NSG6101: week 10 project

Overview/Description:

The final project for NSG6101 consists of the development of a novel research proposal specific to your role specialization. The project must include an intervention appropriate to nursing practice and consistent with your MSN role option. An alternative to the above includes the selection of a specialty organization to focus research proposals based on the priorities of that organization. Examples of these organizations could include (but are not limited to): Sigma Theta Tau International, American Nurses’ Foundation, Oncology Nursing Society, Association of Nurses in AIDS Care, American Psychiatric Nursing Association, American Association of Critical Care Nurses, National Association of Pediatric Nurse Associates and Practitioners, National League For Nursing, etc.

Throughout this course you have been developing various sections of the research proposal. This week you will assemble the final proposal (addressing faculty feedback). This paper is to be developed in APA format/style using the required template and not to exceed 8-10 pages (excluding title page/references/appendices).

Compare the differences between adaptive challenges and technical fix interpretations

Select a large organization you are personally familiar with or that you are able to find reliable research on within any industry or sector you choose. You will use the same organization throughout the first seven assignments, so be sure to choose a company that you are interested in learning more about.

Then, write a paper analyzing the roles of the executive leaders within that organization and be sure to address the following:

·       Define the specific role each executive leader plays in the operations of the organization.

·       Determine what each executive leader is ultimately responsible for.

·       Identify the management functions (Planning, Leading, Organizing, Controlling) the executive leaders use most, and then identify which functions they use the least. Use these findings to explain how the role of each executive leader differs from those who are mid-level leaders in the organization.

Leadership and management, although related, are not the same. Leadership is but one component of management; management also entails planning, organizing, and controlling. The different levels of leadership within an organization require different levels of each of these functions. For example, executive leaders may be more involved in planning than controlling; executive leaders tend to use more leadership abilities than a middle manager, with middle managers usually performing more organizing and controlling functions.

Your company is creating a sales system to allow for a new online channel for sales. The IT governance of the organization requires an IT request, development of a project charter and scope for the request, and a review and acceptance of the request by the IT Governance Committee.

Based on the first letter of your last name, one of the following five roles is assigned to you:

A-E— Chief Executive Officer (CEO): The executive who is responsible for the entire company.
F-K— Chief Financial Officer (CFO): The executive who is responsible for financial planning and record keeping for the company.
L-N— Chief Information Officer (CIO): All IT is overseen by the CIO. The CIO is over the hardware, software, IT processes, management, support and security and privacy of all systems within the organization.
O-R— Marketing Manager: The marketing manager monitors trends that indicate a need for new products and services, directs marketing programs, and develops pricing strategies to maximize profit.
S-Z— IT Manager: The IT manager is the person who supervises all aspects of managing and processing information.

Proposal Assignment

 

Write a proposal that promotes ideas for improving the project management communication at your place of work. 

 

 

The audience for your proposal is your management. Your proposal can include charts, graphs, tables and photographs. The length should be 1,000 words +/- 10%. Longer is not necessarily better, but it should not be fewer than 900 words and no longer than 1100 words.
