pro death penalty
Project description
This is a position paper on the death penalty(pro death penalty)
Each paper must have a clearly written introduction, body, and conclusion. The introduction contains a statement of your thesis, for example, “I believe X is moral (or immoral) because it 1), 2), and 3).” From your thesis you derive your main points. The reasons you believe X is moral are your main points.

Each position paper should include:

A brief INTRODUCTION describing the problem, stating your position, and giving a brief sketch of the major points to be covered in your paper. <
The BODY of the paper, consisting of arguments supporting your position (it is very important to be able to support your position); each of your main points should serve as the topic sentence of each paragraph of the body of your paper.

The CONCLUSION, summarizing your position and key arguments you used to support your findings.

Be sure to support your position/beliefs with research findings, arguments, analogies, established facts, and logical reasoning. NO UNSUPPORTED OPINIONS! These references must be cited as footnotes, endnotes, or works cited.

There is no “correct position” for purposes of grading; if your position is well defended, shows understanding of the issue, and makes sense you will receive a top grade.

All papers must meet the minimum standards of correct spelling, punctuation, grammar, and style (especially introduction, body, conclusion, and logical support for your points); each paper should have the equivalent of 1-inch margins and contain 10 or 12 pitch letters and 2-3 pages in length. The paper can be single or double-spaced.
You may pick any topic as long as it is a controversial ethical issue (one in which a credible argument can be made for both sides of the issue). Your thesis is a statement of the position you will defend (“Abortion is moral because…,” or “Abortion is immoral because…”). Your main points consist of the three main arguments you will use to defend your thesis. Simple!

You must have 3-5 academic references like books, journals, or online articles–but should NOT include things like online encyclopedias (like Wikipedia), mom and pop websites, dictionaries, etc. You must cite/document your support with footnotes in the text and referenced in your bibliography or works cited. You must follow any Manual of Style of your choice (MLA, Turabian, Chicago Manual of Style, APA, etc.) so that you turn in a professional product. You should “attach” your paper as a MS-Word document or Rich Text Format (.rtf) file so formatting is properly retained.

This is NOT a descriptive/historical paper about the issue, but a clear statement of the problem and your subsequent defense of your philosophical position. You are answering the question WHY something is moral or immoral–NOT merely telling about your topic
