Course participants will write a paper about mass shootings and the mental effect it has on people for the field of emergency mental health as it interfaces with homeland security. Please include mass shootings such as the Orlando night club shooting or school shootings things to that nature.

 

The paper should be a survey of the historical and contemporary literature with a focus on synthesizing the topic. The paper should be about 8-10 pages in length with at least 10-15 scholarly/professional references. The paper will be graded on clarity of expression, thoroughness of the review of the topic, and applicability to practice.
