Diagram a distributed database environment in Microsoft® Visio® using the Appendix A document (Attached)

Include the following in your diagram:

  • A production database
  • A data warehouse
  • Two data marts
  • Security and maintenance elements annotated in your first diagram

Create a 3-page summary in Microsoft® Word that:

  • Identifies and discusses the database tables used to create your distributed database environment
  • Identifies and discusses three SQL queries to develop reports from the data query list in the case study
  • Explains the typical operation of a data warehouse and data marts, along with operational considerations and constraints
  • Discusses how DreamHome could benefit from data mining and how OLAP and data mining applications could be applied to the DreamHome data model.
  • Includes the SQL statements for each of the required queries and screenshots showing the query results
  • A thorough explanation of the process you used to determine the data types used in each table
  • An explanation of the most difficult process in designing and building the data and how organizations can overcome these difficulties

Create a procedure to follow for reviewing article abstracts. This can be similar to a standard operating procedure or in a format you prefer. A flow chart or similar model can also be used. Assume you will use this method when you begin your own chapter 2.

Begin your procedure with the following:

  1. Include at least three steps for determining if the abstract has the main points related to your topic.
  2. Outline how or what you will look for in the abstract. This information will be what prompts you to open the full-text article.

In the next step of the procedure:

  1. Develop a plan or visual tool to take notes about each search engine, main theme, URL, and a section of the chapter this would be used.

For example, chapter 2 begins with an introduction for the reader about your topic, next to a paragraph of how and where you found the literature, then the theoretical or conceptual framework, and then finally the main content of the chapter. The main content is categorized by you and how your literature develops.

Length:  1-2 pages, plus title and reference pages

References:  Include a minimum of five (5) scholarly resources.

Your presentation should demonstrate thoughtful consideration of the ideas and concepts presented in the course and provide new thoughts and insights relating directly to this topic. Your response should reflect scholarly writing and current APA standards.

Instructions:

  • identify power relations for their aspects of positive-sum, zero-sum, or negative sum outcomes;
  • deconstruct in a systematic analysis the evolution of an actual power relationship; and
  • speculate about power outcomes based on different uses of power instruments.

1-Choose a documented case of a power struggle from any part of society – economic, political, social, or high-profile personal – where there has a been a conflict between two sides, and a known outcome and that you find interesting.

2-Use the taxonomies studied so far in this course: Reciprocity as a Basis for Power  ,  Ownership, Control, and Cumulative Causation in Power Relations,  Rhetoric as a Basis for Power ,  Human Versus Non-human Capital and Societal Power. Describe and analyse the types of power exercised.

3-Offer evidence or speculate how the power instruments used were created and communicated.

4-Suggest ways in which the outcome could have changed if power instruments were used differently.

5-Your analysis should be 1500 words (+/- 50 words), single  space, excluding the title page and reference page, and should be consistent with APA referencing styles. No plagiarism.

Many different leadership theories exist today, and although they are all unique in some ways, many of them have similar characteristics associated with them. For this assignment, create a PowerPoint presentation where you will choose three leadership theories to evaluate, compare, and apply to business. Remember, as a scholar-practitioner, you are required to examine theories and research, and then relate them back to practice within the business setting.
For each leadership theory that you select, be sure to address the following:
Provide an overview, including the main characteristics of the theory.

Discuss the origins of the theory, including the seminal theorist, his or her research used to create the theory, and the year the theory was developed.

Discuss how the theory has evolved over time. Who has built on that theory, and what were their additions or modifications to the theory? You can also create a timeline within your presentation to add a visual display to the evolution of the theory.

Compare your three theories to one another. Analyze the similarities and differences among the three chosen theories. You can choose to create a graphic to show the comparison between the theories as opposed to just bullet points and paragraph information.Choose one theory to evaluate in regard to practical use in business. Provide real-world examples of how this leadership theory could be effectively used by leaders in an organization. Incorporate appropriate animations, transitions, and graphics as well as speaker notes for each slide. The speaker notes may be comprised of brief paragraphs or bulleted lists.
Support your presentation with at least five scholarly resources. In addition to these specified resources, other appropriate scholarly resources may be included.
Length: 12-15 slides (with a separate reference slide)
Notes Length: 100-150 words for each slide

  • During  the course of this class you have learned that Latin America is a very  diverse region in terms of race, ethnicity, culture, and geography.  Explain the reasons of Latin America diversity. (10 points)
  • Women  in Argentina created monumental movements asking for the whereabouts of  their loved ones disappeared for political reasons starting in the  1970s. Explain the political reasons of these disappearances; the names  given to these organizations; how these women banded together; their  actions; why these movements are labeled as “gendering of human rights;”  how they dressed; detail their accomplishments. (10 points).
  • women  in Chile organized to find the whereabout of their loved ones. When did  this happened? Why did people disappeared in Chile? Who are the  Arpilleras?
  • El  Salvador and Guatemala also experienced political violence. You are  asked to provide an explanation of how women reacted to that political  violence.

