B. Assignment 2 – Conducting Research To Determine a Learning Organization (Project-based learning)

For this assignment, imagine that you have been hired as a consultant by an organization you are already familiar with. You have been asked to determine the learning culture of the organization and make recommendations based on your findings.

You will select any organization (e.g., business, workplace, community or religious organization, etc.) to conduct your research. Once you have identified the organization, you will need to select a sample of at least 6 to 10 participants who will complete a written assessment.

For this assignment you will describe (a) the organization, (b) the procedures for selecting your sample, (c) the process used to collect the data, (d) the method of data analysis, (e) the findings, and (f) recommendations based on the findings.

You will be able to choose one of the two assessments which are located in the Blackboard system under Assignment 2. Permission was granted for use of both assessments: (a) The Learning Organization Assessment by Jim Taggart, and (b) The Learning Organization Profile by Donald Clark.

Recommended length of the assignment is 4 to 6 pages, not including the cover page and References page. Remember to apply all appropriate conventions of APA-NSU form and style where appropriate: headings, in-text citations, references, and paraphrasing your interpretation of the research. You may write in first person. This assignment represents 20% of your overall grade.
