Congratulations! The members of the United Nations found great value in the two analyses you provided. They are now asking you to develop a PowerPoint presentation that addresses the four most critical threats to the global environment. They are listed in the table below.

Energy sources

Civil war

Globalization

Poor health of entire populations

Lack of educational opportunities

Cultural taboos

Inappropriate uses of technology

Climate change

To complete this task, you must do the following:

Step I. Narrow the List from Eight to the Four Most Critical Threats

To complete this step, complete the following tasks in order:

  • Review research on each of the eight threats listed in the table.
  • Determine what you believe to be the current and potential future impacts of each threat on the global environment.
  • Choose the four threats that you see as the most critical by considering which pose the greatest or most immediate risk to us.

Step II. Create the PowerPoint Presentation

The completed version of this presentation will include a minimum of 19 slides. Your audience consists of the United Nations General Assembly.

PPT Content and Structure

1.  A Title Slide: Include your name, course title, current date, and the name of your instructor.

2.  An Introduction Slide: List the four threats you chose, and in the Notes section offer a brief narrative justifying these choices

3.  Body Slides: The slide content is listed in the outline below. For each body slide you develop, please include a paragraph in the Notes section explaining how the details you have provided in the slide are pertinent to the United Nations’ discussion on selecting and prioritizing goals.

I.  For your first threat (this is the threat you consider to be the greatest risk/highest priority)

a.  One slide on a brief history and assessment of the threat

b.  One slide on the countries most affected by the threat, and how those countries are affected (please give examples)

c.  One slide on the effects of this threat on the world population as a whole

d.  One slide including a chart, graph, or compelling visual that relates to the content you present in body slides a–c

II.  For your second threat (this is the threat you consider to be the second greatest risk/second highest priority)

  1. One slide on a brief history and assessment of the threat
  2. One slide on the countries most affected by the threat, and how those countries are affected (please give examples)
  3. One slide on the effects of this threat on the world population as a whole
  4. One slide including a chart, graph, or compelling visual that relates to the content you present in body slides a–c

III.  For your third threat (this is the threat you consider to be the third greatest threat/highest priority)

IV.  For your fourth threat (this is the threat you consider to be the fourth greatest threat/highest priority)

4.  A Conclusion Slide: Summarize your findings for the Assembly.

5.  Optional – Reference Slide: You can include full-text citations in the Notes section of each slide or provide a reference slide at the end of the presentation with the full citations of your sources.

Note: Please discuss the threats in order of priority as described above, so the threat you consider the greatest should be discussed first in the presentation and so on.

Note: Please use at least five credible sources to back up your discussion

Note: The body slides should summarize your key takeaways, whereas the Notes section of each body slide should discuss the evidence and the details that support your takeaways. The content in both the Notes and body sections requires citations and sources.

Case Report: Hepatitis B

Description

Hi! This a case report I have written on a patient with chronic Hepatitis B. English is not my first language, so the style/writing throughout the report needs to be thoroughly revised. (It currently does not read smoothly or flow well at all.) Ultimately, I would like the paper completely revised to produce a much more eloquent and cohesive picture of this case. Please focus on grammar, word choice, sentence structure/order, flow and style. The format of the case report is already done as required, so please do not change/reorder the headings. However, please feel free to add additional information or discussion to any section of the paper; it would be much appreciated! Additionally, if you think any part of the paper would benefit from a chart, graph or other illustration, please add this into the case report. (I think this may help with the cohesiveness and help present information more easily?) Thank you in advance, and please let me know if you have any questions!

1. Write as paragraphs the basic science concepts, their definitions, and an everyday application.

Example of basic science concepts are:

Length or distance, force, power, mass, volume, time, and temperature (just mentioning some of them). In addition to resources from the internet, you could address your personal experience related to measures and units.

2. Search for the scientists who contributed throughout history to the formulation of the scientific method and organized them by chronological order: (Between three to five)

3. Write the steps of the Scientific Method. Summarize each step.

4. Research and write facts where you compare and contrast the two-measurement system: “The International System of Units (SI).” Vs. “The English System.”  Please support your input with some everyday examples of measure (unit) used here in the United States Vs. example of units that we use in other countries. Please write this assignment in only one documents, per paragraph and the APA style whit references.

Chapter 1 – Quiz 1

Instructions:  There are three (3) topic areas listed below that are designed to measure your knowledge level specific to learning outcome (LO 1) shown in your course syllabus. You must select any two of these topic areas and provide appropriate responses in essay form. In most cases the topic area has several components. Each must be addressed to properly satisfyrequirements.

State-wide and in most professional industries, there has been a mandate that college students be more proficient in their writing. While this is not a writing class, all writing assignments will be graded for grammar, syntax and typographical correctness to help address this mandate.

Pay attention to what you are being asked to do (see Grading Rubric below). For example, to describe does not mean to list, but to tell about or illustrate in more than two or three sentences, providing appropriate arguments for your responses using theories discussed in our textBe sure to address all parts of the topic question as most have multiple parts. A verifiable current event (less than 4 years old) relevant to at least one of the topics you respond to is a fundamental component of your quiz as well.  You cannot use information from the text book or any book/article by the author of the text book as a current event.  Make sure that your reference has a date of publication.  For each chapter quiz and final quiz you are required to find and include at least one reference and reference citation to a current event less than 4 years old (a reference with no date (n.d.) is not acceptable) in answer to at least one question.  This requires a reference citation in the text of your answer and a reference at the end of the question to which the reference applies.  You must include some information obtained from the reference in your answer.  The references must be found on the internet and you must include a URL in your reference so that the reference can be verified.

You should type your responses directly under the appropriate question. Be sure to include your name on your quiz. Only the first two (2) questions with answers will be graded.  Include your name in the document filename. Your completed quiz must be uploaded into the appropriate eCollege Dropbox, no later than 11:59pm on the due date.

