Chapter 3 of the DPI Project, entitled “Methodology,” will expand upon the content and concepts presented in the “Strategic Points Final Draft” (Appendix A) document you completed in its final iteration in Topic 2.  

 

General Requirements:  Use the following information to ensure successful completion of the assignment: 

 

•Locate the “DPI Proposal Template” in the PI Workspace of the DC Network. •Locate the Strategic Points Final Draft assignment completed earlier in this course. •Doctoral learners are required to use APA style for their writing assignments. The APA Style Guide is located in the Student Success Center. •This assignment uses a rubric. Please review the rubric prior to beginning the assignment to become familiar with the expectations for successful completion. •You are required to submit this assignment to LopesWrite. Background: According to Kirk (2016), typography will have a significant role in your visualizations. You have to be careful with your text, but you must also be concerned with how the text looks. This then leads to color and functional harmony. You must provide the balance of colors in your visualizations (Kirk, 2016).  The harmony of colors you select during design will impact many aspects of the overall visualization.

 

Assignment: Write a research paper that contains the following:

 

Discuss Typography and the importance of appearance of text 

Discuss the following color harmonies: (Usage, Pros, and Cons)

 

Complementary colors

 

Analogous colors

 

Triadic colors

Your research paper should be at least 3 pages (800 words), double-spaced, have at least 4 APA references, and typed in an easy-to-read font in MS Word (other word processors are fine to use but save it in MS Word format). Y

 There are a number of different methods, such as discounted cash flow, net present value (NPV), accounting rate of return (ARR), payback, and internal rate of return (IRR),that can be used to evaluate whether an organization should approve a particular project. Each method has specific advantages and disadvantages and certain scenarios could benefit from the use of a particular method. 

To Prepare for this Discussion, take a moment to review the articles “The Five Traps of Performance Measurement” (Likierman, 2009), and “Three Rules for Making a Company Truly Great” (Raynor & Ahmed, 2013).

Your research paper should be minimally 10 pages (double spaced, Font – Georgia with font size 12). The research paper needs to refer to the following source

 

1. Kostyuk, N., and Zhukov., M., Y. (2019). Invisible Digital Front: Can Cyber Attacks Shape Battlefield Events? Journal of Conflict Resolution, 63(2)., 317-347. (pfd version of paper is uploaded to module 4 in d2l). 
2. In addition you need to have at least 5 peer reviewed journal/book references 

 

The research needs to minimally discuss the following 

 

1. The relevance of cyber warfare for the United States
2. What are some examples of possible cyber warfare scenarios where critical infrastructure could be affected
3. Emerging technologies that can be used for cyber warfare 
4. What does Kostyuk and Zhukov (2019) address mainly in their paper? Do you agree with Kostyuk and Zhukov (2019) that cyber-attacks are ineffective as a tool of coercion in war. Ensure to explain why or why not. 
5. Future implications of cyber warfare for the United States 

 

The bibliography should be included as a separate page and is not part of the 10 page requirement.

 

 

 

The research paper should include the following components. 

 

1. Title Page (Not part of the minimum 10 page requirement)
2. Abstract (quick overview in your own words of the entire content of your paper, limited to 200-350 words)
3. Introduction (1-2 pages, relevance of cyber warfare for the U.S, example, possible scenarios_
4. Literature Review (2-4 pages, describes the research papers that you find in reference to the topic of cyber warfare, emerging technologies that can be used, the impact of cyber warfare)
5. Discussion (2-3 pages) – (Your perspective on the topic of cyber warfare, implications for the U.S, critical perspectives and/or recommendations)
6. Conclusion (1-2 paragraphs, This provides a final summary of your research paper)
7. Bibliography in APA format

 Reflect on the connection between knowledge or concepts from these courses and how those have been, or could be, applied in the work place (250 words per course reflection. If you were a full time student and took 2 courses, you should write a total of 500 words).

Option A: Performance Review 

 

Attend a live performance of your choice during our summer session and write a review, where you apply concepts from the course to your selection. 

 

Your paper should offer a thesis/argument, more than a simple evaluation of whether you “liked” the show or not. Consider instead some of the following questions: 

• What does the show attempt?

• How well does the attempt succeed?
• Was the attempt worth making?

We’ve listed some possible performances below, but you are not limited to these choices. If you have questions about a specific event, or want to recommend a show  to your classmates, please contact the instructor. 

• Include details of the event, e.g., the production name, location, date, etc.  
• Describe and apply at least 3 course concepts, for example: script/text, direction, acting, design (sound, scenic, costume, and/or lighting, etc.), among any other elements.

• If necessary, include only a brief summary of the plot. Focus instead on the “live” performance aspects.
• Include a photo or scan of the ticket, program, or even a selfie of you inside the theater–something to prove you attended the show.
