To Prepare:

  • Reflect on the four peer-reviewed articles you critically appraised in Module 4.
  • Reflect on your current healthcare organization and think about potential opportunities for evidence-based change.

The Assignment: (Evidence-Based Project)

Part 5: Recommending an Evidence-Based Practice Change

Create an 8- to 9-slide PowerPoint presentation in which you do the following:

  • Briefly describe your healthcare organization, including its culture and readiness for change. (You may opt to keep various elements of this anonymous, such as your company name.)
  • Describe the current problem or opportunity for change. Include in this description the circumstances surrounding the need for change, the scope of the issue, the stakeholders involved, and the risks associated with change implementation in general.
  • Propose an evidence-based idea for a change in practice using an EBP approach to decision making. Note that you may find further research needs to be conducted if sufficient evidence is not discovered.
  • Describe your plan for knowledge transfer of this change, including knowledge creation, dissemination, and organizational adoption and implementation.
  • Describe the measurable outcomes you hope to achieve with the implementation of this evidence-based change.
  • Be sure to provide APA citations of the supporting evidence-based peer reviewed articles you selected to support your thinking.
  • Add a lessons learned section that includes the following:
    • A summary of the critical appraisal of the peer-reviewed articles you previously submitted
    • An explanation about what you learned from completing the evaluation table (1 slide)
    • An explanation about what you learned from completing the levels of evidence table (1 slide)
    • An explanation about what you learned from completing the outcomes synthesis table (1 slide)

Answer the following questions based on attached files

1. List the four professional requirements of a contract. Identify if the City of Rancho Palos Verdes Services Agreement and Exhibit “B” (All Documents) provide the necessary information from the Engineer’s perspective to form a contract? Are the four professional requirements clearly stated and acceptable? Specify the section where for each professional requirement is located.

2. For each of the following documents (RFPs, contracts, agreements, etc.) briefly describe what the contractor/design firm is to provide to the client (scope of services), when they are to provide it (project schedule), and how much the client is to pay the contractor/design firm (Fee/Cost), and if the client has stated a budget for the project.  If one of these items is missing simply say so. Reference the section of the document(s) that you found the information for your answer.

The Airline Research Paper is an individual student effort but with roots in the group collaboration. Students will choose an airline (passenger or cargo) associated with their group’s region and individually write a critical analysis of the airline’s operation. The paper will cover the listed topics (as a minimum) in a paper of 8 to 12 pages (not including title and reference pages) in current APA format. Note: A paper of this length does not require an abstract or table of contents.

Topics will include:

  1. Introduction and brief history of the chosen airline
  2. Fleet analysis including issues associated with fleet composition
  3. Route structure analysis (hub and spoke, point to point, or linear)
For example, does the route structure fit the regional needs?
  4. Cost control analysis
For example, how effective is the airline at controlling their costs, and what techniques (like fuel hedging) do they use?
  5. Profitability
Historic, recent, and your future profit projections
  6. Recommendations for improvement

Behavioral economists examine choices that consumers make that are not economically rational. Economists generally assume that people are rational; that is, they weigh the benefits and costs of an action and choose an action only if the benefits outweigh the costs. Why do consumers not act rationally when the result is that they make themselves worse off?

Provide a personal example when you did not act rationally. What were some of the economic reasons behind your behavior?

Sit down and prepare a prospectus that outlines  what you intend to research/ write about.  Your prospectus should  introduce your basic working thesis, the research you intend to pursue,  and the basic outline of how you plan to present it.  You should already  be coming to some conclusions about “what a garden is” & “why we  garden” so that you will have something specific to explore.

  • You are not bound to your prospectus.  You are allowed to change  your mind. However, if you do change your mind / direction  significantly, please submit a new prospectus for my approval.
  • Your prospectus must be more specific than, “I plan to do research and find out why people garden and what a garden is.”

I am looking for the specific direction and an outline of at least several things you wish to research.

Assume that An agency has focused its system development and critical infrastructure data correlation efforts on separate engineering management systems for different types of assets and is working on the integration of these systems. In this case, the agency focused on the data collection for two types of assets: water treatment and natural gas delivery management facilities. Please identify what type of critical infrastructure data correlation is needed between these two facilities.

As indicated above, identify what type of critical infrastructure data collection is needed for pavement and stormwater management facilities.