  1. Define and describe in your words the key technological developments of each of the four phases in the evolution of cybertechnology. Please elaborate (beyond a yes or no answer) and provide your “theoretical” rationale in support of your responses(knowledge)
  2. Access Don Gotterbarn’s arguments for the claim that computer ethics is, at bottom, a field whose primary concern should focus on moral responsibility issues for computer professionals.  Do you agree with his position?  Please elaborate (beyond a yes or no answer) and provide your “theoretical” rationale in support of your responses(knowledge)
  3. Identify a current ethical issue involving the use of a recent or emerging technology.  Apply the three-step process in the “comprehensive framework” (or strategy for Approaching Moral Issues in Cybertechnology) that was described in Section 1.6.  Please elaborate (beyond a yes or no answer) and provide your “theoretical” rationale in support of your responses (knowledge)

reply to the response in 150 words and provide 1 reference

question: Most of us have heard or read about differences in other countries and cultures. Many of our classmates may be from other countries and cultures. Discuss some of these differences and how they affect business.

students reply

Having been born and raised in the Philippines prior to moving to the US, I have witnessed first-hand the differences in culture and how it can affect business. Culture is defined as “characteristics and knowledge of a particular group of people, encompassing language, religion, cuisine, social habits, music and arts”. (Culture, n.d.). These differences make a country unique, affect customer-buying decisions and reflect in their day to day living. (Rothaermel, 2017, p. 340). Language is often one of the major differences between cultures; however, it is less of a barrier in the Philippines than might be expected. In the PI, Filipino is the official language and there are thousands of dialects spoken, Tagalog being the most popular. I remember that from Kindergarten to college, English was taught. As it is an integral part of school curriculums, most people are able to communicate in English, making it unnecessary for visitors to learn the Filipino language and allowing for normal business relationships with most westernized cultures that also speak English.

In my opinion, a larger difference between the two cultures lies in the Power-Distance relationship.  The Philippines, a hierarchal society, ranks high in this category, scoring 94 as opposed to the United States which scores a 40. Traditionally, Americans are much more offended by the notion of inequality and display an urge to fight for balance of power. A comparison of these scores shows that Americans in the Philippines may have difficulty adjusting to what they perceive as unfair, specifically regarding relationship between management and labor in the work place (Country comparison, 2019).

Another major area of difference is Individualism. Individualism is a measure of the independence each member of a society has from its society; the right to determine one’s own destiny. The Philippines, as most Asian cultures, is a collectivist society. Both, from a familial and societal standpoint, Filipino people are likely to sacrifice personal desires to conform to the norms of the group for a greater good. With regards to the work place, this difference may manifest in the way an American may move from job to job in search of promotion whereas a Filipino is likely to remain loyal to a particular company (Country comparison, 2019).

By Tuesday, you should respond to two additional posts from your peers. If you have not done so lately, please review the Rules of Discussion

In our reading this week, we have seen how social problems, public opinion, and public expectations and changed more quickly than our bureaucratic institutions.  What are the factors that impact this lag, and what do you suggest as remedies?

Read the case study titled “Pre-Launch decisions which influence innovation success” found in Chapter 7 of your textbook.

You will then write a four to five (4-5) page paper in which the following items are addressed.

  1. Discuss the necessity of short-term and long-term forecasting for developing the key elements of the business plan.

Assigning team members to task roles is a delicate and critical task. When done correctly, the team members will be excited about their role on the project, feel confident they can successfully complete the tasks assigned, and know they will have some conquerable challenges as they move through the project.

To effectively assign tasks to people (and people to tasks), the project manager must perform the following:

  • Identify the roles needing to be filled.
  • Determine the skills required for each role.
  • Determine the skill sets of the team members.
  • Assign team members to roles.

The objective for this assignment is to effectively select your team from the following people:

  • Pat is available for 24 hours a week at $115 per hour. Pat was involved in several upgrade projects for this package and can act as business analyst, developer, or tester. Pat is very comfortable with the legacy system and does not see the benefit of moving to the Web-based version. He feels that the end users do not fully utilize the functionality they already have and will not use this new functionality effectively.
  • Terry is available for 24 hours a week at $100 per hour. Terry was involved in the original installation and every upgrade since then. She tends to be in developer or tester roles for this system but acts as business analyst for other systems. She is very excited about the Web-based package and the functionality it provides. She is concerned, however, that the end users do not have the computer savvy to use it.
  • Robin is available for 30 hours per week at $100 per hour. She was involved in the last two upgrades as a business analyst and has been trying to become involved in other systems and business areas. She was actively involved in the development of a custom Web-based application as a programmer. This was considered a skills development opportunity because her Web programming skills are not strong.
  • Chris is available for 24 hours per week at $80 per hour. He is new to the IT department; he was previously a customer service representative. He just completed his undergraduate degree in computer science and has experience with Web programming and software testing techniques.
  • Jan is available for 16 hours per week at $115 per hour. Jan is also new to the IT department. She was previously a consultant and was on process reengineering projects, including several for billing functions. She previously worked with the Web version product of the vendor’s competitor.

Assignment Guidelines: 1,250 Words in APA format and NO Plagarism

  • In this assignment, you are planning to fill the roles for the following 3 positions:
    • End user
    • Business analyst
    • Team leader
  • For each role,
    • Describe the main responsibilities of the role.
    • Identify the skills that are necessary.
    • Select one of the candidates listed in the assignment description, and thoroughly explain why you have chosen each person for his or her role.
        • Explain any conflicts or problems that you encountered while making your selections.

Use correctly APA style formatted references of solid academic quality for your resources and use correctly formatted APA style in-text citations to your references to substantiate your information and positions as well as to give credit to other author’s work.
