The artist Giorgio De Chirico painted the seminal work entitled “Mystery and Melancholy of A Street” in 1914. Please discuss how the artist uses color (muted), the vanishing point and multiple perspectives within the image. How many vanishing points are there in this image and where are they? Also, how does his use of perspective influence your understanding of the painting? Must be 500 words or more.
Day: February 16, 2020
Please reflect, in writing, on the following two-part prompt. Make sure that your finished reflection is at least 300 words long to ensure that you receive full credit:
What is the purpose, in your opinion, of personal writing? Why would a Remembered Event or personal narrative essay be assigned as part of a college writing course? These are questions I was asked by students the very first college course I ever taught. I was teaching a set curriculum (I was required to teach a personal essay), and the students were all pre-engineering majors, and they were trying to stage a mutiny. They argued that they would never have to do this kind of writing in their majors or in their professional lives. (The engineers in my family later told me they were wrong on both counts.) Some people view personal writing as less rigorous than other kinds of writing. Do you agree? Why or why not? Why do you think personal writing is so often assigned in college writing classes?
Part 2. Please read the excerpts fromThe Best We Could Do in Canvas Readings Folder 1. Although the memoir is presented in graphic format, what tools has the author used that might translate to conventional essay writing? (Next week, we are even going to be doing an activity on essay-writing that will invite you to storyboard your essay like a film or graphic novel!)
Please note: The Best We Could Do is this year’s One Book One College selection. That means that a lot of teachers at Chaffey assign their students to buy and read this book. Since I am committed to keeping this class a 0-cost-textbook class, I only reproduce parts of the text (in the amounts allowed by law). I think these excerpts are powerful and helpful ways to understand our own writing. Be aware that each year there is a college book essay contestLinks to an external site.. Last year, one of my students won first place, and in nearly every year, I have at least one student who wins a prize–so being at least a bit familiar with the book has an added advantage!
Choose one of the types of participants in basic components of a business network, and explain how you think the chosen participant type could effectively use assets in an enterprise blockchain environment to impact the organizations outcomes.
Then think of three questions youd like to ask other students and add these to the end of your thread. The questions should be taken from subject. Youre not trying to test each other, but you are trying to start a discussion.
You must do the following:
1) Create a new thread. As indicated above, choose one of the types of participants, and explain how you think the chosen participant type could effectively use assets in an enterprise blockchain environment to impact the organizations outcomes. Then think of three questions youd like to ask other students and add these to the end of your thread.
Identify a chronic disease of current interest and concern. What are the symptoms? What is the treatment? How can the disease be prevented?
What role can the Health informatics professional take in prevention or management of this chronic disease? Use APA in-text citations with an APA reference page.

Do any of the laws from the Digital Book apply to this case? Perform research on the laws that may apply, and be sure to cite to an authoritative source.
If they do apply, analyze the legality of the corporations actions in this case.
If the laws do not apply to the actions in this case, explain why they do not apply.
Ethical Analysis
Research and apply an ethical theory to the case. What is the result if the ethical theory is applied to the actions of the company?
Conclusion and Recommendation
Based on the above, as well as what you have learned about ethical theories and foundations of moral development, what is your final recommendation to the corporation regarding this case?
Your recommendation should be at least 2 paragraphs and include at least three reasons, with specific references to authoritative sources, stating how you arrived at that conclusion.

Before you start on this week’s part of the project, you learn more facts about the negotiation of this contract:
Bob decides that he wants the toys and calls you to set up a meeting to discuss the price and to examine the collection of toys to make sure they are in excellent shape.
On October 4th, you meet at a local restaurant whereupon Bob examines the toys, which are up to his standards. You offer to sell them to him for $750.00. Bob scoffs and offers $650.00. Although you are a bit frustrated with his counteroffer, you remember that you really need the money so you offer $725.00. Bob grumbles and increases his offer by a mere $10 to $660.00. He claims he will not pay a penny more. You lower your price to $720.00 and inform him that this is your best, final offer.
Bob states that he will not pay that price and departs the restaurant. Feeling defeated you collect your toys and go home. As you walk home, you wonder if you should have continued the negotiation and gone lower seeing that $700 is your goal price.
On October 13th, you get a call from Bob. It turns out that he combed the entire Internet and can’t seem to find a set that is complete like the one you are offering. Sounding a little bashful, Bob offers to pay you $700.00 for the set. Just to toy with Bob a bit, you provide a price of $710.00. After hesitating for a few moment, Bob accepts.
You mutually agree that you will meet at noon on October 17th back at the restaurant that you met the previous week. You make a stipulation that you want payment to be in cash, particularly smaller bills.
Earlier you were introduced to the overview of the project for this course. For this week you will start on your way to drafting a contract for this situation by filling in the worksheet that appears as an attachment below. You will need to open the attachment and save it to your files.
You will fill in the worksheet and answer the questions that follow the chart.
Your course project is to develop an Anti-Bias Action Plan. For this part of the project, you will select and research a diverse group in your community that has experienced inequality, bias, or discrimination in the past. You will then gather background information about the group, and then submit a report of your findings.
Step 1: Select and research a diverse group in your community that has experienced inequality, bias, or discrimination in the past. Your focus should be on children ages birth through 8 years old in the selected group.
