Review “Benchmark Assignment – Data Analysis Case Study” and “Benchmark Assignment – Data Analysis Case Study Data” for this topic’s case study, evaluating operations for a local restaurant.

Although your friend and restauranteur Michael Tanaglia offered to go over your findings in person, you believe it would be appropriate to also prepare a report and document your findings in writing. In a 1,000-1,250-word report, explain your approach for each evaluation and the rationale for the methods you used. Include any recommendations based on customer satisfaction, forecasting, and staff scheduling data.

Use an Excel spreadsheet file for the calculations and explanations. Cells should contain the formulas (i.e., if a formula was used to calculate the entry in that cell). Students are highly encouraged to use the “Benchmark Assignment – Data Analysis Case Study Template” and “Benchmark Assignment – Data Analysis Case Study Linear Programming Template” to complete this assignment.

What is the value of this theory for educators or trainers who are designing, implementing, or evaluating curriculum today?

Your research must include sources outside of the textbook. Be sure to use APA manuscript format for your submission.

Discussion 1: Social Change

There is a variety of elements that human services professionals should consider when they are developing and evaluating human services programs. Some of these elements include conducting a needs assessment, developing a problem statement and hypothesis, and determining goals and objectives for the program. Additionally, human services professionals can evaluate how programs can or did elicit social change as they develop and evaluate programs.

In this Discussion, you will present your Final Project to your colleagues. You will explore how your program might influence social change in a community in which it was implemented. You will also consider how your program could be evaluated in terms of its goals and objectives as well as its ability to elicit a desired social change.

To prepare for this Discussion:

Review Chapter 6 in your course text, focusing on how the particular design of a program evaluation influences social change.

Review the article “Developing a Progressive Advocacy Program Within a Human Services Agency,” focusing on how this program created social change. Think about those concepts you could use in your own project.

Review the article “Creating High-Impact Nonprofits.” Consider what suggestions you could use in creating social change.

Review the design of the human services program you developed for your Final Project.

Consider what kinds of social change your program could elicit in a particular community.

Reflect on the type of evaluation that would be effective if your program were to be implemented in a community.

Forum Discussion Questions

Please choose one of the questions posted below and  Answer fully.

Word Minimum 300 words

Each of these empires, Mughal, Safavid and Ottoman all followed Islam. Pick two and discuss how they differ in their intellectual history.

Discuss how the Muslims under the Ottoman Empire handled other religions. You are also to look at how the Ottomans dealt with those who were considered non-believers or gentiles.

In the chapters you read this week, were there any weaknesses discussed for each of these empires and what effect did these weaknesses have on these empires.

To prepare for this Discussion:

    • Review the article “A Critical Call for Connecting Students and Professional Associations.” Think about how becoming more involved in professional associations could be beneficial to your own future as a human services professional.

  • Review the article “Going Beyond Training: Theory and Practice in Managing Learning.” Reflect on how you can continually be learning and growing in your field of work.
  • Explore the Council for Standards in Human Service Education website listed in this week’s Learning Resources. Consider the importance of having a credential for achieving your goals as a human services professional.
  • Explore the Center for Credentialing & Education website listed in this week’s Learning Resources. Consider the different types of human service credentialing available, the responsibilities of each position, and how working for such credentials could improve your ability to be an effective human services professional.
  • Reflect on what you have studied and considered throughout this course. Focus on the various areas of human services and identify the areas in which you can see yourself working.

In a seamless posting, please incorporate the following questions into your initial postings:

Discuss the differences between a null hypothesis and an alternative hypothesis. In doing so, elaborate on why typically qualitative method studies do not state a hypothesis. Additionally, if you are going to use hypotheses in your research proposal list and discuss them.

Student expectations for Forum questions:

Your initial Forum posts require a minimum of a 500 word substantive response. All follow-up responses (minimum of 2) should require 250-300 words.

Scenario: An insurance company has hired you to do an evaluation of its training program. Members of management are particularly concerned about the new-hire training for new insurance agents. This training teaches the agents about all of the different policies offered by the company for life, auto, home, and health insurance. The current situation is that the company is paying each agent taking the course $300 a week while in training. The training course lasts for 8 weeks. This costs the company $2,400 in salary per agent during the training. The instructor is paid $5,000 for the 8 weeks. Other overhead expenses include site rental, supplies, and equipment, and they cost approximately $3,000. At the end of the training, the agents are assigned a trained agent to work with for 2 weeks (new agent pay is still $300 a week), and then they are assigned a territory. 45% of the agents trained quit before the end of the time with the trained agent. Another 20% quit or are fired within the first 3 months on the job. The company needs to find out what needs to be done to improve its hiring and training practices so that it retains more of the agents hired.

Your assignment is to develop a proposal 4 pages (in APA-manuscript format) for data collection. Specifically, you will be required to clearly explain and justify the data-collection plan you would follow to do the training program evaluation.

Be sure to include the following:

The data you will collect

Construct a data collection tool with a Likert scale.

The data collection tool should use 5 survey statements.

The Likert scale should include 5 categories from “agree” to “disagree.”

Classification of the data as quantitative or qualitative

Description of why the data are needed

Description of who you will collect the data from (sample) and what method you will use to determine the sample

Technology options that you might use to collect data and why the selected technology is appropriate

Be sure to use appropriate peer-reviewed sources (other than the textbook) to support and reinforce your choices. Because you have not yet collected data (your paper is just a proposed plan), do not make recommendations regarding the solution to the problem.

Your Statement of Learning should be around 800 words in length and will outline your areas for future personal development. 4 references please..

Reflective Blog Entries

Each Blog Entry should be around 500 – 600 words in length and will evi-dence your approach to continuous learning throughout the module. Marks will be awarded for in-depth reflection that displays a mature ability to analyse, disseminate and discuss real world business issues. 1 reference for each blog in the beginning where you describe the issue

• Step 1: Pick a recent business issue from a reputable news source that you find interesting (i.e. Financial Times, BBC News, Bloomberg etc.) and spend no more than a few sentences describing the issue.

• Step 2: Briefly summarise how you feel about the issue (i.e. is it surprising? Are you shocked? How damaging do you think it is? – Explaining why you think this?).

• Step 3: Apply one of the tools that we have covered in each week’s lecture to the business issue you have chosen. You may wish to produce an annotated diagram of your chosen tool in order to do this.

• Step 4:  Offer some analysis that looks into the reasoning behind your findings (e.g. what was the cause? Why did the issue occur? How might it have an impact on stakeholders?).

• Step 5:  Finish by outlining how you think your chosen tool is helpful/ unhelpful to organisations and discuss what the organisation could learn from the issue you have chosen.

When writing your blogs you should strive for quality over quantity i.e. it’s better to fully develop a small number of analytical points, rather than produce lots of points that go into little detail.
