1) The grand jury was developed in the 1300s in England as a way to interpose the citizenry against the absolute power of the monarch. Is such an institution still needed today? why or why not?

 

2) Is it fair that prosecutors’ offices have all of the resources of the state at their disposal, whereas a defense attorney has only himself/herself and a limited staff? Does this imbalance contribute to a basic unfairness in the criminal justice system? why or why not?
