Based on the two documents, what role did religion and morality play in the debate over slavery? Do these religious and moral arguments impact racial discussions today?

Having considered these questions, write an essay of at least 800 words that:

1. Makes a specific argument that can be supported with the specific historical evidence of these two primary documents, as well as lecture notes and the textbook assigned to your class;

2. Analyzes the historical significance of these two primary documents; and connect them with issues facing our country today;

3. Analyzes the role of religion and morality in the past, and the nature of the race in the past and today;

4. Is written in standard English, with all sources and quotes properly cited using MLA format;

5. Is written in your own words, not copied and pasted from other sources or web sites;

6. Is submitted through eCampus, by clicking the “REQUIRED HIST 1301 CORE OBJECTIVE ASSESSMENT ESSAY” link above.

Chapter 5 discusses decision making using system modeling. The author briefly mentions an open source software tool, EMA Workbench, that can perform EMA and ESDMA modeling. Find EMA Workbench online and go to their main website (not the GitHub download site). Then do the following:

1) Under documentation, go to the Tutorials page.

2) Read through the Simple Model (in your chosen environment), and the Mexican Flu example.

3) Decide how you could use this software to create a model to help in developing a policy for a Smart City.

To complete this assignment, you must do the following:

A)  As indicated above, explain how you could use the EMA Workbench software to develop a model to help create a policy for a Smart City. Explain what policy you are trying to create (i.e. traffic light placement, surveillance camera coverage, taxi licenses issued, etc.), and what key features you would use in your model. Then, explain how EMA Workbench would help you. NOTE: keep your models and features simple. You don’t really need more than 2 or 3 features to make your point here.

 Imagine you are the manager of operations for a manufacturing company. Your vice president wants to expand production by building a new facility, and she would like you to develop a business case for the project. Assume that your company’s weighted average cost of capital is 13%, the after-tax cost of debt is 7%, preferred stock is 10.5%, and common equity is 15%. As you work on the business case, you surmise that this is a fairly risky project because of a recent slowing in product sales. In fact, when using the 13% weighted average cost of capital, you discover that the project is estimated to return about 10%, which is quite a bit less than the company’s weighted average cost of capital. Your vice president suggests that the project could be financed from a mix of retained earnings (50%) and bonds (50%). She reasons that retained earnings do not cost the company anything because it is cash you already have, and the after-tax cost of debt is only 7%. That would lower your weighted average cost of capital to 3.5% and make your 10% projected return look great.

Is your vice president’s suggestion to use a mix of 50% retained earnings and 50% bonds a good approach for this expansion? Explain why or why not. (1 paragraph)

In discussing Organizational Excellence, let’s start with an analysis of your organization or one with which you are familiar. Take the Organizational Diagnosis Questionnaire that is found aboveProvide a detailed analysis of what is working and what is not working.

Your response should be 250-300 words

It’s critical to understand all the factors that make a customer a good candidate to buy your product. First take a look at this product, the new iphone X, cost: $1,000.

  • Now, try to figure out who the IDEAL customer is for this product. Assess as many different factors as you can think of. Who are they? You can evaluate all of the following: race, gender, education level, income level, where do they live (urban vs rural), what motivates them? How many kids do you think they have? Figure out the perfect customer and tell me why these factors might influence them to buy the iphone Xs.
  • Next, come up with a brief marketing pitch 2-3 sentences trying to persuade the target customer this phone is the perfect for him/her. Then discuss why you think this marketing message is the correct message for your specified target market in the above bullet.

Components of happiness and well-being are dependent on each individual culture. For instance, in one culture, feeling connected to nature may bring happiness while in another culture experiencing happiness may be linked to receiving an award or praise from others.

For this Discussion, you will read several resources describing how happiness may vary by cultural context and even how words and terms for happiness may not be universal and thus may not appear in every culture. As you consider these Learning Resources, think about the influence or term for happiness and whether it appears in every culture.

To Prepare:

  • Review this week’s Learning Resources and select an influence for happiness or a term for happiness that does not appear in every culture.

By Day 4

Post and explain the influence or term for happiness you selected and explain why you think it does not appear every culture.

Note: Be sure to support your postings and responses with specific references to the Learning Resources and identify current relevant literature to support your work.

This exercise requires the use of a descriptive statistics calculator.  You can find this tool in some versions of Excel (as part of the Analysis ToolPak) or you can use one of the many free online descriptive calculators such as the Descriptive Statistics Calculator (Links to an external site.) by Calculator Soup.

To begin, come up with 20 different data points (that will form a set of data) and enter them into the first column of an Excel spreadsheet.  The data points can be any numbers you want as long as there are 20 of them.

You will then use the descriptive statistics option in your descriptive statistics program or calculator.  This is explained in Chapter 1 of your course text.  You should get an output similar to the image in Figure 1.1.

This output must contain the following values: mean, standard error, median, mode, standard deviation, sample variance, kurtosis, skewness, range, minimum, maximum, sum, and count.  Address the following points in your initial post:

  • Begin your discussion by reporting your results for each of the values listed above.
  • Based on this output, which single value best describes this set of data and why?
  • If you could pick three of these values instead of only one, which three would you choose and why?

It is important to note that the answers to these questions may be different for each of you since you are each using unique sets of data.

To prepare for this Discussion:

  • Review the Learning Resources and the media programs related to correlation and regression.
  • Search for and select a quantitative article specific to your discipline and related to correlation or regression. Help with this task may be found in the Course guide and assignment help linked in this week’s Learning Resources. Also, you can use as guide the Research Design Alignment Table located in this week’s Learning Resources.

By Day 3

Write a 3- to 5-paragraph critique of the article. In your critique, include responses to the following:

  1. What is the research design used by the authors?
  2. Why did the authors use correlation or bivariate regression?
  3. Do you think it’s the most appropriate choice? Why or why not?
  4. Did the authors display the data?
  5. Do the results stand alone? Why or why not?
  6. Did the authors report effect size? If yes, is this meaningful?

You were recently promoted and now serve as Mayor Samantha Smith’s professional speechwriter. Mayor Smith has been asked to address the Twin Fawn Community Association about the issue of building a swimming pool in the neighborhood. As you analyze the audience (community members), which one of the factors (characteristics) listed below will you consider as you prepare Mayor Smith’s speech? Provide a thorough explanation for your choice.

  1. Age of the audience
  2. Attitude about subject
  3. Socio-economic status of the audience
