Objective

Unit 3: Neurological Data Collection Techniques: B. Utilize standardized outcome measurement tools in neuromuscular rehabilitation.

Procedure

Students will choose one outcome measure relevant to neurorehab physical therapy to present in a paper. This assignment will include a written paper as well as a poster presentation discussing the outcome measure and will be used to educate other students in the class. The paper and the posters will be displayed for a period of time for all students and faculty to view. The written paper portion of this assignment will include the following: 1. At least 2 FULL pages in length 2. Times New Roman Font 3. 12 points font 4. Double spaced 5. 1вЂк margins 6. See rubric for details to be included in the content of the paper Please see the rubric for criteria regarding the poster presentation portion of this assignment.

 

 

Rubric:

At least 3 objectives are clearly stated at the beginning of paper AND the audience clearly understands the outcomes for the presentation.

The measureвЂTMs relevance to PT is clearly identified. Audience is able to recognize how this measure may be used in the PT field.

Appropriate patient diagnoses (3 or more) for which the outcome may be used are identified AND are relevant to the outcome measure.

At least one research article regarding the measure is cited AND includes a discussion as to whether the outcome measure supports the use (or non-use) of the measure in a PT facility.

Paper includes a discussion of the way in which data collected from the measure may assist with implementation of 1 or more quality assurance program(s) in a PT facility.
