Directions: Choose one of the topics below, and write a 5 page research paper on the topic. You must use at least 2 print sources and 2 internet sources, one of which MUST be an online journal such as Jstor. Your textbook does NOT count as a print source. Paper must be double-spaced in 12 point, Times New Roman font (no Courier New font). Number your pages; construct and include a relevant title. Compose a “Works Cited” page in MLA format (See the MLA Handbook for Writers of Research Papers or use one of the many online applications for help such as Purdue OWL, Easybib., Bibme etc.). Consult the chapters from our textbook entitled “Writing a Research Paper” (Chapter 43) and “Writing about Literature” (Chapter 39) for help with the process of research and writing. Please have a thesis statement in bold at the end of the first paragraph.

For this Assignment, as you examine the client case study in this week’s Learning Resources, consider how you might assess and treat adult and older adult clients presenting symptoms of a mental health disorder.

 

Examine Case 2: You will be asked to make three decisions concerning the diagnosis and treatment for this client. Be sure to consider co-morbid physical, as well as mental factors that might impact the client’s diagnosis and treatment.

Anxiety disorders are common in both primary care and psychiatric practice. Clients with anxiety disorders including generalized anxiety disorders, agoraphobia, and other specific phobias will present to the PMHNP’s office with a significant level of distress. Successful recognition and treatment of anxiety disorders includes an accurate diagnostic assessment with a treatment plan that includes a combination of psychopharmacology and psychotherapy. Although psychoanalytic theories are based on the concept of anxiety, the more recent standard of care is with the cognitive-behavioral therapies.

 

In this Discussion, you will analyze evidence-based treatment plans for clients with anxiety disorders.

A 60-year-old woman has just been diagnosed with osteoporosis. She does not understand how this could be possible, as she has always been a milk drinker.

  1. As the nurse caring for her, explain the risk factors for developing osteoporosis.
  2. Explore patient-care technologies and how you would use these in educating her on this new diagnosis.
  3. Identify the type of pain this individual will most likely experience with a diagnosis of osteoporosis. Briefly include the pathophysiology in your rationale to this answer.

Your checklist must contain the important legal, ethical and professional big ideas for each and every classroom and school/center.

Post an explanation regarding how assessments such as the Gender Traits Test relate to alpha and beta errors. Does this type of assessment overemphasize or minimize differences between masculine and feminine traits? What possible impact might this type of assessment have on research related to gender? (Note: You should not disclose your own test score.)

Construct an inspirational presentation (including both audio and visual elements) that asserts and defends the importance of innovative leadership, social justice, and 21st Century learning in early childhood settings. You may use a choice of tools for your audio and visual presentation: PowerPoint with audio narration.
