1. Select a concept/term relevant to nursing

A. The thesis statement within the introduction to the work should detail what concept your work will speak to, why its important to nursing, and how you will present information to the reader.

B. Any relevant subtopics should be included in these 1-2 opening paragraphs.

2. In a paragraph you need to discuss why concept analysis is important in general and what about your concept’s analysis will add to the body of nursing knowledge.

3. Concept literature review should detail how nursing scholars are defining and using your concept.

A. Describe how you conducted your literature search: which data bases did you explore? how many returned potential peer-reviewed sub missions were there? What do nursing scholar say about the concept, how are scholars defining the concept or using it? When did your concept first appear in the nursing literature? How has the concept changed over time? What standard did you employ to willow down the potential number of articles returned into a grouping sufficient to define the term but still remain a readable number? Only schoraly papers,journals from the past 5 years.

B. You should also discussion how other disciplines define and use the concept. Repeat for other disciples all the questions you just answered in “A” for nursing.

4. Now you need a section that details the concepts attributes (key characteristics) as seen by nursing scholar. The concepts antecedents (anything that needs to be present before your concept manifests) and the consequences (what happens after your concept appears) as explored by nursing scholars.

5. A model case is 1-2 paragraphs were you discuss a real world case study of when, where, & how your concept would be seen or used.

6. Summary in which you revisit briefly ONLY information already presented in the text body- no new thoughts, information or citations are to be presented
