This week you will continue your work on the project to evaluate higher education student aid data. You will test your recommended U.S. Student Aid database schema, build the database, and develop the business intelligence queries that will enable you to answer the following project questions:

  • Which schools generate the highest amount of debt for the average student who attends?
  • What is the employment rate for the students who graduate from this school?

Revise the schema you submitted in the Week One Individual Assignment, “U.S. Student Aid Initial Database Schema” per your instructor’s feedback.

Test your schema by completing the following tasks:

  • Define the database tables you will need and group the tables by function. Document your tables in an annotated Microsoft® Visio® diagram.
  • Develop the SQL queries needed and populate the tables from the data downloaded during the Week One Individual Assignment, “U.S. Student Aid Database Initial Database Schema.”
  • Define an appropriate strategy to optimize and incorporate best practices in to the SQL that you created.
  • Document your SQL and metadata in Microsoft® Visio® or Microsoft® Excel®.
  • Capture screenshots of each query result.

Document your results as a 4- to 5- slide Microsoft® PowerPoint® presentation or a 1-page Microsoft®Word document that:

  • Describes your SQL, populated tables, and the best practices you used to develop your SQL queries
  • Includes the SQL statements and corresponding screenshots of each query result

Note: The final Week Five Individual Assignment, “U.S. Student Data Debrief” requires a project summary and debrief that builds on this and subsequent Individual Assignments. Therefore, it is recommended that you select the delivery method of a Microsoft® PowerPoint® presentation or a Microsoft® Word document you will want to use consistently throughout these assignments.

Compress your revised diagram(s), testing results documentation and SQL files into a ZIP file.

Maslow’s hierarchy of needs is just one of several motivational theories discussed in this unit. It is a foundational concept in the role of a criminal justice administrator, whether in law enforcement, corrections, or courts.

For this assignment, you will examine Maslow’s hierarchy of needs. Each of the levels in the hierarchy of needs must be examined in detail as it relates to administration and personnel. Make certain that your essay meets the criteria below.

1) First, include an introduction. Then, explain how a criminal justice administrator could apply Maslow’s model in each of the leadership theories (trait, style, and situational leadership) discussed in Chapter 2 on pp. 36–40 of the textbook. Give an example from each of the three criminal justice sectors (law enforcement, corrections, and courts) to support your explanation.

2) Second, briefly identify one other motivational theory from the textbook (pp. 41–46) that can also be applied in all three criminal justice sectors. Give an example of how it could be used in each.

3) Third, discuss how the application of Maslow’s hierarchy of needs contributes to effective communication in a criminal justice organization. Give an example from each of the three criminal justice sectors (law enforcement, corrections, and courts) to support your discussion.

4) Finally, analyze the connection between Maslow’s beliefs and how they relate to an administrator’s requirement to be aware of and respect the rights of employees. Give an example from each of the three criminal justice sectors (law enforcement, corrections, and courts) to support your analysis.

Your essay must be a minimum of three pages in length, not counting the title page and references page. You are required to use at least two sources to support your essay, one of which may be the textbook. All sources used must be properly cited. Your essay, including all references, will be formatted in APA Style.

You work for FaceKonnect, a social networking company that allows users to connect with other individuals based on their location and employment. In order to sign up with FaceKonnect, individuals must create a profile with personal information regarding their name, age, gender, geographical location, job description, and hobbies. Once enrolled, users are also allowed to express their opinions about whatever they like or dislike on their profile, they can add “Konnections” (friends), and create groups. FaceKonnect is a big advocate for the First Amendment and seldom blocks users from posting comments. You are in charge of the Human Resources Department at FaceKonnect and have the following situation brought to your attention:

Stephanie has a FaceKonnect online profile where she has expressed some controversial ideas. In one post, Stephanie has encouraged her “Konnections” to go out and commit human sacrifices in the name of Satan, alleging that that is the only way to fix the vast problems of the world. She has other controversial posts where she speaks of her personal love for Satan and what people should do to make him happy. Stephanie also posted some disturbing pornographic images along with that post. FaceKonnect failed to do anything about Stephanie’s posts, as it overlooked them. The spouse of a woman that was abused and murdered by Peter, a Konnection of Stephanie’s who became so engulfed in Stephanie’s post that he began to worship her and felt that she was a messenger that had to be listened to, filed a civil suit against both Stephanie and FaceKonnect. In addition, the spouse wants both Stephanie and FaceKonnect to face criminal charges for the incident. The government has further issued a subpoena to FaceKonnect requesting that FaceKonnect provide the government with all of the personal information of all of its users in order to conduct a thorough investigation of FaceKonnect.

You must write a 2-3 page analysis that includes the following: (a) an analysis of the First Amendment and how it applies to this particular case, (b) an analysis of the Fourth Amendment and how it applies to this particular case, (c) an analysis of the ethical responsibilities of FaceKonnect and whether they acted ethically under these circumstances, (d) an analysis of what is the likely outcome under this set of facts.
