Module 10 Written Assignment:  Personality Tests and Analysis (Worth 30 points)

Learning Objectives 3d and 4a

For this written assignment, you will explore your own personality by taking two *free* internet personality tests.

Overview of the Jung Typology Test

The first personality test is called the Jung Typology Test.  This test measures four trait domains:

  1. How we interact with our world (the continuum with introversion on one side and extroversion on the other).
  2. How we process information (the continuum with sensing on one end and intuitive on the other).  Sensors are data driven and those that “intuit” tend to see the “big picture.”
  3. How we make decisions (the continuum of thinking on one side and feeling on the other).
  4. How we plan our day (the continuum of judging on one side and perceiving on the other).  Judging in this context means planned and structured, and perceiving in this context means free-flowing and flexible.

Step 1:   Take the Jung Typology Test at the following link: http://www.humanmetrics.com/cgi-win/JTypes1.htm.

Write a thoughtful one or two paragraph essay that addresses the following:

  • Briefly summarize your personality test results.  Do not copy/paste the results from the personality test; instead, summarize your results in your own words.
  • Explain the ways in which you agree or disagree with the results.  Next, think of someone that knows you well.  Explain the ways in which he or she would agree or disagree with your results.

Overview of the Five-Factor Module of Personality, also called the “Big Five”

First, watch the following Ted Talk: https://www.ted.com/talks/brian_little_who_are_you_really_the_puzzle_of_personality.

In the corporate world, research is done to pinpoint certain trait profiles that will result in a successful employee. Companies often give inventories when hiring, like a personality analysis based on the Five-Factor Model of Personality, commonly known as “Big-Five, which measures five core trait domains.

  1. Openness to experience/intellect: Are you eager to try new experiences and ideas, or are you more comfortable having experiences stay the same most of the time?
  2. Conscientiousness: How organized of a person are you? Are you a reliable person, or are you generally careless with your actions?
  3. Extraversion: Are you a social person who feels “recharged” when interacting with other people, or are you a quiet, more reserved person who prefers solitude?
  4. Agreeableness: Would you say you are a compassionate, forgiving, and understanding person, or do you tend to be more critical and blunt to people?
  5. Neuroticism: Are you someone who is nervous, anxious, and worries about the future, or are you calm and hard to fluster?

Step 2:  Take the “Big Five” at the following link:  http://www.outofservice.com/bigfive/.

Write a thoughtful one or two paragraph essay that addresses the following:

  • Summarize your results from the “Big Five.”  Do not copy/paste the results from the personality test; instead, summarize your results in your own words.
  • From the perspective of an employer, explain what they may conclude, based on your results, regarding whether or not you would be a successful employee.
  • Based on your results, identify one area you might like to improve.  Explain what strategies you might use to implement the improvement?

Step 3Review the grading rubric (webpage, opens in new tab), which explains the expectations for your writing assignment.

Step 4:  Put your essay from the Jung Typology Test and your essay from the “Big Five” inventory into one Word document.  If you do not use Word, please save your document as a PDF or RTF file. Submit your document to the drop box.

A problem statement, which begins with the phrase “An unsolved problem in the field of IT strategic management that could be addressed by additional research is…” Follow up with 2-3 paragraphs that support the existence of the problem and its negative effects on its stakeholders.

Some things to keep in mind:

  • A problem is something that is going wrong and it causes negative effectson stakeholders such as researchers, professionals, or the public.
  • The mere existence of some negative-sounding condition (e.g., a “lack” of something) doesn’t constitute a problem.  There must be some negative effectsas a result of this condition.
  • A problem is not a goal (e.g., “An unsolved problem is … better using information resources.”).
  • A problem is not a question (e.g., “An unsolved problem is … how to determine what information resources are underutilized”).

Support your response and all factual assertions with appropriate scholarly or industry sources with proper citations in APA format.  Remember that opinions are fine but they must be rooted in facts.  Do not approach this as a journal entry filled with your stream-of-thoughts.  Do thorough reading on the topic before responding and use what you’ve read as evidence to support what you post.  Do not use Wikipedia or similar sites.  Do not use blog posts unless they are official publications of the relevant companies or their employees (e.g., Mark Zuckerberg’s blog would be an appropriate source for information about Facebook).

Minimum of 350 words

Based on your reading material and other credibler sources, please write 300-500 words discussing the following:

  • List and discuss some of the natural deterrence provided by topographies.
Why should topographies be considered when designing or upgrading a facility?
Provide the name of a known facility in the United States that used a natural barrier to provide protection and safety?
What is the significance of physical barriers as it relates to this course?
  • You need to have at least eight (8) different cited sources.
  • Each paragraph must have 4 or more complete sentences.

*Reasons why I have chosen to attend college
*Examples of how a college degree will improve my life
*Reasons why taking an online class is/is not a good idea
*Reasons why attending a community college is/is not a good idea
You may practice these topics at home; HOWEVER, NO OUTSIDE NOTES OR PAPER WILL BE ALLOWED DURING THE WRITING EXAM.

