A philosophy of teaching statement is an important component of your classroom handbook or website project. This statement helps to demonstrate how you are intentional or purposeful about your teaching. It also enables you to communicate your goals as a care teacher.  Most teaching job applicants are now being asked to articulate their philosophy during job interviews, so this is a great place to start pulling these thoughts together and get some helpful, supportive feedback.

Assignment Directions:

Using the information from this week’s reading, prior information from your other ECE courses, and any real-world experience with infants and toddlers, draft a 1-page philosophy of teaching infants/toddler statement.  This is a 1st draft and will be revisited and revised as we progress through our course together.

In your first draft, be sure to focus on:

1. Your perception of teaching. This opening paragraph is where you describe what teaching means to you and your views on the role of the infant/toddler care teacher.

2. Your perception of learning. In this second paragraph, try and describe your thoughts on how infants/toddlers learn and develop. You can reference particular philosophies or teaching approaches (these can come from your reading) or simply relate your own thoughts and opinions.

3. Your teaching goals. In this final paragraph, you will describe your goals for young children and what you can do as an infant/toddler care teacher to support early learning and development in a group care environment (this can be center-based and/or family childcare). This is where you tell the reader why you teach the way that you do!

After reading the article “Controlled Burn: The Gendering of Stress and Burnout in Modern Policing” by Kurtz, focus on the results of this article and discuss:
Do you understand the results? Why or why not?

What recommendations do you have for presenting the results of this research so that a police executive could use them?

Nursing Profession

Views on nursing as a career or a job and my professional objectives related to nursing.

The unique roles of nurses comprise of caring for patients and assessing their reactions to health status. I believe this helps the sick in the performance of various activities that enhance their recovery. Within the nursing care environment, nurses with other healthcare workers share their functions of planning, implementing, and assessment to ensure adequate health systems that promote health, caring for the ill, and prevents illness (Masters, 2018).

Nurses should always work with an intention that is beyond just getting a salary because all this task requires a lot of commitments and determination that is voluntary.Nursing is, therefore, more of a career than a job because it is a sequence of connected service opportunities. Continuing professional advancement is an expectation and expression need for the nurses in all the career stages (Barber Rioja, & Rosenfeld, 2018). It is with this regard that I aim to uphold my character of integrity and honesty. This is through ensuring that I do not copy professional evaluations and ensuring that I aspire for high levels of professional and personal conduct.

Again, my professional goal is to work together with other medical professionals, and through this, I believe that I will develop my skills every day in nursing. I also aim to treat every patient individually, putting in mind that the individuals have diverse beliefs, values, and needs. I believe in the fact that in nursing, care is a priority where communication is core. I aim to provide advice and information precisely so that patients can understand and make informed decisions for the best interest of the customers. I believe that all this set of values will elevate the quality of nursing care as a way of improving the methods, judgments, and standards that direct nursing practices every day. Working in professional environments enhances skills developments that are of great significance at any stage of the career (Price & Reichert, 2017).

Steps to take in preparation for an interview

I believe that any skills and potential possessed by one does not mean anything without conquering a nursing interview. It becomes difficult for an individual to go to the next stage of his career, and this can be very devastating. I believe that evaluating myself is one way to ace an interview. Before the actual interview, I will formulate a list of questions and try to answer them in front of a mirror or even ask help from friends or relatives. Through this, I can find the answers to the questions I expect in the interview panel.

Also, I will research the specific institution where I am to avail myself of the interview through their websites or visiting before the day of the interview. I believe this is the best way to check if my own professional and personal values rhyme with theirs, and this will put me ahead of the competition in an interview.

Moreover, I will prepare my documents before the time comes. This is core because it will enable help me make sure that I do not miss out on anything that can be of help in the interview. On the day of the interview, I will ensure that I look professional. It means that I will glue to dressing modestly and avoid dresses that are flashy. Planning my day is another thing that I believe to be core. I will check the weather forecast the night before the interviews to enable me to pick appropriate attire. I will also check on the institutions’ locations and plan for the best mode of transportation that will ensure I get to the interview before time. I will also ensure that I get enough sleep before the day of the interview to ensure the optimal cognitive presentation

Project

The project assignment provides a forum for analyzing and evaluating relevant topics for this week on the basis of the course competencies covered.

