please recognize that the shape of any forecast for the shoes that Margaret and Anthony propose must

have an inverted U shape. Sometime over the next 10 years every model will go out of style, be superceded

and be withdrawn from sale – no longer made and sold. Like the cycle described in M1. Your forecasts must reflect this.

Whose new shoe line will have a shorter life? Reflect this in your forecasts

They must start at zero sales and end at zero sales. If they do not you will lose 20% of your case grade. I hope this gets your attention.

And do not gripe about how you know nothing about forecasting shoe sales. Neither do apparently the case writers

or Anthony and Margaret? Ever increasing is just absurd as their product is a part fashion item experiencing technological evolution in materials

and construction And what is with the sudden spurts in year to year forecast sales???? So give it your best estimate.

Should they stay in the business. What does the capital creation say?

If not what should they do – strategically?

Using the reading provided by Mark Fortier, discuss and explore the Post- Colonial theory. Spend the first half of the paper talking about what this theory is, what are the fundamental aspects of it, and how this theory is connected to theatre. Then spend the second half of the paper exploring this theory in a specific real life example of your choosing. This example should be something related to theatre (such as a play, or movie, etc) but more importantly your example has to be something that you can really discuss and explore how the Post-Colonial theory directly applies. This is a paper about the Post-Colonial theory so do NOT under any circumstances discuss things that are not directly related to this theory and also do not spend any time discussing the plot of your example as it is very unnecessary. Just talk about what specifically relates to the Post-Colonial theory and why. Also please make sure this paper makes sense and flows properly.

Prompt 2

I choose prompt 2- “What you pawn I will redeem.” (Sherman Alexie 2003). In some stories, characters come into conflict with the culture in which they live. What interest me the most is how he lived comfortable being homeless. Today we view homeless as a last resort, it’s not something that we choose to do. Yet, this man adapted to his environment and lived a suitable life. Thesis: It takes a lot of courage and strength to be a homeless person. I would like to explore what it really takes to be a homeless person.

Updated thesis: It takes a lot of courage and strength to be a homeless person

Sources:

What does homeless mean?

http://www.homelesshouston.org/coalition-faq/how-does-this-faq-work/

I would like to start off by writing in detail the meaning of being homeless. I believe before we explore this matter we first must understand what homeless mean. We must also understand what has lead people to be homeless. I would talk about how Jackson was once in college, married and now homeless. What life events Jackson faced that made him become homeless.

The effects of being homeless

http://england.shelter.org.uk/campaigns_/why_we_campaign/tackling_homelessness/what_is_homelessness_like

Being homeless has several effects such as your health physically and mentally. It also effect your loved ones around you. When Jackson became homeless he isolated himself from his family and got new friends which became like his family. When Jackson was trying to raise money for the pawn shop his friends supported him through the process.

Topic     Quantitative Research Design

Type      Essay

Level     High School

Style      APA

Sources                3

Language             English(U.S.)

Description

Using the knowledge and insights gained from the textbook and other reliable sources answer the following.

1.In your own words, define quantitative research and provide two examples of quantitative designs with a brief explanation of each design.

2.Identify a potential quantitative research study that is important to nursing and describe which design you would use for this study, why you would use that design, and how the information generated from the study could be applied in nursing practice.

3.Reflect as to the value of quantitative research adding to the science, knowledge, and practice of nursing.

Class: The objective of this DB is to make sure you understand the basic types of quantitative research designs – choose 2 designs and explain them briefly for your peers.

Then I want you to be creative and develop your own idea for a quantitative research study (it is hypothetical). Why would you want to conduct this study, what design would you use and why, and what would you hope to answer in the realm of nursing?

Finally end with your new found understanding of this type of research design.

Example for step 2: Nursing simulation is an new and important aspect of training for undergraduate nursing students. Finding clinical space within the hospital settings is becoming more difficult to accomplish as schools compete for space and hospitals exert tighter controls. Can simulation really replace traditional clinical and have the same outcomes? In order to research this question I would create a randomized controlled trial. This design would allow me the opportunity to have one group of students complete clinical with 100% of their time in simulation. A second group would have 50% simulation and 50% traditional clinical. The control group would have 100% traditional clinical. Students would be randomly assigned to one of the 3 groups. All student would be from the same cohort. This design would allow me to compare the clinical outcomes to see if there are any differences between the groups. The results of the study would be used to either support the use or more simulation for clinical or show that clinical must occur in traditional settings.

Have fun creating your own quantitative study!! Don’t forget your 3 citations beyond the textbook!!
