I’m going to write a paper about “Barong and Rangda in Indonesia”.
The paper is about:
– How Balinese religion related to Barong and Rangda
– They do the dance for a reason to protect themselves and find harmony
– The original Barong and Rangda dance is ritual and when there is tourist, it becomes an art performance.
– Explain barong rangda, related to religion, discussion of adaptation from traditional to tourism.
– History of Barong vs. Rangda in Bali
– Storyline of Barong vs. Rangda in Bali
– In the past, the dance performance is like a ritual and has a meaning
– The Costumes
– The mask has the spirit
– Purification before the performance
– The rituals before the performance
– Possession during the performance
– The music – loud and repetitive so helps the dancer
For this assignment, the teacher required me to find a relatable sources that I will use for writing this paper and make the annotated bibliography.
