I am a graduate having a Bachelors Science degree in Criminal Justice Administration and would love to have a chance to work with your organization. If given a chance, I promise that I will be a performer in the office I will be entitled to and work under minimal supervision. I am well equipped with knowledge on this area of study as I have been able to integrate the knowledge gained in class with first hand experience as an intern with various agencies of social control such as police and courts which enabled me have an understanding of workplace practices.

During my study programme, I was able to learn about policing and correctional system, concepts in criminal justice, uses of technology in dealing with crime, cross cultural communication and physiology, crime investigation, theories in crime and offending, correctional systems used, social research and public policy, international human rights and global crime and finally theories about working in organizations, ethical practices expected and crime prevention. Under concepts in criminal justice, I was able to discover that a criminal justice system is simply a set of various social and legal institutions used in enforcing criminal law with a set of rules that are procedural and their limitations.  Criminal justice system can be categorized either as state, separate federal and military justice system and all these systems are separate for both juveniles and adults. It also includes various subsystems which are major in nature composed of more or few public institutions including their staffs such as appellate and trial courts, public defender and prosecution offices, law enforcement agencies and police, parole and probation, departments of correction and custodial institutions such as prisons and jails. Among these systems there are also important private and public actors namely bail bondsmen, private defense attorneys, agencies providin  supervision, assistance and offenders treatment. There are also other administrative agencies who indulge themselves in criminal law enforcement. Under crime investigation and prevention as a unit course, I was able to discover various tips on controlling and preventing crime such as creating awareness among the public so that they can reduce the rate of crimes experienced by asking them to avoid carrying huge amounts of cash through the use  of  credit cards or charge cards, to avoid dozing off in public areas and leaving their luggage unattended,  if asked about directions they should always make sure to keep a safe distance, they should always walk against the flow of traffic in the opposite direction,  avoiding overcrowded places or squeezing themselves into the public transport modes, to always react immediately if one has been snatched his/her valuables by lodging a police report or informing the company or bank to cancel the ATM card or credit card so as to avoid loosing cash to the criminals. For better crime investigation we were introduced to specialized investigative skills which combined intensive study in philosophy and psychology and criminal justice. On ethical practices we were able to address all the main issues that surround professional legal ethics where we were able to compare ethical standard existing in lawyers and those in civil and common law systems .

From the unit courses described above, I think I am competent enough to be offered the job, since I have vast knowledge in communication skills  thus being able to investigate the accused by interviewing them and getting the necessary information needed,  knowledge of the discipline as I were able to get knowledge from various fields that are related such as crime prevention and investigation, concept in crime justice and ethical practices  and theories about working thus being able to handle various tasks at once and have management skills. I have been able to integrate classroom knowledge with fast hand experience through internships in various organizations dealing with criminal justice administration such as the courts and police administrations. During the internship I gained knowledge on ethics and theories of a work place and how to investigate crimes i.e. I learned that in order to carry out a successful investigation on has to conduct interviews from the victims involved in the crime, their loved ones and most importantly the investigator who is responsible for bringing criminals to justice. After getting the crimes one has to further examine them by re-enchantments that were shot in the place of crime for evidence purposes.  I was able to learn on how to research and analyze contents using various computer soft wares where I was able to organize data   in various databases for easy retrieval and I was also able to improve my analytical and problem solving skills as I was being consulted on some matters and the way forward. Having knowledge in this area of study, I was able to offer ideas that were implemented in the organization.

If given a chance to work in your organization, I will ensure that I am an agent of change by making sure that justice is being done and those who are found guilty and imprisoned will undergo reformation where by at the end of their term in jail they will be valuable, constructive and agents of change in the communities they will reside due to the skills they will  have acquired as inmates.
