shipment of an equal amount in pounds.
d. The CIF contract with the letter of credit calls for onboard bill of lading to be dated by December 20. The bill of lading is dated December 20, but the insurance policy is dated December 21.

The professor said Fully discuss all aspects of both problems – including definitions of all legal terms and concepts, and legal analyses of issues. I especially remind you of the independence principle and the rule of strict compliance, and of Exhibit 7.4 (“Common Discrepancies Found in Documentation”).

Choose two ratios from each category. Based on these ratios and any other additional information available from the annual reports, compile a report comparing the performance of the companies selected.

You are required to submit this assignment to Turnitin.

Using two of our course texts, one from before and one after the midterm, produce an essay that explains how children’s literature can generate differing ideas about childhood.

To do this, you will need to select texts that differ from one another in their implications regarding what children are like, what they should read, and what children’s literature should do for them. Your paper should then include the following:

1. An overarching CLAIM that articulates and argues the distinct versions of childhood that are presented by each of your texts
2. Close reading and analysis that explains WHAT iterations you are focusing on, HOW they are constructed, and WHY this is important for understanding each narrative as a whole
3. A conclusion which discusses the importance of what you have analyzed in understanding each story, then broadening these implications to the larger functions and development of children’s literature, thinking especially about what it means that so many versions of what is appropriate for “children” exist
example of how the professor wants to claims and Evidence and Analysis from the two novels Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and The Giver

Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland understands the child as being problematically shaped by the education of her moment; in his portrayal of Alice Carroll suggests that the impressionability of children has subjected them to an educational system that is failing to produce knowledgeable adults. The Giver takes a similar approach to childhood, but rather than showing what is happening to children as a result of poor education, Lowry shows us a future in which educating children properly is the only hope for remedying a world of adults who have neglected the lessons that make them human. Both texts argue that children should be educated better, but Lowry’s young adult novel focuses on the future impact of failing to do so.
