In this assignment you will select and review a media article (which can be obtained from a newspaper, magazine, social media site, or the internet) focusing on children in contemporary society, drawing on your understandings from Module 2: Children, social problems and social policy. Stimulated by the issue in the article you will then write a short plain language 650 word blog aimed at other educators, parents or a general community audience that outlines the key social issue, relevant social policy, and examples or snapshots illustrating the issue. The blog should utilise a view of the new sociological framework of childhood. You will need to show evidence of conducting a literature review on the issue and include an annotated bibliography (approx. 60 words per reference) of four significant scholarly literature sources relevant to the issue selected. As an attachment you should include a copy of the original article that stimulated the blog focus and a brief (100 – 110 word) review of this article.