Respond to each of the topics (200 words).  Your response should follow the standard format of a 5 paragraph essay.  Use the following as a guideline for your response:

  • Past Health
  • Family History

While this is only a partial health history, summarize in 3 -5 pages the information you gathered. Also, answer the following questions:

  1. Was the person willing to share the information? If they were not, what did you do to encourage them?
  2. Was there any part of the interview that was more challenging? If so, what part and how did you deal with it?
  3. How comfortable were you taking a health history?
  4. What interviewing techniques did you use? Were there any that were difficult and if so, how did you overcome the difficulty?
  5. Now that you have taken a health history discuss how this information can assist the nurse in determining the health status of a client.

Your assignment must have accurate spelling and grammar.

Objectives

  • Evaluate various approaches to art
  • Summarize various approaches to art
  • Synthesize various approaches to art with different types of discussions about art

Instructions

1.  Choose one “approach” to art and describe it. What is important, or meaningful, about an artwork for someone using this approach? What would someone using this approach look for? What kind of research would they do?

2.  Evaluate your chosen approach. What does it do well? What is it good at discovering, or bringing to our attention? What does it miss? What does it ignore?

3.  Now look at Chapter 8—this chapter has sections about art and politics, aesthetic quarrels, and iconoclasm. In each of these sections there are examples of the kinds of issues, discussions, or arguments people have about these things. Choose one of these example “arguments” and describe how someone using your chosen approach might respond. What would they have to say about the issue? What might be important to them? What might they choose to ignore, excuse, or encourage?

Crypto Security Architecture Exercise  Scenario You work for the Apex Trucking Company. This is a firm that moves materials for clients all over North America and Europe. The leadership of the company has no real knowledge of technology, but wants to use encryption to protect the information the company has. The information to be protected consists of future marketing plans for the company, financial data, employee records, customer records, and customer shipping date.  The company wants the capability to securely allow customers to track their orders in real time from their origin to their destination on-line over the Internet. The information that is to be supplied to customers is tracking number, location of shipment, size of shipment, value of shipment, and estimated time of arrival as well as the customer contact information for this shipment.  While this information can be made available from a central server, the marketing groups in Europe, Mexico and Canada need management access to the data to enter new shipments and change orders before they ship.  The company currently is using desktops running Windows XP and Windows based servers. There are only passwords used for security, and a firewall, but no encryption to protect the information.  The project is to provide the above capability securely using encryption, as well as providing additional security to the company via encryption. You will need to address new technology, the reasons and costs behind your choices, and what policy and legal implications there are to your encryption solution  There is at least one marketing group in Mexico, Germany, and Canada, as well as three in the US. The company is based in New York. It is important that customers can rely on the shipping data being accurate, and from the company.   You’re assigned this crypto architecture project.  Configuration The current configuration has one server acting as a firewall and web server. This server is directly attached to the Internet.   There is a database server behind the firewall, as well as a separate server for HR and marketing. The marketing server needs to be securely accessed by the marketing teams. They also need to access the database server through an Internet connection to manage data and display reports. All databases use MySQL and are currently not secured.  Constraints Your tasking is crypto architecture. The normal replacement of computers is done on a rotating schedule. It is outside the scope of your project to plan for the replacement of computers. Your architecture should work with the computers you have. You may consider the replacement of equipment if an upgrade or new equipment would be critical to the crypto architecture.   Specific Tasking You have been specifically tasked to do the following things and develop a complete and sound crypto architecture. Remember, the president is very knowledgeable about cryptography and wants lots of details about how you are going to implement the encryption.

1. Describe in detail what new cryptographic systems you are going to propose, how they work, and how they will enhance security. Be specific about these systems weaknesses and how you plan to compensate for the weaknesses.

2. Describe and explain the impact the new cryptographic security architecture will have on the current security features and how this impact will be mitigated.

3. What new issues will arise as a result of implementing the new cryptographic solutions and what are the arguments on either side of these issues?

4. Show a clear and detailed understanding of the existing encryption being used such as passwords, and operating encryption features not being used and whether you plan to use these or not, and if not why not.

5. How well will all these new cryptographic features work together? Identify any areas of concern, and how you propose to resolve conflicts and issues.

6. What if any current security features can be eliminated cost effectively by the new crypto architecture?

1)In order to interpret the Information Governance Reference Model (IGRM) diagram. It is recommended that we start  from the outside of the diagram.

Briefly name three (3) components required to successfully conceive a complex set of inter-operable processes and implementable procedures and structural elements.

2)”The Path to Information Value” that Seventy percent of managers and executives say data are “extremely important” for creating competitive advantage. In addition, it is implied by the authors that, “The key, of course, is knowing which data matter, who within a company needs them, and finding ways to get that data into users’ hands.”
