Oral language and literacy development can be affected by physical health and ability, cultural characteristics, and socioeconomic factors, among other things. Students with difficulties in these areas often do not follow the typical rate of oral language and literacy development that other children do. To plan effective instruction, special education teachers must understand the typical literacy development of students across grade level bands, as well as their variations, in order to meet the needs of all students.

Design a 10‐15 slide digital presentation describing typical language development, and factors that can influence that development, for each of the following grade level bands: Kindergarten, Grades 1‐3, Grades 4‐6, and Grades 7‐8. Be sure to include a title slide, reference slide, and presenter’s notes.

Within your presentation, address the following:

• Identify typical language and literacy development.
• Analyze how oral language development influences literacy and academic achievement.
• Summarize how various factors (physical health and ability, cultural characteristics, socioeconomic factors, etc.) can influence language and literacy development within K‐8 grade levels.

Support your work with 3‐5 scholarly resources.

Assume you are in charge of developing the strategy for an international company selling products in 50 different countries around the world. One of the issues you face is whether to employ a multi-domestic strategy, a global strategy, or a transnational strategy. 

a. If your company’s product is mobile phones, do you think it would make better strategic sense to employ a multi-domestic strategy, a global strategy, or a transnational strategy? Why? 

b. If your company’s product is dry soup mixes and canned soups, would a multi-domestic strategy seem to be more advisable than a global strategy? Why? 

c. If your company’s product is large home appliances such as washing machines, ranges, ovens, and refrigerators, would it seem to make more sense to pursue a multi-domestic strategy, a global strategy, or a transnational strategy? Why? 

d. If your company’s product is apparel and footwear, would a multi-domestic strategy, a global strategy, or a transnational strategy seem to have more appeal?

This week we will have some fun exploring the amazing biodiversity on earth!

Pick one species as your favorite creature! It could be an animal, plant, fungus or bacteria. Humans and pets are excluded. Use reliable information sources to research this creature and answer at least 3 of these questions:

• Which other species is your favorite creature related to and what are some of its ancestors?
• What makes your favorite creature unique compared to other species?
• Are there any concerns about the population status of your species? Is its population affected by human activities? Explain.
• What is your favorite creature’s geographic range? In which ecosystem/biome does it live?
• How does your favorite creature fit into the food web? What does it eat? And who eats it?

Everyone must also include why you picked this particular species as your favorite creature, and at least one embedded picture or video of your species.

As always, your main response should be a minimum of 150 words

If there is a mission statement, do you think it is effective? If there is no mission statement, how would your company benefit from developing one?

Over the course of this unit, we have discussed the importance of mission and vision statements. As a part of that discussion, we analyzed mission and vision statements for their effectiveness. For the Unit II Essay, you will expand on this topic. 

Using your favorite search engine, research the mission and vision statements of different fortune 500 companies. Then, you will write an essay in which you compare and contrast the mission statements of two companies and the vision statements of two companies. You may use the same companies for both the mission and vision comparisons or separate companies. 

Within your essay, include the information below. 

• Explain the principle value of two vision statements. 
• Explain the principle value of two mission statements. 
• Compare and contrast vision statements of each organization in terms of composition and importance. 
• Compare and contrast mission statements of each organization in terms of composition and importance. 
• Do you think organizations that have comprehensive mission statements tend to be high performers? How do mission and vision statements assist in selecting an industry-specific strategy? 
• Explain why a mission statement should not include monetary amounts, numbers, percentages, ratios, goals, or objectives. 

Your essay should be a minimum of three pages in length or approximately 750 words, not including the title and reference pages. You must also include an outside source from the CSU Online Library to support your explanations. Follow APA standards for formatting and referencing.

Aristotle defined tyranny as an illegitimate form of government by one individual that tightly controlled every part of life and government. Adolf Hitler is the most notorious tyrant. Using a totalitarian society from the past or present, discuss how the state and its leader attempt to impede citizens from exercising their rights. In your discussion, explain some components of an “ideal citizen,” consequences of voter apathy, and ways the state controls the citizen.
