The assignment is to choose a musician, artist, and/or celebrity (this excludes all political and/or religious leaders) and to explain their personality using information that the we know about them (e.g., through the media, news, etc.). The idea is to create a “psychobiography” of someone’s life. In other words—learn about this person’s life and personality and explain how it came to be that way using the theories that we have covered in the course. You can use as many theoretical perspectives as you want (minimum of two). You will also need to include a minimum of three scholarly articles to support your argument/position. Copies of articles must be presented with paper. Failure to do will result in a zero. This assignment is due on week six.

When grading your paper, I will be looking at the following factors:

• 20%-Did you do sufficient research in learning about your subject? (This means finding biographical material from a credible source. Using biographies, autobiographies, interviews, or multiple journal articles would be considered strong research; relying on a movie and a Wikipedia article would be considered weak research)
• 50%- Have you demonstrated a thorough and accurate understanding of the theories you chose to apply? Have you used peer-reviewed articles to support your position?
• 20%- How well (thoughtfully, accurately, thoroughly, creatively) did you apply your theories? How well did you do in presenting the facts and theories?
• 10%- paper formatting (APA/MLA style, 12 point times new roman, double spaced, one inch margins, correct spelling and punctuation, and 3-5 pages).
