1. Perception.
Based on your own experiences and observations, discuss the demographics of the community/neighborhood you consider home, in this case VENEZUELA . Include a couple of sentences describing what you like most and what you like least.

2. Reality Check
Now, look at data provided by the LA Times Neighborhood project (http://maps.latimes.com/neighborhoods/) and evaluate how your community compares to California and USA (http://www.census.gov/). Create a simple table or chart summarizing racial/ethnic background, median income, educational attainment, and one more (your choice) then answer the following:
Are some racial groups over represented or under-represented in your community?
Are income figures below or above the national median?
What are the differences in educational attainment?
How different were your perceptions from the census-based data reality check?
(For the census data, go to Quick Facts, on the main census web page, and follow the prompts to select CA and click on Go.  You should get quick facts for both CA and US.  You can also select the USA Quick Facts tab at the top of that page which will get you the quick facts for the whole country.)
