please choose the image from the PowerPoint Chapter 6.
all the rubric and instructions are in the attached materials.

First, you will choose an image from Chapter 6 it can be the one you took up previously or a new one. Then you are going to find two other images that share some similarities with the image you have chosen. These two images should come from other sources. A good place to look for these is the museum or gallery collection that houses your first work. You will use a thorough examination of these works as primary research for your essay. You may not use any textual sources not even the information provided by the website or collection you access for your other works. The only text you may use is the artists name, the name of the work, the date, the material or location, and the collection. Art history relies on images as the first and most important source of data and analysis, and this assignment will give you practice with that approach.
Essentially you will be doing a thorough comparison essay. Pick ONE element to focus on for your paper. Here are some possible options:
–    Subject matter or theme
–    Material
–    Artist
–    Location
–    Art movement
–    Composition
–    Style
–    Object type
Subject matter and artist are probably the most straightforward to address. For example, you might choose three works (one main one, two supporting) that are representations of a specific subject and then consider how each artist handles their subject in turn and why those similarities and differences are important. Conversely, you could be drawn to a particular artist, so you would choose three works by the same person and compare them to make comments about the artists development throughout their career and why those developments are important.  This is a useful trick ask yourself so what? and why does that matter? as youre developing your outline and writing your paper. In fact, I have that written on a sticky note on my desk. This will help you to push your analysis to its fullest conclusion and make your ideas more convincing…….so on
