Topic

A senior manager within your organisation has asked you to undertake research and

provide a critical evaluation of the relevance of the international risk management

standard ISO 31000 to security practitioners.

Prepare a report directed to him/her, based on material deriving from a review of academic

literature and other relevant documentary sources. It is recognised that ‘security

practitioners’ is a very general term, and you have the flexibility to determine your

emphasis, so please clarify in the introduction whether you will be focusing on:

? Commercial security providers,

? Corporate (in-house) security,

? The security management discipline as a whole (i.e. both dimensions), OR

? The counter fraud discipline (an option for BSc Counter Fraud and Criminal Justice

students in particular).