This assignment provides you with an opportunity to discuss an insight you gained in this unit by comparing the development of one specific Islamic and one specific Christian region in 600–1000 C.E. Using examples of significant leaders, political and social structures, beliefs, and cultural products (stories, philosophies, theologies, artifacts, art, and architecture), note similarities and differences in the two cultures, and also indicate influences they share. What insight about the historical development of these two cultures did you gain from the comparison?

Step 1: Review the section of the Unit V Study Guide entitled, “Be Careful When Making Historical Assumptions.”

Step 2: Choose two appropriate sources, not including the textbook. At least one source must come from the CSU Online Library. The Academic Search Complete and eBook Academic Collection databases in the CSU Online Library would be good places to start your search. Resources from outside of the library should be credible and peer-reviewed by historians and cannot include Wikipedia, Biography.com, History.com, or any other .com site; resources should also not be taken from any type of message board or other encyclopedia-type sites, including those listed in the CSU Online Library research guides, which are provided for quick reference only and not for paper research.   If you need additional help with using or locating information in the CSU Online Library, there are library video tutorials available on the main page of the online library under the heading “Research Guides.”

Step 3: Complete your research. Choose one interesting comparison that illustrates the main point that you want to make about these cultures during this period. Gather details about your choice.   Compare similar features (known as “comparing like terms”). For example, compare cities to cities, education systems to education systems, technologies to technologies, stories to stories, ideas about the nature of God to ideas about the nature of God, and other features. Make sure you complete the comparison for all features, or note why you think there is not a like term for some features.   Comparison includes consideration of both similarities and differences.   Here are some examples to consider:  ◾ the promotion and use of learning by leading figures;  ◾the relationship between religious and political authority;  ◾the shaping of artifacts (leader, idea, practice, or structure) by time period and environment;  ◾the shaping of societies by artifacts and whether different people were affected differently; and  ◾the way that different elements of culture reflect power arrangements, goals, hierarchies, and/or challenges.

Step 4: Prepare your introduction, including your thesis statement. A thesis is prepared after you have completed your research and includes the comparison of what you found. It should be a one- or two-sentence statement of the conclusions you drew from the comparison.   S

Step 5: Write your essay. Your essay must be at least 500 words in length.

Step 6: Reflect on how this comparison paper shaped your understanding of how to practice cultural history ethically, as discussed in the “Be Careful When Making Historical Assumptions” section of the Unit V Lesson. Write one paragraph to be placed after the concluding paragraph of your essay, reflecting on how the guidelines in the unit lesson shaped your understanding of how to use historical evidence, including artifacts, to practice cultural history ethically.

Before writing this reflection assignment, watch the TED video on your Marshmallow challenge and visit this website to read about and see the experiences of other teams.

The video is a TED talk and is linked in our module as “What about the Marshmallow challenge.” As part of this reflection I want you to consider both the readings in our textbook about communication behavior in groups and teams (communication roles that we assume — activator, or gatekeeper, or joker for example) and your experience with your team as you created the power point. If you wish to add a discussion on your home team process that would be fine.

Discuss the team dynamics from team formation through the completion of your project choosing what you wish to identify.

What role behaviors did your team mates take on? What did you do in response? What did you see when you worked on the short term problem solving experience in building the marshmallow tower? In each of these two experiences you problem solved and communicated as a team. What aspects of the concepts from our textbook did you see or experience in these two weeks with Team work? In our Marshmallow Challenge, teams were more successful with a strong facilitator did this happen in your team project or your work in the home team? Who took this role? Work to use the information from your experience in both the marshmallow challenge at home and your two week team interaction to create this reflection. Be sure to point out to me what you learned in the end that will support your personal communication development in future team experiences.

This reflection should be Minimum of 1.5-2 pages double spaced with 12 point font.
