This is the book you’ll need to cite from;
Engleberg,Isa,and John Daly,Presentations in Everyday Life (3rd edition)
(my speechlab series).Boston:Allyn, 2008.

NOTE FROM PROFESSOR:

Reaction Papers (15%) Each student will view their speech and write an analysis of their performance.  To do this he/she will cite their textbook and other scholarly sources.

This is your chance to show me what you know!

After you are to watch your performance and you are to  write a reflection based on what you see.
I want you to include terminology that you have learned in class and through your text, (particularly from chapters 1, 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11, 12, 14, 15, & 6)
Iam looking for you to point out your areas of strength as well as things you want to improve on. Some examples of things you may want to touch on:

=”ltr” style=”font-family: Arial, Helvetica, Verdana, ‘Bitstream Vera Sans’, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 1.125; margin: 0pt 0px 0pt 54pt; padding: 0px;”>        Body language

        Hand gestures
        Facial expression
        Connectives
        Introduction and Conclusion
Remember, these are only some of the skills you can write about.

You are to use the text to back up your thoughts.  The more you use the text the better. You must use at least 1 other scholarly source to receive an A. Again, particularly from chapters 1, 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11, 12, 14, 15, & 6). Proper MLA citations must be included.

Remember this is your chance to tell me that you know what you wanted to do but just may not have done it the way you wanted to.   For example you may have wanted to use hand gestures but forgot or got nervous, tell me about it.  On the flip side you can tell me that you worked on your opening all week and it turned out better than you expected. I will not know these things unless you tell me.

I am not going to give a minimum on the length because it should be as long as needed to tell me what you want to tell me. Make it as long, as it needs to be and as thorough as possible, please; thank you.
The presentations are attached and each one requires its own reaction paper.

Note from me:

I need these papers ASAP, as they’re already long over due! :( Sorry for the pressed time constraint, but these are already over-due and my final course grade greatly depends on them! Keep in mind that the first two presentations have no conclusion because I ran out of speaking time. The first presentation, on sleep deprivation is an informative presentation. The last two are persuasive presentations on Mary Kay Cosmetics, one on encouraging the audience to become a Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultant and the other on convincing the audience to buy at least one Mary Kay product.

Beginning Videos:
I’m attaching the videos that begin each presentation here, because for some reason they tend to be inaudible when the presentations are played.