Introduction

The fundamental premise of this course is that different organizational strategies require different human resource policies and practices. Before HRM strategies can be utilized, it is important to understand the different types of strategies that organizations formulate and implement. It is important to understand the strategic planning process because HR professionals are expected to navigate the language of business and to be able to discuss HR programs using the terminology of strategic planning. Corporate strategies are organization-wide strategies focused on the overall strategy for the organization and its businesses or interests. These strategies are usually focused on long-term growth and survival goals.

Listed are three corporate strategy options:

  • Restructuring
  • Growth
  • Stability

Each strategy option includes several forms:

  • Restructuring: turnaround, divestiture, liquidation, or bankruptcy.
  • Growth: incremental growth, international growth, or mergers and acquisitions.
  • Stability: maintain the status quo.

Tasks

Select a public company to research. Pick one of the corporate strategy forms listed above, and answer the following questions:

  • Describe your chosen organization.
  • Define the corporate strategy that you researched.
  • Evaluate the strategy used by your chosen organization and explain why it was selected.
  • Examine if the strategy focus on long-term growth or survival goals for that organization?
  • Conclude if the growth was achieved.

To support your work, use your course and text readings and also use the . As in all assignments, cite your sources in your work and provide references for the citations in APA format.

Submission Details

  • Present a 2- to 3-page paper in a Microsoft Word document formatted in APA style. Cite any sources using the APA guidelines.
  • Name your file as SU_HRM5010_W1_Project_LastName_FirstName.

250  words this is like in 2 hours

Please as discussed in the week 2 forum and week 2 lesson make the ‘working title’ straight forward so that it is not only easy to read, but easy to interpret as well.  Be brief and avoid using unnecessary words. Use a single title or a double title. An example of a double title is, Network Theory: Prison Gangs in Kentucky an Inmate’s Perception.  Here, we know the proposal (study) is about Network theory, as it relates to an inmates perception of prison gangs in Kentucky.  As a rule of thumb, make the title no longer than 12 words.  A good way to do this is to remove articles and prepositions, but make sure the working title includes the focus i.e., topic of the study .

Please remember you are selecting a topic NOT for writing a research paper about, but rather for writing a proposal to do actual hands-on research using scientific research methodology. (However, NO actual hands-on research will be conducted in this class based on your proposal.)

Submit your proposed working title for approval by no later than Sunday of week 2. Late submissions of this assignment will not be accepted.

Your response should reflect upper-level undergraduate writing and current APA standards.

We viewed the video in class, but here is the link in case you’d like to view it again.  Please answer the following questions and bring to class Monday to discuss.

Syllabus:

Writing Assignment 1:

Three (3) Case Briefs: The case-briefing exercises require students to analyze published judicial opinions and then summarize the salient points of the case within a single page. We will go over how to write a case brief in class. The case briefs will be graded using the grading rubric posted on Canvas and will count towards 30% of the final grade in the course (4% for the first case brief; 6% for the second case brief; 10% for the third case brief).

Purpose: The purpose of reading in the practice of law is different from the purpose of reading in many other disciplines.  In law, you read not just to familiarize yourself with someone elses ideas, but to be able to use the information to formulate and answer additional questions.  This requires understanding judicial opinions.  Therefore, passively reading cases is not sufficient; you must deconstruct judicial opinions into different parts and state those components in your own words in an easily accessible format.  Case briefs reduce the volume of material and ensure understanding of the opinions for application in a new set of facts.

Directions: Choose one of the cases from Part II: Table for Cases section of your textbook (page 453), and use the “Briefing Cases” article I provided you in class February 5, 2020, as a “How To” guide for your case brief (case name; facts; procedural history; issue(s); holding/decision; rule; rationale/reasoning; final disposition; and other opinions (dissent/concurrence).  Please keep in mind that while a case brief generally consists of similar topic headings, some professors/employers will have a preferred briefing format.  You are only required to follow this general format in this class.

Formatting: One single-spaced page; 12-point font; Times New Roman font; one-inch margins; clear topic headings.