Considerations for selecting your group:
- Examples include a cultural group you are interested in or concerned about, a specific language group whose linguistic needs are not being met, children with special needs, a diverse religious or socioeconomic group, a gender/sexual orientation group, and so on.
Step 2: Gather background information about the selected diverse group.
- Research and learn more about the diverse group of learners you selected and the group’s experiences with discrimination and bias.
- Incorporate two (2) credible resources to examine and compare relevant facts and information about the group you selected. You can use your textbook, credible websites, articles, etc. One must be a resource located through the Rasmussen Library databases.
Step 3: Report your findings in a 2-3 page paper.
- Identify the group you selected and explain why and/or how you selected the group.
- Describe the group and the form of discrimination it has endured, both in the past and currently.
- Describe what type of action (if any) it has taken in the past.
- Integrate the facts and information you gathered from your resources to better explain the groups experiences with discrimination and bias.
Format your paper using APA style, including a title page and a reference page that contains the sources you used. For help with formatting your paper, visit the .
Does not have to be in a paper form not header or page numbers just phargraphs.
In contracts, voidable is a term typically used with respect to a contract that is valid and binding unless avoided or declared void by a party to the contract who is legitimately exercising a power to avoid the contractual obligations.
A contract may be voidable on the grounds of:
- Fraud
- Mistake
- Misrepresentation
- Lack of capacity
- Duress
- Undue Influence
- Abuse of a fiduciary relationship
For this week’s discussion board address the following:
- Should we allow for voidable contracts? Why or why not?
- From the list above, provide an example scenario for one (not all) of the listed grounds. For example: Duress: Max tells Rhonda that he will kidnap Rhonda’s children if she does not enter into the contract. Rhonda signs it, but later wants to get out of it. This will be a voidable contract based on duress.
- From the list above, add another reason that you think should be ground to make a contract voidable and explain why it would be a good addition.
Throughout this module you learned the basics of contract formation. An additional requirement of contract formation is consideration. The courts separate legally binding obligations from mere agreements by checking for consideration. Under basic principles of contract law, consideration is the answer to the question, “Why are you entering this contract?” or “What are you receiving for being a party to this contract?”
Consideration, quite simply, is the benefit that each party gets or expects to get from the contractual deal. For example, you paid your college tuition money for an education. You benefit by receiving the educational services of the college, and the college benefits by receiving your tuition money.
For this written assignment, you will further explore the topic of consideration and whether it is present in the following scenarios. Read the facts of the scenario and answer the following questions:
- Is there proper consideration? (Further research on consideration is recommended)
- Why or why not is there valid consideration?
Your answer to each scenario should be a paragraph in length and must include the source of your information in a properly formatted APA citation.
Scenario 1:
Tasha rents an apartment in an undesirable part of town. While others, such as her Aunt Rita, find it unsuitable, Tasha seems fine with her living situation. She never experiences any problems with the neighbors, and the rent is cheap. One day during a phone call, Aunt Rita tells her that she wants to gift her $10,000 for anything of her choosing. Tasha figures that this is her aunt’s backhanded way of getting her to move, so she decides to search for a home. Upon finding a home, Tasha calls her Aunt Rita and asks for the money. Rita changes her mind and tells Tasha that she no longer wants to give her the money. Angrily, Tasha hangs up the phone and heads to the courthouse to sue her aunt for the $10,000. Is there consideration?
Scenario 2:
Officer Friendly notices a poster announcing that a reward is being offered for the capture of a nefarious criminal, Fred Doesnogood. During his evening patrol, Officer Friendly apprehends and arrests Doesnogood. After he completes his shift he decides to call the number to get the reward seeing as he is the one who captured him. Will he be able to get the reward? Is there consideration?
Scenario 3:
Ezra loves watching home improvement shows, but is not that handy when it comes to doing the actual improvements at his house. During one of his favorite shows, an ad appears for a local painting company that is running a fantastic deal. He calls the number and arranges for Izzy to paint his house on Friday. Izzy shows up on Friday and they agree upon a price of $700.00 for the exterior of the house to be painted. Izzy completes the job to the satisfaction of Ezra, but he does not seem to want to pay. Is there consideration?
A field trip is an excellent way to apply learning objectives within the community. These experiences allow students to see how their classroom learning applies to the world around them. While a field trip can be beneficial to student learning, it does require thoughtful consideration.
For this assignment, you will plan a field trip that would allow students to apply content knowledge outside the classroom.
Your plan must include:
General Planning:
- Location of field trip. Cost per student/adult.
- Number of students/adults that would go on the field trip.
- Transportation options.
- Special offers from the field trip location.
- Lunch options.
- Description of services available for students with disabilities.
- Guidelines for chaperones.
Academic Planning:
- At least three learning objectives that will be met on the field trip.
- Activities in which the students will participate and how the activities support the learning objectives.
- Reflection/write up that the students would have to complete after the field trip.
- Permission letter for parents to sign.
Write a 250-500 word reflection on your process for planning a field trip. How difficult was it to find a field trip that supported your chosen learning objectives? Explain how the field trip was a way you promoted positive outcomes for young children. Describe how you will use this process in your future professional practice.
APA format is not required, but solid academic writing is expected.
This assignment uses a rubric. Review the rubric prior to beginning the assignment to become familiar with the expectations for successful completion.
You are required to submit this assignment to LopesWrite.
