TEXTBOOK TO USE: •Mathis, R. L., Jackson, J. H., & Valentine, S. R. (2017). Human Resource Management. Boston, MA: Cengage Learning.
Please note: the Final Paper is due the last day of class. Because the course ends on this day, no late submissions will be accepted for a grade. Do not wait until the last minute to try to submit this, as any issues with technology (Internet is down at your house, your final version didn’t save correctly, you can’t access Canvas, etc.) will not be accepted as excuses. If you do not submit your paper on time, you will receive a 0, and this is a significant portion of your grade for the course. Get started early, and submit it early so that you still have the option to submit a revision (if needed) before the final deadline!
Final Paper
MBA 607 includes a Final Paper that covers the cumulative course content throughout our four modules. Using content from the three chapters of the textbook, your HR practitioner interview, and your other independent research, describe in detail what you have learned about:
- legally required and strategic components of total rewards
- the impact of base pay and variable pay on employee performance
- how pay-for-performance, sales incentives, and executive compensation support organizational strategy
- various types of employee benefits, including health, retirement, and wellness plans
Think of this assignment as a summary of the important lessons of the course, as if you were writing a mini-textbook. This can also be a good source of reference material for you as you continue in your education and your career, so be sure that you are writing this in such a way as to be a useful resource in the future.
You may use the content you have written in previous assignments in this course. You should not, however, simply copy-and-paste from your other assignments and consider this complete… This assignment is your opportunity to revise, build upon, add to, and fully integrate your previous work together with new research and editing as needed.
Use in-text citations to show where you are applying or discussing content from your textbook. In addition to the textbook, you are required to apply content from at least three (3) scholarly sources. Be sure to cite where you are applying or discussing content from these sources as well. End your paper with a References list that gives the full details about the sources. In-text citations and References should be formatted according to APA standards.
