 You may practice these topics at home; HOWEVER, NO OUTSIDE NOTES OR PAPER WILL BE ALLOWED DURING THE WRITING EXAM.

 Respond to each of the topics (200 words).  Your response should follow the standard format of a 5 paragraph essay.  Use the following as a guideline for your response:

 • Form a thesis statement about a given issue.  Make sure you have a well-written thesis statement that is placed correctly in each essay.
 • Support assertion with own reasoning and evaluation of evidence.    Make sure to add plenty of supportive details for your ideas.
 • Organize and connect major ideas logically.  Be sure your responses have an introductory, three body, and conclusion paragraphs that are cohesive and connected through the use of transitions.
 • Express ideas in the clearest form of standard English.   Proofread your writing for correct grammar forms and sentence structures.
