To build a strong foundation for subsequent work in this course.
What to do:
Thoroughly research your client using the materials it has provided and as many external sources as necessary.

Use endnotes to cite your sources (yes, even your social media sources). Here (Links to an external site.) is a guide to inserting endnotes.
Your endnotes should be written in APA format. Label whether the source was internal (produced by your client, about your client) or external (produced by someone else about your client or about the broader landscape in which it is working)

Tips:
Make sure your Big Picture section is about the broader social issue, NOT simply more information about your client.
Make sure your research sources are strong and reliable. You will likely need to go beyond a quick Google search. The best information is not always the first information to appear, and we want to see that you know the difference.
Make sure your information comes from a variety of internal and external sources. YouвЂTMll need to use information your client puts out about itself, information others put out about your client and information about its competitors and the broader social situation within which it operates.
Delve deeper into your research by finding original sources. For example, a cursory search might uncover a newspaper article that quoted an expert or referenced a report. Find that expert or that report.
Think hard about what makes a source credible. Believing that something is credible because “it came from the government,вЂк or because “the New York Times is a reputable news sourceвЂк does not demonstrate critical thinking.
Do not copy/paste information from a website into your assignment, even if you put it in direct quotes and even if you change a few words. This constitutes plagiarism and will be penalized accordingly. Instead, take the time to process the information and convey it in your own words.
DonвЂTMt get too hung up on formatting your endnotes. As long as you use endnotes and cite in APA style, youвЂTMre fine. Focus instead on the content of your assignment.
