According to the National Institute of Mental Health, about 18% of American adults experience anxiety disorders in a typical year. About 9.5% have the symptoms of mood disorders (Note that an individual can be simultaneously diagnosed with both types). There are many possible explanations for the high prevalence of both disorders, but whatever the cause, these two categories affect a very large part of the population and thus are of great concern.

Complete the following:

Briefly share the plot of a book, movie, or television show in which the main character(s) presented one of the psychological disorders discussed in this module. Describe the behaviors displayed by the character(s) that are symptomatic of the disorder. Did the character(s) seek professional help from a psychiatrist, psychologist, or counselor? What coping strategies were used? What caused the character(s) to develop the disorder and in your opinion, which therapeutic approach do you feel would be the most beneficial treatment for your character(s)? Why?

Assignment 1: Budget Planning and Control

Due Week 9 and worth 240 points

Before approaching this assignment, be sure that you have watched the following video:

Babycakes, a specialty bakery, is the company that will be considered for all parts of your budget planning and control report. For this assignment, you will develop a 3–4-page paper in which you address the following.

  1. Briefly discuss the ways a realistic budget will benefit the owner of Babycakes versus no budget at all. Be sure to use Babycakes as the company and any specific product details in your explanation.
  2. Prepare a sales budget for the LA Babycakes store for the fourth quarter of 2016. Present the number of units, sales price, and total sales for each month; include October, November, and December, and the total for the quarter. Use one half of the Valentine’s Day sales as the basis for a usual day in the new quarter. Use 30 days for each month. Calculate the total sales for each month for October, November, and December.
  3. Create three new products, one for each of the three holiday seasons in the fourth quarter. Estimate the sales units, sales price, and total sales for each month. Describe the assumptions used to make these estimates. Include an overview of the budget in the report, presenting the actual budget as an appendix with all the data and calculations. Add these amounts to your sales budget.
  4. The owner of Babycakes is interested in preparing a flexible budget rather than the static budget she currently uses. She does not understand why, when sales increase, her static budget often shows an unfavorable variance. Explain how a flexible budget will overcome this problem. Use the details of your newly prepared budget for the fourth quarter of 2016 to address her concern.
  5. Imagine that Babycakes is facing a financial challenge that is causing the actual amount of money that it spends to become significantly more than its budgeted amount. Include a discussion of your own unique cause of the overspending. Explain the corrective actions needed to address these challenges.
  6. Integrate relevant information from at least three quality academic resources in this assignment. Note: Please do not use your textbook as an academic resource. Some organizations prohibit workers from bringing certain kinds of devices into the workplace, such as cameras, cell phones, and USB drives. Some businesses require employees to use clear or see-through backpacks when carrying personal items. What other devices might not be allowed in certain facilities, and why would they be restricted? The video on Google’s Data Center may give you some ideas to write about for this assignment.

Your written assignment should consist of 2-3 paragraphs.

We have all heard the claim that “the customer is always right.” Well, maybe we should pause for a minute. Is the customer always right? Decide whether or not the customer is always right, and explain your rationale. Also, share an example of great customer service that you received directly or at least witnessed.

REPLY TO MY CLASSMATE RESPONSE TO THE ABOVE QUESTIONS AND EXPLAIN WHY YOU AGREE? (A MINIMUM OF 125 WORDS EACH)

                                                   CLASSMATE’S POST

No, the customer is not always right, but we always want to make the customer happy. Often, in business there are misunderstandings, the customer often doesn’t understand the rules, regulations, and policies that go with running the business the way it is running. The customer doesn’t understand that we can’t just give them what they want all the time because that can result in bad business. That is why we often compromise so the business isn’t taking that much of a loss.

A great example of Great Customer service is when my neighbor’s flooring got left outside in the rain for two days. He called the company back up and told them the problem, they got people to come to pick up the old flooring, the ordered new flooring, and they took off some of the install fees for his inconvenience because the company didn’t deliver the flooring correctly.
