Answer the following questions in numerical format (#1-5). 2-3 pages. MLA format. 12 Font Times New Roman only.

All work must be properly cited and unless otherwise noted; do not include pure opinion. 

1) Outline the basic history of the event(s). You can use a timeline or write it out.

2) What ways was disability defined during your topics era?

3) How were the differently abled (disabled) treated during your topics time?

4) What beliefs, attitudes and values of your chosen topics culture influenced the way differently abled people were treated?

5) In what ways has your chosen topics culture or era influenced modern American ideas on the differently abled and disability?

The counterfactual is a tool of the historian’s trade.  “What if something had or had not happened…”  Looking at the past 500 years, how might the modern world be different had the European powers not “discovered” the New World?  Read your text and the links provided in this section.  Also, watch the video provided to provide greater context for your answer.

• Option 4: Describe Joseph Stalin’s rise to total power in the USSR and how his paranoia and desire for total control led to the terrible purges of the 1930s.
