Read the case, Harley-Davidson Inc. in May 2015 attached. Use the case analysis format provided below to  identify and address the problems and provide several suggested solutions that the Harley-Davidson Inc. executive team can review for possible implementation.
Be sure to “identify 2 to 3 problems” and “develop 2 to 3 possible solutions to the problems identified”, and use this as the focus for making your case in the case format.

Note: The case questions provided at the end of each case can be used as an insight to what the problems might be; so be sure to investigate the case carefully.

Topic:  Rule-Based Classifiers vs. Decision Tree Models

Overview:  The purpose of this assignment is to determine which method is more appropriate in certain scenarios for building classification models relative to data mining practices.

Classification is a pervasive data mining problem which has many applications, such as medical analysis, fraud detection, and network security. Various types of classification approaches have been proposed to address research problems. Classification is generally divided into two steps. First, construct a classification model based on the training dataset. Second, use the model to predict new instances for which the class labels are unknown. Hence, classification divides data samples into target classes. The classification technique predicts the target class for each data point. For example in the medical industry, patients can be classified as high risk or low risk patient based on their disease pattern using data classification approach. It is a supervised learning approach having known class categories.

  • Compare and contrast Rule-Based Classifiers vs. Decision Tree Models. For example, a training dataset is not required with rule-based classifiers, but this method is difficult to work with due to all the rules that must be listed.
  • In what situations is it better to use Rule-Based Classifiers rather than a Decision Tree model? Are they mutually exclusive techniques?
  • Please provide a real-world example to support your inferences.

Please ensure you refer to the rubric for specific details on the requirements for this assignment!

Elon-Musk donated $10 million to a foundation called the Future of Life Institute.  The institute published an open letter from an impressive array of AI experts who call for careful research into how humanity can reap the benefits of AI while avoiding its pitfalls.  Go online and find out about the institutes initiatives.  What are its primary goals?  How can humans establish and maintain careful oversight of the work carried out by robots?  How valid are Elon Musk, Bill Gates, and Stephen Hawkings concerns?  What other concerns should the public bear in mind as the technological revolution advances?

Tim Trainer has been asked to come in and help administrative assistants at Law Legal with using Microsoft Word. The administrative assistants must use Word to type up legal briefs using tools they do not use on a normal basis, such as line numbering, spacing, and table of contents. Tim collects some data from the law office and finds the administrative assistants ages are 38-62, they work on computers all day, and have many training handouts posted around their desk to carry out tasks. Tim Trainer has a training room with computers, a projector, and a laptop for him to use.

Please use the Four-Phase Process to outline the design of the training.

Have you ever seen an ad, picture, or clip on the news of a developing country and wondered, Whats it like to live like that? Your answer might be based on actual experience if you lived in that country, or you might form your opinion by reading about conditions in different types of countries or watching a video, such as any of these:

The United Nations and World Bank compare such parameters as gross domestic product (GDP), education, literacy rate, health care, and life expectancy to distinguish between developed and developing countries. Using these measures and those for standards of living, level of industrialization, and quality and range of infrastructure, countries are placed in a sort of scale called the Demographic Transition Model (DTM).

(Roser and Ortiz-Supina, 2018)

Assignment Details

Choose ONE of the following four topics. For that topic, and using what you have learned about living conditions and the DTM, discuss your experience in a Phase 4 country (presumably the United States) and compare and contrast that with the same resource in a country in Phase 2 or 3 of the DTM.

Topic Choices

  • Describe your educational experience in a developed country, and compare it to the educational experience in a developing country.
  • Describe the last time you went to the hospital, and contrast how this experience might differ in a developing country.
  • Describe your last trip to the grocery store, and compare the availability of food with that in a developing country.
  • Explain your biggest use of water, and then describe how this differs from the availability and supply of water in a developing country.

Review the case study found on page 340 of your textbook, titled, Finding the Right View: Developing Local Talent in Local Markets.

Using this scenario as a basis, in a two-page APA-formatted paper, using at least two peer-reviewed sources from the CSU Online Library and the course textbook as supporting documentation, address the following issues.

  • How employees will be selected for expatriate assignments.
  • What pre-departure discussion points will be discussed.
  • How the training and orientation plan will prepare and develop expatriates prior to departure.
  • How employee anxiety and fear of overseas work will be mitigated.
  • How a repatriation program will be instituted, including potential problems and solutions.
  • How the transfer of knowledge of global assignments will benefit future expatriates.
  • What strategies will be used to increase the participation and success of women in expatriate assignments.

You should include a title page and a reference page, which do not count toward the required number of pages.

For this discussion, respond to the following…
