Purpose of Assignment

To develop effective relationship marketing, a company must first understand its targeted consumers’ buying influences and behaviors. This week’s assignment is the first part of the development of a marketing plan. It provides the foundation of the marketing plan and introduces the student to a variety of diagrammatic tools for understanding a business.

All diagram(s) should be in APA format and must include a subsequent discussion of the diagram(s) providing insight and clarity.

Develop the first two parts of the Target Market section, which includes an overview of the demographics (age, income, family members, and birthdays) and psychographics (activities, interests, and opinions) analysis. This is not a detailed analysis but an overview (basic trends and insights from the data that is presented in annual reports and other SEC type filings).

Explain the insights you have gained from your inspection and analysis of the demographic and psychographic information you have found.

Format your assignment according to APA guidelines.

While there are specific stress management techniques proven to be effective, this does not relieve health psychology professionals from finding the most suitable stress management strategies for their clients and the specific stressors from which they suffer. As mentioned in this week’s Discussion, there are a variety of cultural, biological, and environmental factors impacting how populations respond to stress. As a result, there has been a great deal of research conducted on stress management for specific populations. The outcome is a list of topics included in stress management educational sessions that differ by population. Training may include a variety of strategies such as productive versus nonproductive coping, time management, and goal setting. Since one strategy may not effectively relieve all types of stress response, participants in stress management workshops may be taught an array of different strategies from which to choose.

For this assignment, research a population for which you would like to create a stress management workshop. Then find four articles in the Walden Library related to stress management techniques appropriate for the types of stress your population faces.

The Assignment (3–5 page APA-formatted essay)

Your Final Project in this course is to develop a stress management presentation/workshop for a population of your choice including a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation, three handouts, an evaluation form, and a supporting evidence-based descriptive narrative. This week’s assignment serves as the foundation for the deliverables of your Final Project.

  • Select and describe a target population.
  • Explain common stressors and related health issues for this population.
  • Select and empirically support three stress management strategies.
  • Explain why these strategies are appropriate for the target population.

Part 1: Create a thread and do BOTH of the following:

1) Provide a comprehensive response about the reading this week to include 3 to 4 full paragraphs of sufficient detail about what you learned and HOW you can apply what you learned. Use external research to support your narrative (outside of the textbook). Cite your research using in-text citations and provide a reference section at the end of your work. Use the APA format for your response. In addition to your significant post, provide 2 ADDITIONAL follow up posts to other people’s initial reply. Your follow up should be substantive and use additional research (in APA) for your 2 follow-up posts.

2) Describe whether you feel that online class discussion help in learning the material, or that they do not help. (And explain why or why not.)

To prepare for this Discussion:

• Review Chapter 2 in the course text, Introduction to Forensic Psychology: Research and Application. Consider the internal and external contexts of police work. Focus on the various roles that a forensic psychology professional can perform in both internal and external contexts related to police work.

• Review the assigned chapters from Psychology and Policing.
Note the information on contextual situations related to aggression, violence, and the interviewing of witnesses and suspects. Think about the roles that forensic psychology professionals could perform in each context, and consider how they could impact police professionals in these contexts.

• Review the article, “A Psychological Force Behind the Force,” including the sub pages. Think about forensic psychology professional roles that can influence the internal and external contexts of police work.

• Select two roles that forensic psychology professionals may have when working with police.

• Think about the ways in which forensic psychology professionals impact police work in both internal and external contexts.

With these thoughts in mind:

Post by Day 4 a brief description of two forensic psychology professional roles. Then, analyze the impact of each role in both an internal context (i.e., within the police department) and an external context (i.e., outside the police department—n eighborhoods, schools, etc.). Be specific and provide examples. Support your analysis with references to the Learning Resources.

To prepare for this assignment:

  • Review Chapter 2 in the course text, Introduction to Forensic Psychology: Research and Application. Focus on the similarities and differences between the internal and external roles of a forensic psychology professional.

  • Think about the similarities and differences between these roles within internal and external contexts of police work.

The assignment (1–2 pages):

  • Describe two roles that forensic psychology professionals have when working with police. (These roles should be different from the ones that you used in this week’s Discussion.)

The focus of this case study (p. 405) is Starwood’s sales and operations planning from the perspective of both corporate planners and individual hotel property general managers. These two perspectives give you a unique view of what the aggregate planning process looks like, and how it gets translated into operational plans at the property level.

Discuss

1.  At what points in the planning process would you expect accounting/finance, marketing, information systems, and operations to play a role? What inputs should these areas provide, andwhy?

2. Does Starwood employ a chase, mixed or a level strategy? Why is this approach the best choice for the company?

3. How would staffing for the opening of a brand-new hotel or resort differ from that of an existing property? What data might Starwood rely upon to make sure the new property is not over- or under-staffed in its first year of operation?
