FINAL ASSIGNMENT: Write an Essay (1000-1500 words): choose a successful comedy film (successful meaning critically and/or financially) and explain how the political and/or social climate of the time impacted the film. What was happening at the time it was made, and how did that contribute to the humor and the films success? Why did we find this funny? Whats the point of view presented by the film or filmmaker? How is cinematic language being used to convey the humor and theme of the film? Are there other noteworthy films of this style? Has this style or anything in the film become outdated, and if so, why?

Be thorough in your essay, citing specific examples. You must choose a film          that you are able to talk about for more than a paragraph. If you’re having trouble thinking of a film, I recommend starting with a genre or style of comedy you like, doing some research on the noteworthy films from that genre, studying what was going on at the time they were being made, and from there choosing the one you find most interesting. Feel free to contact me if you are really struggling (but do not do so at the last minute!)

Please do not exceed 1500 words if you can, as I have limited time to read 36 essays before final grades are due.

I am applying for Virginia tech as a graduate student, my major is Architecture and they asked me to write a two pages paper:

Why do you want to undertake graduate work?
Why do you qualify to pursue graduate degree at Virginia tech?
What do you expect to derive from your program of study?
If you have a concentration or area of interest in mind, briefly outline your interests in this area.
Why do you expect to contribute as a student and subsequently as a member of other profession?

I also attached a paper as an example.

Where Do We Go From Here
As we have progressed through this course we have reviewed and evaluated different aspects of the community-oriented policing system and have gotten a good idea of where we are now. But what of the future? Where are we headed to? If there is one thing we have learned it is that we are always evolving. For this weeks assignment consider the future of community-oriented policing. A good place for some information to start with is here:  https://cops.usdoj.gov/. What changes are being suggested? What are the strategies that communities and law enforcement agencies are not using now that might be successful in the future? Evaluate possibilities and make suggestions as to how our communities can keep up with the times and continue to work with law enforcement to solve problems and improve the quality of life in the neighborhoods.
Create a narrated PowerPoint presentation that contains at least 10 slides which outline your community-policing approach in the future.
In your presentation, cite at least 2-3 references using the APA style guide format.
Only one of the references you use may be found on the internet. The other references must be found in the library (this includes EBSCO Host and the Gale Criminal Justice Collection).

You are writing a research paper on the playwright Federico Garcia Lorca.

You must use one primary source and three secondary sources. One of these must be a scholarly source from the JSTOR database. You must include three quotes from the course textbook: Theatre by Robert Cohen ( I attached the chapter to files).
Primary Sources: A primary source provides direct or firsthand evidence about an event, object, person, or work of art. Primary sources include historical and legal documents, eyewitness accounts, results of experiments, statistical data, pieces of creative writing, audio and video recordings, speeches, and art objects. In the natural and social sciences, primary sources are often empirical studiesresearch where an experiment was performed, or a direct observation was made. The results of empirical studies are typically found in scholarly articles or papers delivered at conferences.
Secondary Sources: Secondary sources describe, discuss, interpret, comment upon, analyze, evaluate, summarize, and process primary sources. Secondary source materials can be articles in newspapers or popular magazines, book or movie reviews, or articles found in scholarly journals that discuss or evaluate someone elses original research.

Sound advertising practices include the CAN elements of connectedness, appropriateness and novelty that are important for a creative advertisement. This means that the audience can relate to the advertisement on some level; the ad provides appropriate information for the consumers needs and all MARCOM communications are delivering the same consistent message; and the ad is fresh and unexpected. However, the advertisement novelty should not overwhelm the message. You have all seen advertisements which were very novel or creative, but when they were finished, you could not remember the product or service they were attempting to sell. But beyond these CAN elements is the notion of stickiness and the six factors that determine whether an ad is sticky will be remembered by the audience and will actually change their opinions or behavior. Additionally, advertisements have a purpose. The advertiser is trying to remind the consumer about a product or service, inform the consumer of a product or service, or persuade the consumer to buy the product or service, try it, or get more information about it. All of these concepts make up sound advertising practices in MARCOM.

Topic: Ads that Stick and More

Using the six stickiness factors on pages 204205:

Discuss an advertisement that you have seen on the Internet or on television and how it meets or does not meet these sticky ad requirements. Provide the name of the advertiser/product.
Summarize the ad and discuss what the advertiser is trying to accomplish with the ad. Is the focus to remind, inform, or persuade the audience?
What, if anything, would you change about this advertisement to make it stickier?
Is there anything you would do to improve the ad overall?
Make sure to provide the URL link to the advertisement if online
