Topic 3: Programs and Services that help Older Adults
Programs and services that help older adults
In the United States, many older adults receive a pension from their employer and/or from the government depending on how long they worked. Do you receive a pension, too? How did you become eligible to receive that pension? Do you think your pension is adequate for your needs? Any other sources of income?
– He gets social Security
– Has worked since 1963
– Pension is not adequate

When you need health care from a doctor or hospital, how is that paid for? How much do you have to pay? – Without medical technology he would not have been able to remove the skin cancer from his nose
– Without medical technology he would have never been able to have a hip replacement thus making him more physically impaired which would result in not as much of a happy life
